Roes anyone 'member when we 1st saw them on the Ed Sullivan show? A friend's father brought a record ('member them?) back from a trip to England about 8 months before that. She liked it so much that she wanted me to hear it too. I just loved it & went around school whistling it. Everyone wanted to know what it was I was whistling b'cuz they loved it so, so much. Several months later we all got to hear them on Ed Sullivan and I truly never met anyone who didn't fall in love w/them.

pastromthor thinks the beatles weren't talented??? what a knucklehead! paul is probably the best bass player of the modern era (1950 forward). ringo was an excellent drummer. john was a poet who did a pretty good job on guitar, and he and paul were master craftsmen of hook-filled songs. "difficult to play" doesn't make music good (or bad, for that matter). look at how many great albums they created in seven years. no one else comes close. period.

Ok, I love this song. Really. It's one of my favorites, from my favorite Beatles era, so there you go. However, the claim that they had talent (at least musically) is a little generous. None of their music is particularly difficult to play, but they could pump out the tunes like no one's business.
@pastromthor - McCartney's bass lines are pretty tricky. And, they're doing really tight 3-part harmony at the same time. On the surface, it's simple, but when you dig in it's harder than it seems. ;)

Rock was young...and so were we..its our rock history.. Its important to introduce "them", to the younger generations, so they too, can listen & appreciate great music, which will make it live on forever...i.e. Rock band, Guitar hero, ipod......etc....:o)

My Dad brought me their first album when i was 8 . I'd seen them o n Ed Sullivan and LOVED them ! When Hard days night , came out , Dad took us to the drive in ... Miss those days .
