Guess the NBC exec never learned the moral of the Dewey/Truman election: don't count your chickens before they're hatched! Personally, I'd be more willing to see a miniseries such as this one than "Peter the Great" - no contest! :)

I just love all of Joan and Marisa's outfits. I remember reading that Joan's 85 costume changes set a record for a single production at the time.
