I noticed a slight "glitch in the rudder when you hit your flap switch--do you have digital servos in the Corsair? This could give you fits-I had to swap out mine for analog 9G's--now she's smooth as glass.
In short, they create lift and the byproduct of lift, drag. By using flaps to change the shape and size of the wing, the aircraft can take off and land at slower speeds, thus allowing shorter take offs and landings than it could if it did not have flaps.
Nice one mate got to see them work a lot better this time, i have this bird aswell and the flaps do look the part but i don't think it needs them but each to there own and 5* for a great job well done.
Landings go really nice. Even with the wind it slows it down good. 'when the flaps go down the planes noses up but after that it flies normal, but slower.
i have the same plane....you dont need the flaps for take off or landing on this one....it flies just great right out of the box, i just put bigger wheels on mine for grass runways
I used the 5th channel on my DX5e. The switch on the front of the transmitter is the high and low rate switch. For the flaps, it is all the way up or all the way down.
Sweet!

@ThePolevault I think that the twitching was me just bumping the stick. As for the servo, i believe i still had the parkzone ones in there.

I thought the esc would only take up to 5 servos? Do you have an external bec on it?

How are landings and takeoffs? Don't the flaps cause a pretty nasty nose down attitude?

why dont u use an dx6i and let the elevator go down if you activate the flaps?
i use by my corsair the alieron for flaps and the elevator is programmed that it go down if i activate the flaps
Stormi2009 2 years ago
do you really need the flaps

Hey bud, Excellent video!
I'm looking at modifying my T28 trojan with flaps but I have never done any similar projects. Can you please make a video on how to add flaps?
Thanks a million
ehsanaman222 2 years ago
he only used two servos for the flaps and you just Y them into one channel, that would be channel number five.
superstocktx 2 years ago
but when you click the high and low rate dosen't it change all the controls

Why did your rudder move with the right stick. What mode do you fly, mode 2 has left stick rudder?
brettwrb 3 years ago
It didn't. For some reason the picture is reversed. Just look at the number on the side of the plane.
gerrabath 3 years ago
oh wow, you're right! Weird.

how did u put flaps on it
redman282 3 years ago
Flaps are about as far as you can go. Spoilerons can cause a wing tip stall and crash.
bladecpfreek 3 years ago
can you program your radio???. Then you can have spoilerons too and airbrakes. that one cool plane/
