  • put the whole thing on

  • In those days, most local newscasts were basically "newsreels with hosts"- that is, a live anchorman would sit at a desk- or in a "living room" setting- and read headlines from off the wire services and local news copy, and "newsreel footage" would illustrate what they were saying...very crude, compared to more "sophisticated" local newscasts todday, with grinning "pretty faces" and "happy talk" inbetween the fires, murders, and various crises-- THAT'S BETTER?

  • I remember as a kid around 1970 watching Ralph Renick on Ch. 4. Kind of a grainy picture up in the S. Palm Beach County area though. BTW, what was that thing strapped to the roof of the car? Yeah, very cool car!

  • Venetianlsle: I think the thing on top of the car was a platform so the cameraperson could get a better shot.

  • I love the very noble music!

  • Nice promo, scary too. The phrase "Has no end" give me some uncertainty.

WeakApplause: i agree with you, today would be very cool a tv stations with that cars!

    Congratulations!

  • This has to be one of the oldest news promos on YouTube -- and from *1953*!!!!

  • If some news department someplace would cruise around in a car like that *today,* it would be the coolest news deparment evvvver!

  • I love the car!!!
