@DJonX7 cost too much. people are bitching about the f35 purchase, to develop a stealth airframe would take years a billions upon billions. on top of that the learning curve no one here has built a fighter since the Arrow..... I would support becoming a partner with japans ShinShin though.
@Baseshocks It's people like you that hold us back. We spend 1.1% of our GDP on the Military. The US spends nearly 5% on its military. We could easily afford it.
@DJonX7 not even the U.K is developing fighters on their own. Creating new aircraft is not cheap. If were going to fly 300 airframes minimum maybe it will be worth it anything less would be a waste of money. The F22 costs 250 or so million a airframe maybe more with high maintenance because the numbers are soo small. Japan is looking for partners with its ShinShin and they have a few. Russia and China can make them cheap because of cheap labor. tecc get paid less too.
@DJonX7 i would love a increase in military spending to at least 2% it is what we promised when NATO was formed. 5% is crazy i still would love it but realistically not going to happen for at least 20 years if at all. You have to look at it realistically to what the average Canadian would agree with.
@1JAMESGARROW No, there are no RCAF pilots that fly F-16s. If Canada has the need for aggressors, the use either their own CF-18s flown by RCAF pilots, or they use the civilian company Top Aces, who are ex-military pilots who fly the Dassault/Dornier Alpha Jets.
@1JAMESGARROW The RCAF designations for those transport aircraft are the CC-177, the CC-130 and the CP-140. The F is only used on fighter aircraft, and the C represents cargo, and the P represents patrol. Also, Canada has many aircraft for the military, but we current only have around 20 TYPES of aircraft.
I've got the biggest fucking hard on right now!

@DJonX7 I've always wanted to. That's why I'm going to become a rich bastard so I can employ Canadians to be bad ass motherfuckers.

We have F-16's?
MikeNoran 5 months ago
@MikeNoran Nope, Canada only has CF-18s. The F-16s in the video would belong to another country's air force.

@ftrCFplt That's what I was thinking.
Thanks!
