Yeah AC-7 is cool but it doesn't support the iPhone, doesn't do portrait mode, doesn't support 32 channels, doesn't do instant resume, no pads, no xy controller, no 100mm faders, etc... It's cool if you don't care much, in that case get ProTransport, it's 8 dollars.
For those that don't see the use, think FoH. Imagine going around the club with an ipad/pod in your hand and being able to adjust the mixer without running around or using hand signals to someone else. (more for small setups, local-ish bands, churches, theater troupes, that kind of thing).
Doesn't need to be bluetooth, because that would only give it a 30' range vs anywhere the wifi signal reaches. 4 portable u just need to pick up a cheep router, slap WPA password and only ur stuff gets on.
this looks kinda cool, but there is no way i would pay 100$ for it, if i could get a cracked version i would just use it as more of a novelty than anything, i have a feeling, for most of purposes, you could get things done much quicker with just a mouse and a keyboard

Oh really?! If that's the case, then we're definitely interested. So long as it can work with Cubase 4 or above, on Windows XP 32bit or 64bit, it's perfect.
I also wanted to ask if there are any licensing options? Now we've seen ProRemote, we are considering hiring a full-time sound engineer for live gigs to control our submix via an iPod Touch. I can't think of anything more perfect than being able to walk around the room, mixing to perfection.
I ask about licensing because no one would want to entrust our own iPods with someone we don't know, purely because ProRemote was installed there. So if there's a 3-user license, or an ability to move registration from iPod to iPod, that'd be great.
I'd also like to make a suggestion/request for future revisions of ProRemote if I may. If it could also be made to run over Bluetooth, that'd get rid of WiFi restrictions, and enable it to be used anywhere, which would certainly be useful and attractive to future customers.
At 1:22, you can see a channel with signal frezze, ???, and you will see in the 3:52: the mix window in the computer have a 7 faders no continuos in rec mode, but in the iPhone are 7 faders continuos, jajaja, swindler!!!!
First off. It's not signal freeze, it's image latency.
Data is recieved rather quickly, but the iphone has to render the image, it takes time. So sometimes the meters don't bounce for a moment. Not exactly a tragedy.
Second, it's an image problem with the early version of the software. Sometimes a button blinked when it wasn't supposed to.
If you actually owned the software, you'd know what you're talking about.
While this would be a handy track while recording drums, it is a little pricey especially with VNC out.
"anti-piracy built into the app" Seriously dude, if you think that stops crackers, you would be employed by every record company and game company in the world.
I didn't say anything about stopping people from cracking the app- I said it contains anti-piracy code that once the code is cracked will make the experience miserable for all involved. I certainly know how to protect my app as I too can crack virtually any code out there.
I would love to see a version with bigger click-targets (less fiddly)
Also, being able to switch between vertical view (longer faders) and horizontal view (more faders visible at once).
Also nice: if there are buttons to quickly jump to a group of 4-8 faders, and have the layout locked so that you don't accidentally move to the right or left.
Also, the pan-pots look unconvenient: In 1:34, you seem to try and move them, but instead you move the screen.
I'm confused as to why you would want FCP remote on the iPhone. I personally have been in situations where I was controlling protools/logic from the studio booth while tracking drums, so I can see the need there, but why would I want to run FCP from the other room? Or am I missing something?
True; however, I personally do some rough foley/music spotting on synth while in FCP and it would facilitate that for me as I do these things away from the workstation with FCP.

Why not get the Light Edition? It's $20 and runs on your iPad and iPhone.

Splintered Soul would dearly like to get this app, but with no Windows support, it's a real shame! That's where the majority of customers are.

Windows support is in beta- I would have released it already but I can't get my driver to work properly with ProTools. Every other DAW works fine...

Get your head out your arse and stop believing this ONLY works with ProTools.
Wow, it's true! There are other DAW's! Idiot

Has my dream of being able to control my monitor mix from behind the kit finally come true? I'm so stoked about this I can't even find the words.

I wish something like that could control Ultrabeats step input.

The latency for this control surface is the same or less than a real physical controller. Either way the latency is far under human reaction time.
Also in response to cracked versions of ProRemote- be aware that this software has its own anti-piracy built into the app.

Fantastic concept & adaptation to iPhone, which I have really enjoyed since July 11. However, I'm not hearing any audio with this utube clip.
I'm looking forward to a version for MOTU Digital Performer, and Final Cut Pro!
