Maybe they are wowsers however they are entitled to privacy although street view public places, they are entitled to privacy especially when certainly local councils may not allow them to add fences etc. We have laws that prevent people from taking photos of children in public places for obvious reasons even though they are in a public place and photography is part of freedom of expression. Not having a go at yoy and hard as it may be, bite the bullet and accept it.

I'm still waiting for 'cycling' to be an option on google maps, and for urban trails to be added to the walkable/cycleable map.

A lot of cities publish their cycling urban trails, so I think it's a matter of getting bike route data from places like translink (in vancouver/victoria BC) or partnering with the trail mapping websites such as bikely and mapmyride.
