the presenter looks like a korean. i am surprised.
concerning their worry, let me state two things, first, cultural exchange is inevitable in globalized age. second, even though korea was significantly influenced by western culture, still koreans keep their own traditional idea and customs, so don't worry too much!!!!
NE people starting to like asian movies , cultures , looks wateva bcoz they r asians lol !!! Asian liking asians bot a big deal , before 50 - 60 yrs back it was also not part of india ,
Im heading to Nagaland pretty soon. One thing I would say is that the pastor interviewed is practicing a form of globalization in his religion. His clothing is also quite western as well. I am excited to do some research and thank you for creating this video.
lol ,i m from Assam and even here everybody love Korean stuffs . i believe it`s because we have lot of things in common(not only with Korea but whole of SE Asia). for eg we love our pork and rice ,not to mention our looks, and the way we speak our language. but it is really not a matter of concern, because we'r firmly rooted to our culture and tradition just like young people from any part of India. and yeah we north easterner are proud Indians too , just ignore the minuscule separatist morons
Korean wave is not only hitting Nagaland...but whole of North east India. Infact many likes Hollywood and bollywood as well...but korean films are being liked more these days
I honestly am astonished why Manipur would ban bollywood. Surely we have the right to watch whatever we want right? The irony here is we are still allowing the culture of Manipur to erode. Replacing Bollywood with Hallywu is not going to preserve Manipur's customs if thats the intention. I may also comment on the lavish lifestyle although they cannot afford half the items worn by Korean actors. An immersion of different cultures can make us innovative whilst still preserving ones own.
"culture" is not the right word !! seriously !! how can movies, music, soaps and all be culture ?? koreans too have their own cluture !! come on, its just an export of their "entertainment industry", with "burma" being the middle man !! because all the korea stuffs we get ?? are made of Burma !!!!!!!!!!!!
Korean wave also hit India's manipur state mainly thanks to Bollywood is banned from Manipur state. Watch the video at BBC Close-Up: A little corner of Korea in India
LoL these people look more East Asian than the average Indian. Kind of makes sense, that they embrace another culture associated with people that look like them while rejecting India's culture.
@gpardhu I'm aware of the diverse cultures in India. It's just I remember hearing years ago the people in Nagaland were trying to fight the mainstream Hindi culture. Because it was threatening their identity. I just find it ironic that they embrace Korean culture a lot more easily.
@abh3092 I agree with that just look at India's entertainment industry and I don't mean Bollywood. Manipur only needs to be proud of its customs thats all. There is no need to ban any other culture or custom. The more we are exposed to the more creative we become.
@plokkr123 I would call it Bollywood culture rather than Hindi. Hindi is the spoken language of most North and Central Indians. Hindu per say is not confined to India and has manifested itself in different cultures. Remember the champas in Vietnam they were a prominently large influential empire with a large Hindu following. Alongside we have the native Bon religion and Therevadha Buddhism. Yet we have embraced a militant type American Christianity from American christian charities.
well ur upset because kids nowadays r dressin better???? its just that they love the actors and movies so they dress like them....when we have a celebrity icon we try n imitate them....u've done it n i have done it too....aint nobody gonna dress half naked no more....it dnt mean they forget their culture...its in their blood.....
Shit! India's losing on all fronts. We can't afford to lose the Nagas. Lovely people.

"Korean culture" shown here is imitated American culture.
The native Naga language is Sino-Tibetan and such is their race, however the official language is English and most are Christian.

ZarathuPower, most people of North east India (primarily a tribal region) have mongoloid features (Nagas belong to Indo-Mongoloid family),
the reason why they might look like Koreans/Chinese or people of any other Far eastern country.

They look like Thais, Tibeto- Burmese to me. Their skin is rather dark for east asians.
