Thanks for the upload! The Beatles are the best band, by far, ever. I'd have to agree with George Harrison RIP, when he said Revolver and Rubber Soul could be considered, like part 1 & 2 of the sessions at that time. Great Job!
Just a quick thanks blue and a well done on the excellent quality. The best Beatles album will forever be a debate...this certainly is one of my favorites and I am grateful for your time in posting it..Thumbs totally up Man! \/ Peace
When this album was released it was the first application of backwords recording (Tomorrow Never Knows). People thought that there must have been somthing wrong with their albums and thousands of people returned their albums only to find out that is how it was supposed to sound.
That the Beatles did in fact record backwords on purpose.
@nightowlhunter2 nah it wasn't i think they did something like that on rubber soul or on a single i know they did to Rain, the single, which was released before this album im pretty sure
@atirisdes| Couldn't disagree more, the lyrics are very good and powerfull, just think about For No One and Elenor Rigby, you just can't say those songs ahve bad lyrics!

except for taxman and the last track (which should last at least half the side) this is not a good album. the lyrics are silly. they seem to have been written by a 15 year old. the influences from other types of music are brought with ridiculous timidity and blendness. the sound in general is weak. this is only a transition album from the early beatles to the late beatles. i prefer the first albums in which they did what they really could do or the last ones in which they were freer than here
@atirisdes dude when they were changing from pop to psychedelic rock, they had like the best music and this was in started in 1966 before sgt peppers was released

it is very difficult to find a band whith such a wide range of music styles that is still commercial; I mean it´s impossible... there is only one: the Beatles!!
@tomste89 I´ve never heard of them but I don´t doubt that they are not as good as the Beatles anyway Queen was a very commercial group with a incredible wide range ..
@elaleph100 I think the pre-plane crash Lynyrd Skynyrd was more diverse than perhaps some people know, though not as diverse as the Beatles. LS was also consistently VERY high quality-like the Beatles.
it is very difficult to find a band with a such a wide range of music styles that is still commercial.... I mean it´s impossible; there is only one: the Beatles!
Taxman, Im only sleeping, she said she said, your bird can sing & tomorrow never knows = right up there with the best music ever recorded. Quite like yellow submarine, Dr Roberts & I want to tell you, too.
The rest I could very happily go my whole life never hearing again.
its amazing how hard the Beatles pushed the boundaries of popular music in such a short space of time... some of the ideas utilized on Revolver would have been inconceivable just some four years prior to this
the whole 'best band' thing is somewhat frivolous, but to me, the beatles beat out zepp and floyd (both of which I like better, btw), if this discussion has to be had, because they essentially founded several genres of rock music... "Helter Skelter" arguably started metal, for example.
Hey i also love Zeppelin and Pink Floyd. Pink Floyd were one of the first real psychedelic rock bands, and Zeppelin IS metal. But in all honesty, the Beatles were the most important band in history. They practically changed the world with their music. But then again that's just my opinion.
Zeppelin, Floyd, and the Stones. The Stones LP's were great. If you really dig Revolver take a listen to Aftermath and Between the Buttons. I actually prefer Between the Buttons to Revolver.
Look, the Stone Roses are great, Radiohead is great. But this is indisputably the greatest album of all time. Listen to the stereo remaster of "Tomorrow Never Knows" and try to disagree wth me. Yes, he seemed to like doing those little Eastern embellishments as a nod to George in his contributions to George's songs. Reminds me of the Indian spiralling he does in his solo on 'Taxman'.
I seen this rated the best album on RYM and I wanted to see what's the fuzz, my reaction is that it's a very solid album, quit revolutionary for that time, but it's not the best by a long shot, I heard so many better albums, but after this is the Betles, of course everybody will choose them over let's say from manics - tell me your truth..., which I consider to be one of the finest creations in music
the manics album in question is "this is my truth..tell me yours" and it's a generalised pop album..i'm a massive manics fan but the holy bible is the superior album from them..still falling sort of revolver or any works by the beatles
the holy bible is quite experimental, I enjoy better this is..., but still that was just an example, radiohead has in my opinion two albums superior to revolver: bends and computer, still if I should pick a classic album that is better than revolver, that is pet sounds, simply more better songs overall, but I respect those opinions who say this the best one, it's a matter of personal opinion
I love Pet Sounds, and Radiohead is my favorite contemporary band, have seen them live 7 times, but none of the records you mentioned would exist without the leaps made by The Beatles on REVOLVER. Actually, Brian Wilson's inspiration for Pet Sounds was Revolver and Radiohead were listening to Revolver and The White Album when recording OK Computer. That alone makes it's merits into the top 5 best albums ever category. In my opinion every album by The Fab is tied after HELP. All Amazing.
The Bends producer, John Leckie, worked with three of The Beatles: Paul, John, and George. Also, producer Nigel Godrich used some of George Martin's signature recording techniques while making OK Computer. In your opinion, these albums are superior to Revolver, but in FACT, they are not.
I will tell you why they are superior, because they are flawless, while Revolver has some not so inspiring moments, I listened to the album, and on some songs I felt they are not on full potential, this album is not as perfect as those two I mentioned
The Beatles were not known for their live act; rarely did they perform live. During the time of Revolver, Sgt. Pepper's, Let It Be, they were true recording artists; their innovation lies in the recording studio, in which George Martin has played a significant role. So, by Beatles standards, yes I am rating music based on production, because they played such a crucial role in music production.
Great work bluewhisky, thanks for taking the time to put this up! Got all four parts in my favorites now and will make some excellent playlists out of them later... cheers.
