i really feel bad for foye now that he plays for the wiz. last year he was averaging like 16 pts in 35 minutes this year he is only playing 18 minutes and averaging 7pts so i think the washinton is a bad fit fot him
This is only his first year with the wizards give him some time and he'll adjust well into the wizards offense. Keep in mind, that Randy was playing under the wings of Gilbert Arenas, and Caron Butler and now that their both gone, Randy should have an opportunity to grow and probably be the wizards new franchise player.
too bad that Randys getting traded in the off-season. Really wanted him to stay, but the Wiz is full of point guards. And they need to trade for a core big man
Like I have been saying.. I've watched Foye since he was a rookie.. he's severely underrated and the Wiz are going to be awesome. I'm a Wizard's fan now!
well of course i know he's fast i just dont think he`ll keep up with arenas, before his whole surgery thing foye was speedy quick, now he uses more size when he attacks the basket, but im not taking anything away from him hes still quick/fast
to be honest foye nor arenas are true point guards, but i think gilbert can play the 1 better than foye, and gilbert is faster than foye, gives a better edge when running the floor
yea we all know that...but the deciding is who is better at the 2 and thats gilbert so foye at the 1 gil at the 2 caron at the 3 jamison at the 4 and bradon at the 5 and miller and young r the main bench players...
i still believe having a better point guard is more important than having a better shooting guard, having a player run the floor for your team is the key thing in winning ball games, although i agree that gilbert plays the 2 better than foye, he also plays the 1 better than foye, gilbert is better than foye in almost every aspect, gilbert will draw more attention at the 1 leaving open players to set up.
nah you got it backwards...yes gilbert is a better point guard but gilbert needs to be at the two...it was his main position outta college and yes it is tru that having a bette pg is more important...and gilbert will draw more attention at the 2 cuz all he need to do there is score...at the 1 he'll be limited to being pass first instead of shoot first...
well i guess we both have valid points, because gilbert has better ball handling and quicker, its harder for certain point guards to keep up, randy foye is slow and cannot set up players as well as gilbert, and if you didnt know foye started as a 2 at villanova and then switched to point later on also, but bottom line is gilbert is the main man and whether he plays the 2 or 1 i think he`ll be effective in either positions
woah woah woah...foye is not slow at all..and yes he did play the two in nova...but he has the body size of a 1...he's too small to play the 2 in the NBA... and gilbert is an oversized point so he can play the 2...but gilbert would be more effective at the 2 cuz all he has to do is focus on scoring...at the point he has to get everybody involved and last yr in the few games he played he was being a tru point but he only had like 15...
how is gilbert oversized? they are both 6`4"... so as a matter of fact foye is actually bigger than gilbert, gilbert is smaller than foye, im not saying foye is slow liek shaq but at the 1 he isnt too fast looking from the likes of it, hes quick but not fast, gilbert is not only quick, but fast also, being a 1 requires speed, agility, and vision from what i see gilbert has all three i dont see why he wouldnt start at the 1 hes a pretty good point guard
and to add what i said on the last comment, 6`4 isnt really undersized at the two their are plenty of shooting guards around that height, and yeah you know that guy dwyane wade, yeah hes 6'4
ok your starting to talk out of your ass...the average PG is 6'2 - 6'3 and the average SG is 6'6 or taller...ok wade is 6'4 but he has ups and he's probably top 3 in the fastest players in the league...and foye is not bigger than gilbert...foye is 6'3...and a tru point guard and a tru shooting guard has all those attributes you just named...the difference....SCORING...if gilbert runs the 1 he has to put his scoring on the back burner and any smart fan would never allow that...
okay now youre getting sensitive, i didnt wanna make this emotional for you, but this is alll opinion, we all know that being a point doesnt necessarily mean you have to put down youre scoring, if thats the case chris paul, deron williams, baron davis, mo williams shouldnt be scoring at the level theyre at, all the wizards need arenas to do is put up at least 18 ppg due to the fact that they already have butler and jamison, you cant really expect arenas to drop 20+ like he used to, do you?
they are both around the same height maybe a 1 in. difference. im talking aobut theyre size not height, if you look at dejuan blair hes like 6'7, thats a 3 height but his size and rebounding ability puts him at the 4, foye has more size as a sg than arenas, im not saying that arenas cant play the 2, that is his primary position afterall i dont really give care whos better at what, i just want arenas to be healthy end of story, no more debating, cause obviously we're not coming to an end on this
and even if arenas does play sg (which can most-likely happen), and say he does drop 20+ a night, do you wanna risk arenas getting injured again working too hard? as an arenas fan i wouldnt wanna see that, foye is much younger and as capable as arenas is when it comes to scoring, so whether arenas or foye plays the 2 i could care less, as long as arenas doesnt over work himself, this is my last statement whether you agree or not its fine im not up for argument
fist off youmake it sound like gilbetr is 35...he's like 27 28....and you must be retarded if you think foye is just as capable as arenas when it comes to scoring...there not even in the smae catergory, and gilbert is not going to hurt himself becuz if you keep up with the wzards you wuld have known the fip saunders said when he saw gilbert in the gym, you couldnt tell if he's injured, and he lso said he has his quickness back....im done cuz you dont know what ur talking about...
first of all i never made any implication on gilberts age so you definetly read it wrong or just getting the wrong idea, and flip just said that, cause maybe hes his coach ever thought of that? you think a coach is gonna tell the media "oh yeah i dont think hes ready to play he looks rusty", no hes gonna obviously make it sound like hes ready to play, thats what they did to him last season, and this is a debate not an argument, calling people a retard obviously doesnt make you seem any smarter
and when i said foye is as capable, meaning if he worked on his game he can be as efficient as arenas, have you not seen foye at his best? you seriously dont think he could score? so YOU obviously dont know what youre talking about foye is young and has potential gilbert is aging, wade is 28 he came back from injury better than before, but its rare for that to happen to many players you cant expect arenas to come back better he was at his BEST, im done cause youre just ignorant
im ingnorant? son you just said that foye is just as capable as gibert..and if you meant he canbe as efficient then you used the wrong word in the wrong conext smart guy....and wherein my comment did i say he cant score? i said he's not in the same catergory when it comes to scoring as gibert....your not a wiz fan cuz your saying so oblivious stuff right now..
i never said i was a wiz fan wise guy, and i never said they were on the same category, im just saying foye is able to drop 20 a night with ease with the right players around him end of story no more arguing please, we obviously are on the wrong page and we're not gonna come to an end on this, so im done, personally id like to see both of them prosper within the 2009-2010 season regardless of what position they play, i hope with wizs will make the post season too, so end of story im done goodbye
ummm anybody can drop 20 a night with the right squad...and the way you were talking yo gave the impression that they were in the same catergory...but whaever...
and gilbert only averaged career lows in scoring was because of his injuries, not because he wasnt good at the point, as a matter of fact in the 2008-2009 season, he only played 2 games, and within those two games he averaged 10 assists per game, total of 20 assists within two games, now if thats not a good point guard what is?
now, im not saying this to make you agree with me, its just from my perspective. i understand what youre saying too, you have valid points but i just disagree with you, no hard feelings or anything like that
Well we pretty much unloaded ALL our big men so this better pay off... I also think that we should make a push for signing Rasheed Wallace, He will bring leadership, bigman defense/rebounding, and the 3 point shot... But everyone knows the wizards refuse to sign big name FA's
i mean i think he just needs that veteran leadership basically to take him to the next level. Jamison and Butler will provide that i think. He is 25 bout to be 26 so that makes me wonder if he's maxed out but we'll see what happens in Wash. I had my doubts but hopefully some of this can help my Wizards out more than DeShawn can.

Yah i agree, hes no brandon roy yet, needs a little more experience and than Foye can become a dominatnt 2 guard. Sucks hes so small for a SG because he always gets destroyed by Kobe or Wade. He had a good night tonight agiainst Indiana though

Gilbert can play the 2. That's where he started out at Golden State. The question is does Caron start over Mike Miller?
