  • my respect for this show just skyrocketed

  • such a subtly genius joke.

  • @WhyIAm7 its not a particularly subtle joke..

  • @jayrobson88 it's pretty subtle.

  • I just noticed this, but Buster had some poppin sweaters in this show.

  • because he jumped the shark on the tv show

  • legendary.

  • Did anyone else also notice that the Bluths next attorney was Bob Loblaw, who was played by Scott Baio...he also replaced Harry Winkler in Happy Days lol

  • @MrticTac921 "This isn't the first time I've been called in to replace Barry Zuckercorn"

  • That is why Henry Winkler is a BOSS!

  • HAHAHA It sure is !

  • its a wonderful restaurant!

  • @MegaSammich It sure is.

  • @jli1877 thats whats so great about this show. You always catch something new everytime you watch :)

  • Haha, that's so clever and I never picked up on that the first time.

  • Excellent irony!

  • woow im such a huge fan. HOW COULD I HAVE MISSED THIS

  • Oh my god. I JUST saw this episode, and never even realised. lmao.

  • Yet another example, of literally hundreds, why this show was/is/will always be miles ahead of everything else on TV. The amount of thought that went into everything every character did is just astounding. Best. Show. Ever.

  • And it went all downhill from there... (kills self)

  • I never noticed this before. Brilliant :D

  • ah, so subtly brilliant

  • "it's a wonderful restaurant"

  • that just blew my f'ing mind!!!!

  • I definitely missed this the first time around. This is why it pays to never stop watching this show...ever.

  • HOLY SHIT i have never noticed this joke before! The Fonz literally jumped over a shark here!! G-E-N-I-U-S

  • I JUST got this joke. I love that Arrested Development has a numerous amount of in-jokes.

  • That was so clever I can't hardly handle it..

  • I think the show went downhill from here...

  • @50Dashes the show never went downhill...

  • @vidloaf It's a joke. You know, because someone jumped the shark.

  • they're gonna jjump the season in a few years dont worry

  • There is another moment like this where Dan Castalanetta (voice actor for Homer) says "doh!' when he is Michael's doctor./

  • @TheDhezballah youve just blown my mind! now im looking for a clip!

  • AH I just got it hahah

  • I love the subtle jokes AD haves

  • THERE IS GOING TO BE A MOVIE AND ANOTHER SERIES!

  • lol i feel like a arrested development watchers have seen the show 100 times through... or it might just be me

  • @sportsdude8912 nah.. that sounds about right lol

  • Buster was AWESOME in Chuck. I hate how they handled his leaving the show. If you haven't watched any of Chuck nows a great time to start renting it. He comes in at Season 2 after the Asian Guy in Dexter left. Dang I hate when I have brain farts all celebrity names. Especially the ones I like.

  • wow i never even caught that

  • I don't understand it?

  • @kiwiwold11 That's the guy who played Fonzie. The phrase "jumping the shark" came from that role.

  • Well after waiting three minutes to see if he would jump the(there was no) shark, this is probably his subtle way of saying sorry.

All is forgiven, Henry Winkler. All is forgiven.

  • i didnt get it. the show had not jumped the shark so why make him do it. just coz he did it as the fonz at one point??

  • @ytgurlii Yeah, the show loved to poke fun at odd things in the actors career, like Mr.Show,etc. and also roduct placement...god i miss this show...why did fox cancel this and keep family guy???

  • I pretty much understand a new Happy Days reference every time I go through the seasons. Ron Howard's the narrator, Henry Winkler was replaced by Scott Baio! It all makes so much SENSE!

  • wow i didn't get either of the references the first time...

  • This is the most brilliant sight gag on television, ever.

  • i think it would be funnier if he said the original like "and i skipped breakfast so im off to get a chicken tender crisp" but Winkler couldnt get the line down so he just said burger king :/

  • Not only was this a reference to Winkler's time as The Fonz, they also make another thinly-veiled reference to their corporate sponsor, Burger King. It's a wonderful restaurant!

  • @m0chab34r It sure is.

  • this show is genius

  • I love how subtle Arrested Development can be, and then when you watch it a second time, you just go "Oh, wow, that's awesome"

  • Arrested Development is so deep with every joke it seems like. You would have to watch it over and over and over to get all of the jokes...which is the life goal that I'm trying to cross off the list this very moment. Stopping world hunger will just have to wait.

  • Ironic, considering this show never came close to jumping the shark.

  • @cugamer Well season 3 was inferior to the rest...yet still better than any season of any other show.

  • @Garykelleher123 are you on crack cocaine? That show got better as it went. Watch the series finale and tell me it went downhill.

  • @Ravenkliff It's kind of a received opinion that the 3rd series wasn't as good - but I found myself laughing at it more than the other two, probably because it's the culmination of all that went before it. So clever AND silly, a great combination.

  • @Garykelleher123 id agree, tho the quality only went slightly downhill because they had to rush all of the story arcs. i would still say that AD did a fantastic job on season 3 even though they had to deal with fox

  • @cugamer my thoughts exactly

  • @cugamer Although I consider AD to be one of the BEST SHOWS EVER, I have to say it started to jump the shark with the Mr. F plotline. Unfortunately, for AD (and its fans) the show was ahead of its time. Smart, witty, no laugh track, and side-scenes. I'm glad they're bringing it back.

  • @OperaVince woah woah woah. They're bringing it back??? This makes me very happy!

  • Barry Zuckercorn is one funny mother

  • OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I never realized! Wow. I feel like an idiot that I never put together him jumping over that shark.

  • Holy shit I've rewatched this series about 5x and I never noticed this! Fantastic!

  • Gotta say I didn't even put the two together. However I laughed out loud in the scene he is in the bathroom and looks in the mirror then realises, whats to comb, too cool for school. I was looked at by everyone else thinking what was the joke?? Then I said "C'mon" and made myself laugh having numerous flashbacks of Gob. It was about then I needed new friends as I was labeled a psycho by the current ones.

  • Haha totally missed the connection the first time.

  • double entendre selachophobia slapstick. winkler is a piece or work =)

  • this show has more jokes in a single episode compared to what shows like friends have in an entire season

  • GENIUS.

Just like the rest of the show.

  • aaaand right as he says hes off to burger king (product placement)

  • @ConsoleApostate oh, that was good. referencing the reference...touché.

  • Holy SHIT I didn't catch that the first time!

  • Hoooooooooly shit.

I'm just now realizing this. Wow..

  • I had no idea the jump meant/referred to anything?! I should've known better!

  • what show is this clip from?

  • @HaWkBeAtLeSnElSoN Arrested Development, quite possibly the funniest show the 2000's had to offer

  • @HaWkBeAtLeSnElSoN Arrested Development!

Why did they cancel this show? It was so so so good! Could watch it all day long, and I have done, several times.

  • this is when i knew... this is when i knew this was the best show of all time

  • You know, I sorta stopped watching the show after this episode...

  • @Charmolution What? Why?

  • @facecycle

    It jumped the shark.

  • @Charmolution HAHAHAHA!!!! LOVE IT! Although you did circumvent it....

  • @facecycle Hahahahahaha that's fuckin awesome.

  • @Charmolution hahahaha I get it!!!!

  • I think the best thing about this joke is the fact that they don't call attention to it in any way.

  • @facecycle That's the best thing about all their jokes.

  • @facecycle That's what was so brilliant about this show. You had the hilarious plotlines sprinkled with subtle jokes that weren't thrown in your face.

  • @facecycle in the most delicious waaaayy...

  • another fearless attempt by henry winkler

  • trololo

  • Man I've seen this episode like 10 times and I just noticed this. Goddamn this show always has something unexpected

  • i came here becouse of eddworld

  • @TheOrasher lol me too

  • @TheOrasher seems like i was sent here by eddworld as well. good job mentlegen

  • this needs replay button :D 0:00

  • damn another thing i missed the first go around, just a great great show

  • How did I miss this!? I'm watching the show for the 4th time and just caught Ron Howard getting offended at their publicist calling George Michael "Opie."

  • Yet another reason why this show is BRILLIANT!!!!!!!

  • Yeah, this is the first time that I actually notice that and I watch this show religiously. It is quite a shame that a show of this quality got cancel while shows like Two and A Half Man (lol the kid is rude), Law and Order ( so many rape victims), and the Bachelor (women competing for "love") are still on the air. I'm mad as hell and i won't take it anymore!!

  • @shayngreen You should make a dramatic gesture!

  • I've seen AD hundreds of times, but I never caught this joke! Just goes to show how awesome it really was.

  • I always thought that Arrested Development would have been better on HBO. Broadcast TV is too uptight.

Nevertheless I loved this show, especially Liza Minnelli as Lucille. I hope the feature film happens.

  • And this is why Arrested Development was the greatest.

  • Barry's very good...

  • I love Barry Zuckercorn. That one episode when he tells Michael he wants to kiss him on the cock is HILARIOUS

  • Small things like that just make the show so awesome.

  • this has to be the greatest thing about AD. Just when you think you had every joke figured out, BAM!, there's one that was hiding right in front of you. Arrested Development is a neverending joke machine.

  • I just found out that Henry Winkler was Fonzie!! Ohemgee! My mind is blown.

  • haha damn this brilliant show i'm always finding something new

  • first time i saw this i laughed for about 5 mins straight lol

  • Genious. This show has a never-ending supply of subtle jokes that make it more re-watchable than any others...

  • what does 'jumping the shark' mean?

  • Comment removed

  • @jgcfc58 its a term for when a successful show has passed it peak

  • @jgcfc58 in an episode of Happy Days Fonzie (in swim trunks and his leather jacket no less) waterskiied over a shark. It was such a memorably dumb episode that they use the term "jumping the shark" when a once great show has run its course and it just does really stupid gimmicks to keep viewers interested.

  • That is amazing.

  • It's funny because once Fonzie jumped over 14 trash cans on his motocycle.

  • @strummerrr

no its funny because Fonzie jumped over a shark on a motorcycle

  • Great Self-parady

  • Burger King... It's a wonderful restaurant.

  • @quentin98765 It sure is

  • Never noticed this. Thank you so much for pointing this out.

  • *kiss on cheek* Ya know what, dont get too close to me 'cause Ive got an itch you cant believe. I think something laid eggs on me...

*wipes face* Ugh thanks for the heads up

  • genius

  • Did you know you can get refills on any drink? For free?

  • @TheT4xid3rmist ...it really is a great resturant

  • @TheT4xid3rmist It's a wonderful restaurant!

  • @saralovess it sure is!

  • You know a series is good when it can put in references as obscure as this!

  • @threebobs what the hell are you talking about? that is far from obscure

  • Hahaa. Wow:b

  • Thumbs up if you missed this the first time you watched it

  • @jli1877 Thumbs up if you missed this the first dozen times you watched it

  • hahahahahah... claaaaassssic!

  • what episode is thia

  • what episode is this?

  • @beatles820 Season 2. Episode Motherboy XXX

  • Dang I want to find that clip where Henry looks in the bathroom mirror and does that Fonz bit.

  • ITS A WONDERFUL RESTAURANT! It sure is...

  • This was surprisingly subtle.

  • how did i miss this the first 6 times i've seen the show through!?!?

  • LMFAO!! I missed that the first time! Thanks for posting.

  • Thank you for posting this! I would say it's one of AD's best moments, but every moment of this heavenly show is a best moment!

  • After countless viewings of arrested development i only now see the genius. "there's always money in the banana stand"

  • @elusivefish21 my favorite is Rita covering up a part of the "Wee Britain" bench so that it says "Wee Brain" before it is revealed she is an MRF

  • @elusivefish21 I didn't get the reference either until I read an article about it.

  • My mate uploaded the original Fonz (actually) jumping over a shark, so I did this in tribute. Arrested development is quality.

  • @Trebzz84 Quality? That's a bit of an understatement.

  • lmfao! thats awesome!

  • I had heard about this. Funny idea but Fonz just barely cleared this jump! LOL

  • its because he didn't have his leather jacket! It gives him strength :)
