  • When I meditate I have no object in my mind. I just let go of everything in the world and meditate with out thinking but yet let my mind stay natural. I yawn allot but dont get sleepy. I get funny feelings in my head, feels great tho :)

  • sometimes i use meditation right before i go to sleep.. i ussually set my bed on the floor and do a combination of breathing meditation and candlelight meditation until i fall asleep. This helps me a great deal with my sleeping problems along with not eating after sun down

  • Venerable Yuttadhammo, I have tried to meditate sitting strait, first I was aware of my surroundings, then I got aware of my thoughts, then I tried to focus on my breath, but then I kind of was thinking again, not aware of it, but right into the thought. When I realized I was thinking I forgot most of what I was thinking just at that moment, and I realized that I had actually fallen asleep, although sitting straight, not letting my spine relax. What can I do against this? Was i still too tired?

  • Hello, I would like to further my buddhist practice but I feel I need to personally talk to /know a monk. Unfortunetly that isnt easy living in Atlanta Georgia. Do I need to actually find or talk to a monk to become a 'real' buddhist?

  • @garrettparson no. The teachings you will learn in person are the same you will learn here..

  • @garrettparson Why not join up with the Ven. Yuttadhammo's website at my.sirimangalo (dot) org? It's a great online buddhist community that I have joined too, and I know exactly what you mean by not having anything nearby.

  • someone told me you get "cosmic energy" wile in deep meditation. sounds far out for me. but i was wondering if thats true?

  • @Kurzxclan there is a deep and eternal energy that comes from within yourself, perhaps you could call it cosmic. There's nothing mystical or cosmic that i have experienced through meditation but the realisation of self and becoming more and more atuned to your own nature. cosmic energy is a far out term :-)

  • @yozeroz thank you much sir :)
