The SNES music is better? You've got to be kidding me. The instruments they picked are so grinding and piercing and just about every track in the game uses the same ones. The PSX/Saturn soundtrack is so superior it's not even close.
The power level things make no sense. How was that final Sigma form supposed to have the highest speed? The thing moved like a limbless elephant in a pool of superglue.
Personally only real pet peeve about this game is the buster upgrade that forces X to stop whenever he fires the fully charged shots (carries from X2 really), making it such misery trying to time your charges to get the usual big blast only instead of those lousy green and yellow balls. That and the uninspired special weapons.

I don't care for some things in the 16-bit classic series.
I'd recomendation would be MORTAL KOMBAT!!! although i dought that recomendations are being taken at the moment untill MMX9 (when it comes out, if you get that game and if you decide to LP it.
I don't know which Megaman games you have left to play, but for boss rush music, how about the Flashdance theme? The version from Dance Dance Revolution would be good for this.
Also, the ride armor system is completely pointless, the only thing you use them for is just to backtrack even more and get more items that should have been available from the start. And Zero should have been fully playable. D:
Excellent playthrough, and I agree with you about this game. Lots of poor decisions on Capcom's part... You shouldn't have to defeat all of the bosses to get the upgrades you should have been able get your first time through. It's almost as though they added all of this stuff just to make the game seem longer. In X1 if you know what you're doing you only need to backtrack once or twice (if even that) and you can live without the extra upgrades until then. This one is frustrating without them.
Whoever posted that thing about Nightwish has horrid taste in music. You should play the Trooper by Iron Maiden. Greatest boss rush theme in the universe. Its swell.

The thing that says "(...) must destroy Zero" is actually, a mistranslation of the japanese version. I really says that X will have to fight Zero, no more else. I get surprised too when I read that, "hell, he's a good guy too. it cannot be!!!" Well Capcom (in Japan) stated that too: "Well X will fight Zero, plain and simple"
@ClementJ642 The controls are way too much of a pain not to mention the voice acting. So how can you like x7 better then x6 as I find the former more frustrating as X6 might be hard, but it is playable. I couldn't even stand X7 enough to finish it.

X6 is the most frustrating game I've ever played. it's all luck. Sometimes shit will just block your path and you'll have to go out of the level and kill time elsewhere while waiting for the virus to move somewhere's else so you can go back in and get what you need to progress. Not to mention the ridiculousness of most of the boss fights. Some of them can kill you in one hit. Even at full health with everything.
The only MMX game I despise so far, is just X7. I Swear it is the hardest MMX game to date. I just can't seem to beat more than 2 bosses. The way the game plays is so different and the enemies are extremely annoying. I loved X6 compared to X7. X6 was fun.
What you said about Sigma being impossible reminds me of Mega Man 7 when I try to beat Dr. Wily's second form in the final stage without ANY E-tanks. It just seems impossible for me...
