  • was it one of this open air in the kongenspark near rosenborg castle?

  • Desde Buenos Aires la señorita Tuva Semmingsen tiene un fan incondicional!!! Muy buena cantante

  • Thank you very much!

  • Is it likely that the radio link in the info box will work for other than Danish IP-addresses? I somehow doubt it. Sorry!

  • The link has been tested by someone not in Denmark and worked. But I have no idea whether that was a fluke or not...

  • I went to the premiere yesterday and as expected, Tuva took my breath away. She performs this aria handcuffed and ends up being carried from the stage by Palle Knudsen (as Ormonte) after breaking down completely - amazing!

  • How lucky you!

  • Hehe - lucky and *poor*!!! I've spent a small fortune on 6 tickets for this (but I'm confident it'll be worth every penny).

  • I'm sure it'll be worth, I wish I could go, but Spain is pretty far... :S

  • Haha, money ... if I didn't hear Handel sung by our wonderful mezzosopranos on a regular basis, I would have to invest a lot more money in the cure of the depression I'd get without them.

Anyhow, look very much forward to hear Tuva this Sat :-))) Tx to youtube and your videos, FuzzyCerts! I wouldn't have known Tuva at all otherwise. Good to read you liked the premiere.

  • So we'll be hearing your applause on the radio! Sadly, Tuva's voice gave out after the second act yesterday, so let's all cross our fingers that she's ok by Saturday :-/

  • Oh I hope she'll recover soon (shouldn't sound egoistic). It's true, sometimes I forget that singers are as well human beings - somehow.

How often did you say you go there? 3 times?? ;-))

  • I've been twice (+ a dress rehearsal) and will be going another 4 times. Somehow, the tickets kept multiplying :D

There were a few small snippets on TV last night, which I'm working on putting up. Sadly, they insisted on talking about the opera instead of showing bits from it :-/

  • Wonderful, a production that attracts you 6 times. Most people I know don't even stand one single Handel opera until the end, poor them. And lucky we who have this PASSION.

  • Actually, Tuva's the only person who can attract me to go and see the same opera more than once - I went to see her twice as Nerone in McVicar's Poppea in Jan/Feb as well as going going several times for her Cenerentola... Sadly, she's still indisposed (Oct. 17th). Decca was there recording, so I just hope that she'll be back on form for the final three performances - I don't want the DVD if it's Tuva-free :D (plus I've got tickets for all three of them)

  • What a pity that Tuva is still ill. To a delicate, baroque, Handelian ear, her singing is absolutely delightful. Read the wise words by Crindoro:

Can't say it often enough FuzzyCerts: without your yt videos, I would have not heard of Tuva at all.

Your work is great, VERY much appreciated.

  • What about last night? Has she recovered?

I missed her on Tuesday, but Andreas Scholl's my everything, so I was glad to be there. He developed into a great actor. He was hilarious as a comedian, but he also gave me a big heartache...

All the others were superb, too. And the story itself, it's so powerfully dramatic, besides being funny.

  • As of last night (Friday, 24th), Tuva's back! I was beginning to think that Trine would be the one who ended up on the DVD, but it looks like we'll get the 'right' Rosmira. I was *so* disappointed when she wasn't even on stage the other day - not least because her chemistry with the Schollster is very different from Trine's.

  • Yeah, it's surely more fun with a real amazon opposite poor Arsace.

I'm looking forward to the dvd!

  • Dearest FuzzyCerts, this video is most amazing!! Since youve uploaded Tuvas Sesto arias, I was so eager to hear this mezzosoprano one day on stage. By a fortunate coincidence, I have to go in Oct to CPH for work, so booked of course a Partenope ticket with Tuva. Now youve uploaded this excellent video which made me even more excited. Thank you sooo much. Really. Must have been a dream afternoon. Cheers.

  • You are very welcome! And I hope you enjoy the show as much as I intend to.

Now I'm just waiting for Denmarks Radio to actually broadcast their recording of this open air concert, so that - hopefully - I can upload a better version of this.

  • For me this version is perfect, I love TRUE live recordings. No change request from my side as long as I can clearly hear Tuva's voice :-)

  • her voice remind me Sonia Prina.. almost the same colour

  • Hm find as well that her and Prina's timbre have sth in common. But Tuva seems to me a bit smoother/softer at the transition of the notes -> nicer to my ears, whereas Prina is more like "click-click-click".

  • Thank you very much. This is really awesome. I pity myself so much for having to wait for the dvd....

I made a calculation how much it would cost to go and see this opera in Copenhagen and it was around my husband's entire monthly income, so maybe next time...
