I think this is the most intense theme ever composed for anime. From the beginning till the end, you are hooked up by the beat of the song and when the violins hit, it breaks the epic scouter and the melody become beyond description.

Although it is named after the art of Hadouken, the song also manages to capture and convey an unbreakable feeling of unyielding will, like if it was the moment of truth and it's time to make the ultimate sacrifice for the sake of something important.

Also, at the time, there wasn't that much official storyline for Street Fighter II; just a few key plot points and rivalries.
