  • A digital synth has never made my hair stick up like this or the SEM. Virus can get close but no cigar.

  • awesome!

  • amazing gear, awesome sounds, great performance!

  • "Too bad she won't live...but then again who does ?"

  • this song gives me goosebumps

  • Lovely vintage synth, and lovely rich analogue sounds..... I would love to own one... along with an ARP 2600 !!!!!!!!!

  • very very nice

  • Vangelis used the Yamaha CS-80 V for blade runner. But the oberheim sounds cool as well.

  • @Aoleon Vangelis used a CS-80.... having played the "real deal" he would not contemplate the Arturia path believe me....;c)

  • I like very much, pure sounds

  • Nice balls man, and also nice synth and sound.

  • WoW! This synth sound gives me the chills !

  • The glowing colored balls on your synthesizer are so cool...I am beside myself with envy. :-)

  • @DuaLeaD And the Minimoog!

  • Hi! Where do you get the balls from?

  • what do you think is better , obxa or ob8 ? i just got a obxa back on trade this week and so happy but one has to go !

  • @alegriamusic, I prefer the OBXa 8-voice, there is little difference between the two but the sound is equal.

    Grtz

    Marc

  • @alegriamusic I prefer the OB-8

  • There's NOTHING like the Oberheim sound! Wonderful job!

  • cool dude ! i miss the obxa ! i still have my ob8 and obx so still happy...

  • @alegriamusic Thanks for your comment !

  • Man...I play keyboards in my band...and all this new tech stuff just doesn't match the 80's synth instrument sounds!

    OB-8

    Matrix 12

  • @RoastLambShanks dont forget the ob-x ;D

  • That drone... gave me the chills, and I immediately began picturing the city of Blade Runner. Sick.

  • @McPhale Thanks for your comments :)

  • It seems like a slight variation on the original, but executed masterfully nonetheless

  • Thanks for your nice comments!

  • Just wonderfull!!

  • Thanks a lot Denis!

  • What a wonderful synthesizer. Also you play the melody beautiful!

  • Thanks :))

  • Did you have any additional sound processor on this?

  • Yes, Roland DEP-5 for delay and SONAR-8 stereo reverb.

  • What are those colored spheres?

  • These glowing balls I've put on the OBX are just for fun :))

  • @magevers

They are fun, did you make them or buy them?

  • Thanks a lot !

  • Absolutely incredible, rich, thick sound.

  • Thanks for your comments!

  • Sorry...Lexicon 224...not 240

  • I'm really happy that you've shown Oberheim OBXa is not only Van Halen's JUMP....if you like Vangelis' strings sounds I suggest you VP-330 Roland-into a 240 Lexicon Reverb...have fun!...

  • Thanks for your comments!

  • I think I've worked out that the Oberheim sound is about my favourite of all the synth vendors. The Matrix 12 would probably be my desert island machine if it ever came to that. I'd love to own an OBX(a), but getting your hands on one these days is a little hard.

With that said, I've got an undying love of the CS80 too.

  • Thanks for your comment :))

  • wow lol nice

  • Thanks :)

  • Hi

I Love your rendition of Blade runner, one of my favorites.

I also have an OB-Xa and was wondering if you would care to share the settings for the lead sound and also what effects you added to it.

    Thanks

  • do you have the 5 CD special edition of Blade Runner on blu-ray????? The movie looks like it was made like weeks ago its really ace and the special FX still look so damn real, as i can see it seems like Blade Runner is your favorite mov

  • Very nice! I love my OBXa. I don't people realize how great they really are. I think I need to invest in a good effects unit.

  • Thanks for your comments :)

I like my OBXa very much, he still amazes me after more than 20 years!

  • you've really had it over 20 years? nice!

  • Yes, i love my Obie :)

  • Unbelivable... It's not close to, it's IDENTICAL to the Vangelis CS-80 sound! Congratulations!

  • Thanks for your great comments!

  • amazing!!!!

  • Thanks for your nice comment!

  • DOPE.

  • Thanks for your comment :)

  • Like the Dep pads, you've really captured the atmosphere. Like your lead sound too as it does justice to the original CS80 track. Great when you consider your mainly using an OB-Xa for a few parts. You've done a verty atmospheric rendition that does Vangelis proud.

I'm inspired to have a go with my OB-SX. Matrix 100 and Prohpet 8 and see what gives.

  • Thanks a lot for your very nice comments!

  • Perfect!

  • Thanks a lot!

  • Oh shit that is so unbelievable! I tried to emulate that classic Vangelis CS-80 sound with my Prophet'08 and it failed so hard. Man I need this synth :-)

  • Thanks for your comments!

  • wicked...deep and powerful!

i have an opportunity to buy a 6-voice w/ MIDI and 120 memories next week.

i'm a bit more enthralled w/ the OB-X but those are at least double the cost, harder to find, service/maintain etc.

  • Thanks for your nice comments!

    Is it a OBXa 6-voice?

  • yes, i have it set up right now :D

FAT classic sounds, w/ beautiful highs...

  • Nice, close to the CS80

  • Thanks for your comments :)

  • wow. gut gespielt. und der oberheim hört sich so klasse an!!!!

  • Iam still constantly in love with sound of OB & this version is real close to > thanks for video :)

  • Thank jou very much for your very nice comments!

  • Hi Marko,

Thanks for your very nice comments!

The OBXa surprised me still after more than 20 years!

  • rly good pads and playing. what are those glowing ball thingies?

  • Thanks for your nice comment!

The ball's are just for fun.

  • Hello Marc my friend, your new video is very impressive for me. The Pad in the background has a nice deep one and Solo is simply brilliant. Something like that I can sound over and over again and enjoy.

    5*****+Fav!

  • Hi Jens,

I am very pleased that you like it so much.

With this simple song/performance you can hear the sound qualities of the OBX.

    Thanks for your nice comment!

  • nice

  • Thank you :)
