there is a very cheap sulfate free shampoo by super drug's own brand. i use that as sulfate(s) is/are terrible for curly hair. they also do a conditioner without any silicone in it, as that can dry out your curls as well.

@musicislife161616 Use colour friendly shampoo and conditioners, invest in some expensive ones if you really want to. You can also mix some dye into your conditioner to help it stay vibrant. x

I actually got my hair professionally dyed a red and it looks AMAZING and it hasn't faded or anything. I'm using a shampoo and conditioner that is made for color treated hair. D: I love red hair. :)

@emowhore101 Try not to wash it every day, you'll end up spending a lot more money than you need to re dying it. Invest in some good spray in conditioners that you can use rather than washing perhaps? It will fade within 2 - 3 weeks if you wash it every day. I washed mine every other day, sometimes leaving it 4 days and it would last a month :) x

@BenSeviyorumSeni Don't worry that happens to everyone. After a few washes it will be back to normal. If you want it out right away rub some shampoo into your scalp. But don't rub too much into your hair or it will fade your red. xxx

@maddieandkkluv2sing Your lucky, with blonde hair you'll easily be able to go bright red. If you wanted to. You could probably either use affinage b red with the lowest vol developer they do or just put a bright red dye like special effects devilish over your natural hair and it might take :) x

In that first of all I left head and shoulders anti dandruff shampoo in for a while, then used a extra strength colour stripper, and then bleached :) The last part depends on what colour you are aiming to go after red though. xxxx

I just dyed my hair this color and I was just wondering how long I should wait to wash my hair after dying it? I dyed it Sunday night, and was planning to wash it Friday night(23rd) or Saturday morning(24th).My hair is naturally greasy and I'm taming it with baby powder, however sometimes it gets to the point that even baby powder can't save it. What I was originally thinking was to wash it today (Wednesday) and then again Saturday morning on the 24th... I need your opinion!. Help!!! Thanks!

Wish I could dye my hair one bright colour again, but I already need a special shampoo and hairmasks 'cause I have curls and bleach my hair sometimes to put copper highlights in it, so it gets reaaaaally dry and splits. My hair used to be the same color as yours. What I did for maintenance between colorings was I would add some Manic Panic in Pillar Box Red to my shampoo.That way the shampooing process wasn't harmful and it would give the color a nice all over rejuvination, and one jar of the Manic Panic would absolutely ages bc it didn't take much to mix in with my shampoo. Also, it's not that expensive to begin with.

Any Shampoo and Conditioner system without sulfate is really good for dyed hair. This used to be limited to more expensive brands, so that's probably what you're referring to, however, L'Oreal now makes a sulfate free line which is absolutely fabulous on the hair. They even have one directly for dyed hair.

You're so right about people deciding that bright hair means they can just start talking to you. Luckily I'm never alone so my friends can whisk me away if things get too weird. Though a 70 year old bald guy told me he wishes he had hair to dye it as bright as mine lol.

I have jet black hair so I would have to bleach my hair before and I really don't want to bleach my hair again because last I did it, it took like years for it to be healthy again. Is there like a safer hair product that would make my hair lighter so I could do this?

@shutupjonae69 My hair was very hard to lighten also, luckily it did not damage it too much though. But to avoid damage now I do not bleach it. I use Affinage B Red, mixed with developer and my hair feels wonderful after I use it! Check out the video on my channel about it. More red hair info videos coming soon also. xxxx

You should try Henna. And sulfate free shampoo because it wont strip you hair of color as much.
