The sbred horse has three strides. The hobbles actually help the horse stay straight and not hit themselves and get hurt. Trotters and pacers are different we had a half trotter/half pacer and she could do both easily most horses trot when jogging then pace at speed they do gallop. It is different breeding for a trotter and a pacer.

Very painful to watch. But I like that they had horsemen out there to catch the runaway horses! Seems a lot more effective than the bumbling about I experienced a few years back with a panicking STB. That said - WTF, they FORCE the horses to pace by binding their legs together?! Where the heck is the profit in that?

@Nizingur my stb is a free legged pacer and doesnt need "hopples"...People forget they are bred for this exact reason and most like mine loves to race!

@MrBabyBearxxx Doesn't "need" it is one thing! I own a STB myself and he only paces if his brain "glitches" when we're out and about and gets stressed. Most races he's been in he'll be trotting. It's interesting stuff that! Pacers are quite rare over here, 99% of all STBs are trotters. So you're saying that they race faster at a pace? My baby does have American ancestry (his dad was Express Ride) and he racks as well, which is probably why he's got a bit of a pace sometimes.

We may as well take every car off the roads and walk seeing thousands are killed each yr. The US can ban guns seeing it is the murder capital alongside India worldwide. The only one with any clue about racing is browser that track can race 10 wide at a squeeze 9 easily. The horses are tended to straight away and the race was able to be completed without running over the fallen horses. For the retard that said their in jog carts get ur facts this is Australia/ new zeland racing that is there cart not the American style ont the American one is banned. And for f**k sake not too many horses look the first fall is the horse himself and the second is accident. Retar

@bahaamh You have no idea do you. Race horses get better treated than most humans. There is nothing wrong with horse racing, horses actually enjoy it as that is what horses do. RUN. Every sport has its dangers even with humans alone. The major use of horses is racing and if there was none of that, then horses would be culled, so your point is invalid.

natürlich ist das Pass! und seh ich auch so, sollte man sehen, wenn man Ahnung hat :-) Leute im Ernst, schaut nochmal in Ruhe drüber! Vielleicht mal die Monitore überprüfen? Wenn ihr da irgendwo Trab seht, meldet's schnell der Rennleitung, damit sie das betroffene Pferd noch disqualifizieren können :-) In den USA sind Passer vor dem Sulky sehr beliebt, auch wenn's für europäische Augen seltsam aussieht.

Das is so ...die Pferde müssen ziemlich schwer verletzt gewesen sein, wenn sie dort liegen bleiben bzw.so still dort liegen. Ich hoff echt das passiert meinem Traber niemals & ich will das mit sicherheit nich live sehen

they're doing it all wrong! who in the right mind would race 10 horses on a track that only goes 5 horses wide and race in jog carts... this is just stupid!
