I have the same guitar as you, same year and everything. :D But would you recommend the 50 watt version of this head? I mainly play Heavy Metal (Black Sabbath style) and early Thrash. I play many styles really but mostly Hard Rock/Heavy/Thrash metal, so would this head be alright with a 1960a cab? :)
@dragonclaw13 Go the the Marshall forum, guys have talked about both of these questions. Most say to get the 100 watt because of the better resale value and the fact that 50 watt is not much lower in dB than the 100 watt. I think the DSL would be great for black sabbath. You can really change the sound of this amp with the pedals..
Hey bro, posted on some of your other vids. Yours must be the first Traditional I've seen without a scratch plate attached...looks awesome. Was it a special order?
@5150VanAlien This guitar was a warranty replacement. Before it was made, I asked someone at the plant to not install the pickguard. I got lucky.. Other people have asked and they said no or they would have to pay extra because that would make it a custom guitar. I also asked them to paint the burst rim thinner so I could see the top.
@Earnhardt12345 AHHH...I wish I could do the same. I like the Traditional line and it's a shame that Gibson don't do this. Also, agreed with the thinner burst rim. I believe going along the outer rim of the guitar makes it look nicer...well done.
@LesterPaul01 No, only to about 6.. I will dime it one of these days.. I'm just afraid my neighbors will call the cops. Yeah, the Traditional is one bad ass guitar.
could you please cover it again with a closeup? like your most covers, so i can see what you are playing at the outro solo, there arent very good tabs of it
hey nice playing! i have a question, would you mind telling me how much it cost you for that amp rig? not altogether, if you can remember each part price seperately, thanks!
@dcooper830 Thanks man!! The top cab is a MC412. Their lowest cost ($500) normal size cabinet. It has the 50watt Celestion Rockets in it. Sounds decent, but nothing like the 1960BV.
Hey man I just got a DSL 100 and play a Gibson LP Traditional Plus through it. I thought since you have three of them maybe you would share some of your favorite settings with me. Would greatly appreciate it.
I'm buying a Gibson Les Paul Traditional Desert Burst this xmas I'm soo excited i love the guitar its fantastic, also out of interest sir, could you tell me How much the whole Marshall Stack system you've got there is and what spec or model it is? I've currently got two Combo's the Marshall MG30DFX (old model) and the Marshall MG100FX (new model)
@TheBlackOctane The trad desert burst is a great guitar. The quality is top notch and plays very well. The Marshall head I bought used for $700. Its a JCM2000 DSL100. I bought the bottome cab used for $500, it a 1960BV with Vintage 30 speakers. The upper slant cab is a MC412 that I bought new for $450. Its ok, but it would be worth buying a new or used 1960 cab.. They sound much better.
@Earnhardt12345 ah yeah, I do love the Marshall Roaring tones, I'm that kinda person who puts everything on max appart from the master volume other wise the nabhours go nuts, do you know how much that would be all together in GBP?
lets hear a demo of the Crate half stack"
