One of the best movie rants ever, and the thing about it is, Caffey (Cruise) was correct--at the time. But Jo's (Moore's) intuition turned out to be spot-on. Great movie.
Tom Cruise does meltdown scenes really well. And this one featuring a character who is drunk, soaked, and written by Aaron Sorkin help make this one of his best.
@tinkerfairy72- One wonders. He eventually got around to doing a meltdown scene for real, when he jumped on that couch. Weird. I don't care much for Cruise personally, but he's probably a better actor than I'll ever be.
"Advice of the gallactically stupid" in A Few Good Men and "Big Fucking Erect Penis" in Born on the 4th of July... The two most powerful performances of Tom Cruise. I´m not a big fan of his but I´m sure he can have an occasional moment of brilliance...
Cruise should have won an Oscar for this movie...It should be used in all acting classes..the guy was amazing! Say what you will about him, but the guy can act..
@pacman4425 too bad he became nuttier than a fruitcake.....in any case, he was one of the most iconic actors of the late 80's - early 90's and it is a shame to see the a-hole he is today
yeah man that's what i tought when i see this best acting from tom cruise this is the best amazing scene of artist acting from tom criuse .. the best moment of his carrer from tom cruise this scene .. enjoy it

This is probably one of the funniest things Cruise has ever done, yet at the same time it's such a sad monologue of resignation.

I wonder how he came up with the "Rocko Columbo" school idea out of all he possible sarcastic places he could have chosen.

Tinkerfairy72. Tom Cruise didn't have a melt down moment in his very first movie Legend, with Tim Curry and Mia Sara.

Forget "You can't handle the truth", this is the best part of the movie.
