  • great speech!!!

  • It sounds like the great healer is getting squishy. It doesn't matter if someone's name ends in a vowel? Et tu, Brute? You really want to try to divert this issue as though it is about racism? Maybe part of the problem starts with the backdrop. Are we really going to continue dividing ourselves into different artificial races? Or pretend that the so called 'white' race came from some mythical island of Whitelandia? The concept of immigration with different people from different ethnicities and

  • different cultures and different languages and different countries of origin isn't new. Please don't condescend to us as though we don't understand that just because we came together so well that you somehow seem to ignore or dismiss why that happened. Please don't continue to make this an issue only about guest worker programs and penalties for American employers at the same time you dismiss or even honor people who break the law. Please don't ignore that because our civic institutions such as

  • schools and hospitals and police ignore illegal immigration that it makes it very easy for a family to assimilate for decades, blending into whole communities of people in the country illegally. Please don't ignore that stopping illegal immigration at the border does not stop people from overstaying visas or that by penalizing American companies that those in the country won't continue to work under the table, even hiring others in an ever growing underground economy. Unless we are willing to

  • enforce laws within the community at every level, starting with schools and hospitals and in other comprehensive ways within the community, this problem will never begin to be addressed. We should all be able to agree that the only way to solve this issue is through a comprehensive one time approach that allows those who have established residency to remain as long as they are willing to do certain things to assimilate into American society, with renewable visas every five years. They should

  • They should never receive citizenship or voting rights. In exchange for this partial amnesty, a comprehensive enforcement system would be the absolute minimum requirement so that no person could slip through the cracks again without being subject to immediate deportation. We can't deport 11 million who have come here under the belief that we had squishy politicians with no backbone but we can deport the few new arrivals who quickly understand that laws now mean something again. We should also

  • once again get our guest worker programs and legal immigration process back on track. that will be easy once we finally get politicians who once again have enough backbone to do their job rather than putting the dirty work on employers and other American citizens. We have had enough of this foolishness. There is nothing more compassionate than reasonable rules that are finally enforced.

  • The most peaceful and honest approach to immigration, Santoram/Rubio!!! or is it Ricky Rubio?

  • "religion and government will both exist in greater purity the less they are mixed together" James Madison.

Too bad no one in the Republican party has EVER read the letter from Madison to Edward Livingston. You can though. . .it's available FREE on the net!

  • @gumpydoood But this was said, not written in any of the founding documents. Things that are important are written down. The separation of church in state in the constitution is a popular falsehood & downright lie by the anti-American left.

  • @BlackRepublican2010 No way, i've been hugely against the left since i entered college, im 24 but i always just assumeed that was truth since i was told that or heard it.

  • He is a leader that our GREAT country needs NOW...!!!! BO must GO...!!!

  • Great Speech.

  • I love this speech

  • I like what Mark Levin told him yesterday when he said for him to accept the VP nomination if asked! Rubio for VP!!!!! and definitely President in the future

  • This guy could lead a huge sea change in America. God bless him. America needs Rubio now!

  • Sorry I disagree with this..People in Mexico or wherever can have a revolution like we did and have a Constitution that gives them the freedoms they want..We can help foster that, but we can't just let everyone come here.

  • @adameater mexico has a constitution just like ours they had a revolution just like ours mexico and america are very similar countries. the problem is more complicated than that.

  • simply the best

  • There is no better politician in America today. Imagine if all in the House, the Senate and especially the White House had his morals, honesty and character.

  • @xlucim That would be so beautiful!!!!

  • True conservative is coming again.

  • Doing a great job Rubio. Like when you co-sponsored PIPA and supported SOPA. You only flip-flopped because you didn't have the votes.

    What a hack.

  • America NEEDS this guy desperately.

I hope America can survive Obama so Rubio can get a chance.

  • Why does everyone think he should be the VP pick, Senator Rand Paul has been working harder than Marco Rubio has in fact I almost never hear about Rubio I almost forgot he even existed

  • I wonder what Rubio's stand on gay rights is...

  • @bettydude Rubio has been pretty quiet about gay rights. He has not commented much on Florida's Amendment 2 and he has been a keynote speaker for an event that hosted anti-gay groups like Focus on the Family and AFA. My guess is that he stands more with Romney than Santorum when it comes to gay rights.

  • Great speech Rubio. Immigrants, like his parents, who come to this country understand why America is great. They left their home country because in most places in the world, you do not have a chance of improving your life. Some of the proudest Americans I know were not born here.

  • you sir Mr. Rubio have my heart racing through the roof. You keep dancing around the immigration issue like i dont get it. what about the dreamers. what about the kids who came here at the age of 5 years old and thhey CANNOT own drivers licenses or go to college or get jobs because of YOUR racism Mr . Rubio

  • @markprater4231 Dude, you can't go around calling people racist who don't agree with you. Libs have done it for years. I means nothing.

  • @markprater4231 BTW. He did address your question. Did you listen?

  • We need an IMMIGRATION CZAR

  • Comment removed

  • Don't think Marco qualifies to run as President !

  • I LOVE, LOVE this guy! He is so well spoken and practical. He has my vote!!!!!!!!!

  • Yes, immigration is a big racial issue, but the Tea Party and Conservatives do not care about the civil rights, or the economic empowerment of Latinos!

  • @Tonyquinterotheonly1 i think its pretty safe to say that neither side cares for our civil liberties anymore

  • @BWKsoccer06 Ron Paul?

  • @ou15reyes true, but hes not really on either side in terms of "left vs right"

  • @Tonyquinterotheonly1 You're a moron. The Republican Party freed the slaves and passed the Civil Rights Acts. MLK, Sojourner Truth, Harriet Tubman, Abraham Lincoln, Frederick Douglass...were all Republicans. Confederate leaders were all Democrats.

  • @stnewton09 those folks were republican when the gop was still NOT a racist conservative party - ps jim crow laws came about while republicans ruled

  • @nsdtr01 Sadly Dems are racist now. But GOP generally gives everyone a fair shake.

  • @MaHaRushie explain please when the gop has no intention of treating gays as equal- the gop believes in seperate but equal and we know how that works - read a good history book

  • @nsdtr01 That would not be racism, corky.

Do you think pedaphiles should be treated as an equal race? What about transvestites? Just because homosexuals have a disorder they do not constitute a seperate race of people. Duh.

Most conservatives have not problem treating homosexuals equally. But to pretent they are ok is just never going to happen.

  • @MaHaRushie you really get worked up over someone who is different - when you get over your fears and learn to spell what you have to say is still not interesting

  • @nsdtr01 Ad hominem attacks...nice. I guess you feel a unsure of yourself so that helps to ease your frustration.

  • @nsdtr01 as far as racism goes. What president appointed a known racist to the supreme court? Sotomayor. ring a bell?

What party continues to enslave black people as long as they vote Democrat? The KKK could never achieve what the Dem party has done to the black man in the last 40 years.

Occupy movement did not try to hide their hatred for Jews.

Obama has recently said he will not allow Catholics to abstain from practices that violate their religious conscience.

    Obama Sucks.

  • @MaHaRushie Well said.

  • @MaHaRushie how is ms sotomayor a racist? the catholic church no big deal ask them about the inquisitions. - examples of the of what the democratic party has done to the black man - again get a good history book and read it

  • @nsdtr01 A latino, given the richness of her history can reach a better decision than a white man. Remember this???

What do you mean? Your OK with denying religious liberty? Nice. Your turning out to be a bigger bigot that I thought. Libs gain all their power from hateful losers like you.

  • @MaHaRushie Athiestic secularism is by far more violence in its history than any religious group. Pol Pot ring a bell? We are talking Milions killed. And that's just one example.

I went to college. I know lib profs brain wash idiiots like you into thinking religion is the source of throughout history. Do your own research. They lied.

A recent study showed that possibly thousands were killed during inquisition. Compared with millions that secularism has caused.

  • @MaHaRushie that was a speech not a legal opinion - remember who first nominated sonia for district court - bush the elder in 1991 - if the catholic church had todays weapons how many people would have died during the crusades and inquisitions?

  • @nsdtr01 Still racist. That's a distinction without a difference.

You can't judge the inquisition by today's standards. Back then the Church and govt were tightly interconnected. Much of the deaths that were reported were due to actual crimes that were punishable by death. The Church was the enforcer in a lot of these cases.

You're pissed over something that happened over 600 years ago on the other side of the world. Really?

  • @MaHaRushie So you are mad about something that happened 600 years ago yet I bet you no nothing of the slaughter of Christians that goes on in your own lifetime. Hypocrite.

Who do you think the Christians were fighting? muslims. Are you mad at them as well.

I guess you hate everyone. Because what group hasn't committed atrocities at one time or another.

    You are so transparent.

  • @MaHaRushie so the catholic church is excused for the killings? that was the problem church and state were one hence the dark ages. so your not upset about 600 years ago but secularism is not ok because someone died not in the name of some god - the pol potsof the world wanted power and control - someones religion made no diffrence

  • @MaHaRushie tell that to gays of america

  • @stnewton09 Thanks. Good points.

In addition, most of the abolitionists were Christians and opposed slavery based on Christian principles.

Dems have enslaved blacks with their social programs for the last 40 years.

  • @MaHaRushie True.

  • @Tonyquinterotheonly1 Nothing could be further from the truth.

Tea party stands for free markets, limited government and fiscal responsibility.

Libs try to paint them in a different light to keep simpletons like you all fired up.

  • @MaHaRushie I have always thought the Libs were angry because they didn't think of the Tea Party first. You know they believe themselves to be the leader of all demonstrations and new found protest.

  • of course they dont want to bea part of it....its called the liberal uninformed yell and run tactic

  • What is this crap...I was looking for some basketball highlights.

  • Wow! What a speech, the issue was laid out the best I've ever heard. You will never please the hard left or right, work permit is the way to go. Citizenship is precious and should be revered not given away for votes.

  • Rubio is very well spoken but he says whatever the crowd wants to hear. In front of the TEA Party he opposes the Dream Act. In front of HLN he supports it. He is just like any politician two faced and says whatever it takes to get elected.

  • In America the law was once King and it must be again. The question is how much accommodation can be extended to criminals many of who's culture bare's little to no respect for the law, before any such legal gesture evinces the death knell of the law or even the culture that holds it aloft.

  • This man is a leader and you watch in 2016 or 2020, he will be the next President.

  • did he provide any real solutions?

    i'll wait . . .

  • @HurikaneElSwiss You are the solution. Stop waiting for someone to "fix" your problems.

  • Comment removed

  • He will be president one day.

  • I KEEP THROWING MONEY AT MY SCREEN BUT NOTHING IS HAPPENING

  • Marco Rubio should be our next president

  • Absolutely amazing speech, and articulation of why it is important honor immigrants without usurping the importance of American tradition.

We are a nation of immigrants. We are a nation of laws.

I was there (you can see the bald spot).

Those two 20-somethings stood their ground for a solid 25 seconds. Senator Rubio offered for them to stay. They left.

  • He cannot stand for his people. He supports those tea baggers who hate us.

  • @kolangiet1 hahahhahahaha, and democrats love us? Pushing abortion in minority neighborhoods?

  • @kolangiet1 You have no idea what you are talking about

  • @kolangiet1 Tea Party has nothing against immigrants. Where do you get this crap?

As a conservative, I constantly tell people how great Mexican immigration is. From my experience they seem to be strong in family values, strong work ethic and ambitious.

I'm confused as to why you would think Tea Party would not like immigrants.

  • he is a traitor to hispanics.

  • @kolangiet1 How?

  • Comment removed

  • @kolangiet1 Oh ok. You're a troll. Shoot, I just wasted some time taking you seriously before.

  • rubio is a pussy who supports assholes who hate us. no somos rubios.

  • @kolangiet1 explain to me how Rubio is a *ussy?

  • Senator Rubio is intelligent and very articulate. I respect his abilities. I voted for him in the hope that he would but his tremendous talent to good use. I am disheartened that he has taken upon himself the cloak of a bad lot. The only thing is this congress that is bipartisan is corruption.

  • Ah forget it

  • This damn cell phones always doing a bad jib of predicting what I type. Not Dubious, Rubio

  • @dfcoinc. Never thought of it that way. How does a state that gives you Marco Dubious and Allan West also give you Debbie Blabbermouth Schultz. Crazy.

  • speaker of the house for florida.

  • marco rubio unlike obama, actually spent 10years in state government, he was also speaker of the house. it seems funny to me, he's some how less hispanic because he didnt support sotomayor, lol, yet hispanic dems arnt condemned for not supporting alberto gonzalez!

  • Remember, Marco Rubio OPPOSED Sonia Sotomayor.

  • @RockyAlvarez1 Thanks for reinforcing my admiration for him!

  • @RockyAlvarez1 I'd oppose a racist of any color as well. She is a racist, stuck-up northeastern liberal who has forgotten where she came from.

  • @RockyAlvarez1 Stop being such a tool, remember all the Dems opposed to Alberto Gonzalez.

  • A fake and a phony. He lied about his parents coming to Cuba after Fidel Castro took power. In reality, they came way before. Funny how the same folks who said Obama did not have the experience to be president, now want Rubio run for President after a year as senator. he is what we call "un Cubano arrepentido." he is ashamed to be a Cuban.

  • I was there. It was amazing. This is the focus that we need. Thank you, Senator!

  • He hates those people.

  • WHY can we not vote for a man like this to be our President? Why do we always get such low quality choices delivered to our ballots? Why can we not have parties and qualified candidates who represent the will of the people, rather than the will of oligarchs and special interests?

  • @ClickHamilton Hope Rubio will run in the next GOP Presidential Primary.

  • Wow...great speech. I hope Washington doesn't change Rubio...he has great passion that will do the country some good.

  • I wish this man were my Senator. Arguably the best speech I've ever heard on legal and illegal immigration. He articulates feelings through words like no one I've ever heard. I hope your my president one day sir. Well done.

  • @njmoreno22 thankful he is my senator because my house rep is debbie wasserman schultz, i guess you cant have it all.

  • @njmoreno22 He is mine- and I am very proud. =)

  • great. as usual i link it.
