Yo i had the same idea as you and i went out and bought a Fade Master blade for my OG Andis Master. The problem is that the blade wouldnt fit. i dont know if im trippin or whether the screws are too short. How'd you get yours to fit?
Al, is barbering/styling a young man's game? I've been looking to joining this profession for years but have been prevented from doing so. I'm 38 and finally able to pursue this passion. Do you think that's to old to start out in this profession?
@alsmillions Hey man, I get those black bumps on the back of my neck. I've had this problem for years and cant get rid of them. I know you're not a dermatologist but I need some help. I use bump patrol when I shave my face with razors and it works fine. I've been thinking of buying your product (Bump killer?) I'm just tired of seeing these black bumps on the back of my neck. I DO NOT ever shave over bumps. For some reason, I cant get those black bumps to go away.
thanks man for all the game you just put me up on,, im new to this i just started cuttin other people heads and i do a ok job i just be scared im gone miss up, so i cut consertive,, but i do a great job on my self every time .. i have two t eadgers and osters 76 ,, how would i do a bald fade with some 76's , i no u make ur circle around the head with ur 3 out ,, but then wat do u use ? ur Oa ? and just fade althe way till u get to wat u used on top?
Thanks for the prompt reply! I just stop using the Balding clipper cause it would pull bad. It's too bad because it's a really good clipper that can bald heads fast. Thanks again!
Hey Al..I have problems with my Wahl Balding Clipper. It pulls some of my clients skin! Have you ever had that problem? Do you know how I can prevent it from happening?
@Frsko Make sure there's no overlap, but you will find that you can't use Balding clippers on all clients especially those with fatty or soft skin. Use your regular clippers and then use your outliner to clean it up.
Hey Al, I see that you like to try different clippers/trimmers to find the best results, well I have a recommendation for you. Oster Art-Tech Super Trimmer! It takes the Andis T-outliner/Outliner2 blade and doesn't get any where near as warm as the andis trimmer and has more power! You'll love them if you try them with the Andis blade! AMAZON!
Hi Al, Great Video's Brother. I shave an shape up my own hair as well as my husbands and use the Wahl taper which i got from my dad, however it doesn't give a crisp finish when shaping up so would like your opinion on what would be best for me to use as i have been wanting to get the wahl balding clippers (would this be good for shaping as well as shaping for a clean finish?) I live in the uk so not sure if ones you mentioned are all available in uk. Thanks
hey al I'm a fan man I live close to DC and its hard to find a good barber in the area in which I live so I see your videos and i don't lose faith the videos you put up are informative and let people know what is really going on in the hair world especially for men........I have one question is the wahl's five star trimmer wet/dry??
Yo Al did you know you can get the magnetic andis guards in a pack that includes guards 0 through 4? I myself bought the pack that came with the 0 and the 1 from atlanta barber but yesterday I found the 0 through 4 pack on ebay.
ok...I love your work, I am a barber and a cosmetologist doing maybe 3-5 fades a day along with 2-3 color services and relaxers, and some braides and weaves at my small one person salon. You have helped me more than any training ever did! Big ups for that from WA! Some of the clippers in your arsenal are really heavy for me like the wahl master,is there another lighter weight clipper that you recommend? BTW can you reognize some of the females in your audience and quit callin us fellas...lol
Hey AL FOR EXAMPLE: IF U WANNA DO A FADE #2 on top and 0. on bottom u dont go from 0 to 1/2 to 1 to 1 and 1/2 to 2 HOW WOULD U DO IT. TRY TO MAKE A VID JUST 2 and 0 my fav LOL
Hey alsmillions, I currently shave with oster t-finishers but they are about 4 years old. To replace the shaver, I recently purchased a rotary shaver and now I have razor bumps. Should I go back to the t-finishers and get a dull cut or can i use one of your trimmers you mention to get a better cut for shaving?
@AndresWSM209r The Balding clipper removes the hair but the shaver gets you skin close. They do 2 different jobs. Neither one can do what the other does.
hey al have you ever used the andis bgrc detatchables? i have the oster 76 and couldnt find the starteq in my area. which would you prefer? trying to get away from the jetnoise of the 76 since some kids spaz out when they hear them.
Have you ever had any problems with the motor in your masters? I think I might have got oil in the motor... They make a really loud noise and I've pretty much tried everything... I think they're pretty much busted... And one more question: Which instructional DVD(s) would you recommend?
Never had a problem with none of my master's motors. Join my other site: Alsmakingthecut dot c. For all the videos you need. The screw on the right of the master if turned slowly will usually stop the noise.
I really like to use the Wahl balding clipper but when I use it, the still blade tends to pull & bite at my clients skin. It pulled so much dat I had to take it out of my arsenal. Have u had dis problem occur to u while u've used dis instrument? If so, please send feedback on recommendations for the pulling. I really luv using that particular tool.
@CamyolaCola It needs to be adjusted. Holding the blade facing you, the inner blades right side should be flush with the top of the outter blade. The left side of the inner blade should meet the bottom of the teeth of the outter blade. I know, it's crooked, that's the way it's suppose to be. When you tighten the screws and cut it on, it will cut even. Trust me!
You going to have to remove the blade and tighten the tiny screws on the plate were the blade was gradually. As you tighten the screws test the arm to see if it's stiff enough. Then replace the blade.
Al, could you use your Andis with the Fade Blade to Bald instead of the Wahls Balding Clipper? Just wondering what the difference would be between the two. Thanks
Great point Al I see many barbers ruining the life of the trimmers due to shaving the head instead of using balding clips. Let the clippers to the job they were made for.
Yo i had the same idea as you and i went out and bought a Fade Master blade for my OG Andis Master. The problem is that the blade wouldnt fit. i dont know if im trippin or whether the screws are too short. How'd you get yours to fit?
