A sand rail is a pared down vehicle made from tubing, entirely designed to go on sand. A dune buggy is named after the original Manx buggies, made from a body kit that converts a VW Bug (Beetle) into a sand car.

I used a 2 speed shorty power glide trans, made a adpter with a shaft seal. bolted them together.

how did you connect the trany and rear dif?

I made a simple adapter for them to mate up, turns out the shaft coming out of the trans is the same diameter and splines as the diff. pinion gear.
