@pvdaele Actually if you watch a bit of the dvd Tomas goes on and says the lights are all done by his cousin who has no training in light programming but simply just knows the songs really well
@MikeHodd Really impressed. It's likely easier to trigger the lights from the kick drums (especially on the stroboscopic effects in the beginning) than to find a guy with such a good sense of rhythm and the ability to memorize the music. It is of course more feasible if you have the Haake gene pool to draw from.
@ZenotheMetalWarrior So you're saying that the drum triggers are there (even if it doesn't trigger a sound, it is still mounted to the kit), and that it's easy. (just look up a video called Trigger Lights.wmv from syndr0me31).
What the duck did the bassist do to his bass guitar? Curse it with an old Satanic ritual, shower it in the blood of the innocents, then tune it down to Drop Holy Mother of Fuck? It's actually one of the coolest and most chilling bass guitar sounds I've ever heard.
@rbass311 I find it kinda interesting he actually plays a lot of jazz sessions and prefers using his fingers over picking, but Meshuggah wants him to use a pick so he uses a pick and sounds so fucking badasss with it. I love his bass work.
As far as metal is concerned, no single release has ever been or ever will be more ahead of its time than the None EP. It's nearly inconceivable but infinitely inspirational that this band produced something like it when they did.
My uncle raised me on Metallica at a very young age. I am now raising my 2 nephews on Meshuggah..they're into it HARD! They want to rtfo to them everytime we hang! >: D \m/
At 2:33 I think I wet myself a little. Dang this song is still awesome. 17 years after its release bands are still trying to sound like this today. :)

@ccyanide92 I 'm guessing they connected some of the lighting with drum triggers.

@pvdaele Even if it is easy, Tomas only uses triggers for Bleed. Everything else is the actual bass drums.
