Youre dumb. The first CTS-V came out in 2004. The E60 came into sales in Europe in the end of 03. The first V was used raped by the E60 M5.
Cadilac built the 09 V around the E60. They literally bought an M5 and engineered a car to beat it. And the V is BARELY faster than a 6 year old M5 in 2009.
Its sad that GM cant even design or engineer their own cars to match their competitors. The F10 is the competition for the CTS V, not the E60. It'll put the V back in its place.
But numbers wont lie. It will put down every single competitor that is currently out there. Just like how the E39 and E60 put down Merc, Audi, and Jag.
Its not till years after the E39 and E60 came out that Mercedes, Audi, Jaguar released their models to try to compete. Merc took 4 years for the E55 AMG to compete with the E39 M5, 3 years to catch the E60 M5. Cadillac took over 5 years to BARELY beat the E60 after the first V was embarassed.

@yourmotherrules - BASE price ZR1 is $130,000 Canadian... I am from Ontario... with the Stupid HST to get a ZR1 Brand New is around $145,000 Before you add on options....
And I am trying to be reasonable.... Not Every ZR1 owner is going to shift perfectly and achieve the best 1/4 or acceleration times etc... Same goes for all cars.... BMW, Corvette, Viper, Lamborghinis, GTRs, Porsche 911's etc....

Youre dumb. The first CTS-V came out in 2004. The E60 came into sales in Europe in the end of 03. The first V was used raped by the E60 M5.
Cadilac built the 09 V around the E60. They literally bought an M5 and engineered a car to beat it. And the V is BARELY faster than a 6 year old M5 in 2009.
Its sad that GM cant even design or engineer their own cars to match their competitors. The F10 is the competition for the CTS V, not the E60. It'll put the V back in its place.

But numbers wont lie. It will put down every single competitor that is currently out there. Just like how the E39 and E60 put down Merc, Audi, and Jag.
Its not till years after the E39 and E60 came out that Mercedes, Audi, Jaguar released their models to try to compete. Merc took 4 years for the E55 AMG to compete with the E39 M5, 3 years to catch the E60 M5. Cadillac took over 5 years to BARELY beat the E60 after the first V was embarassed.

@med1491 You got your generations wrong. The W210 E55 was the competitor for the E39 M5, which both debuted in the same year. Then the W211 E55 which came in 03, then the E60 came out a year later. And currently we have the W212 E63 and the F10 M5 which has yet to reach production.

@MrJeepin420style i didnt say it was faster, "basically the same". im going based on Motortrends information....lap time 58.5(M5) 58.1(CTS-V). Driven an M5 Automatic, when Cad comes out with a transmission where it changes gears to a point that u think u broke the clutch or snapped the drive shaft, ill consider a test drive....thats as far as ill go. ill give ya a point tho for the 540i, Im guessing u own one or have owned one.

It is more worthwile buying this beast than the E92 M3, at a lssser price with better performance. Thos people who talk of the M3 being faster than the M5 are dumb. In fact the M6 is fractionally faster than the M5 and I think it a lighter shell and perhaps even has a lesser drag coefficient.
