They did all sorts of recounts and they determined that Gore won the recount. The god damn Supreme Court shut down the recount, which marked one of our worse days in history for America.
@tca274 No they did not. They did all sorts of recounts and Bush won all of them, despite all of the efforts of the left to steal it - including the media repeatedly announcing that the polls were closed in Florida when they were in fact still open, even calling the state before all of the polls were closed, which was proven to have depressed turnout and cost Bush many thousands of net votes which would have rendered the "closeness" and recounts academic.
Bush was appointed by the 5 Republican appointed members of the SCOTUS. As each state has the right to determine their electors, the SCOTUS had no standing & the ruling of the Florida Supreme Court should have been left alone. By their order, Gore would have won and Dubya would have stayed in Austin.
As to recounts:
After the ballots were released a consortium of news organizations paid for a recount of Florida ballots and Gore won Florida. Bush stole the election.
@videoholic200s Do you happen to have the 10pm rejoin on this? That's where Dan starts off: "Bulletin: Florida pulled back into the undecided column." Thanks!
@Claronium780 Gore might have won FL, maybe not. I remember the Miami newspaper doing a statewide recount after the election had been decided which showed Gore had won the state by 3 VOTES! With it being that close we may NEVER know who really won Florida.
The fact is Gore couldn't even win his home state, he was a total loser.

I am sorry but Florida went red.
Bush won by 537 votes in Florida.

Rather conveniently forgot that Florida has 2 time zones and called it early for the Dems. That likely sent a lot of panhandlers home.

If Ralph Nader won a state, would they have colored it green?

Ridge isn't scary. A good Homeland Security Sec. should be terrifying. Like Jack Bauer or Dick Cheney.
