  • i think u should add a HUGE tree in the middle of the base it would look really cool also i was wondering how do i download your server

  • generik sent me. and i'm glad i came :D

  • add some windows on the corners and then putting vines on them?

  • I can tell your base is gonna be boss.

  • But you are super omg...

  • Hypno's hi can you give your save ? :D

  • Sup Hypno! Long time no comment! :P

Hey, um, would you be interested in playing Skyblock on a server with me and the creator of Skyblock?

    Just Asking...

  • urgh ... .luring animals whilst swimming in water would drive me crazy :P But I can see the benefits of having a base in the ocean. I prefer to build on land wherever possible and just deal with the mob whenever they turn up :) Nice video Hypnotizd :)

  • you should make more episodes more often..........I really like ur episodes

  • i love your voice

  • Hypno, i need you help aha,

just i need slime and i just cant find anywhere so thery're is a whole heap of videos all over youtube and most say go to bedrock and build a room so to speak and make it 6 high and approx 15x15 and i was wanting to know how to make a slime farm.. just wanting your opinon on things and P.S i've almost watched everyone of your videos and they're all great and keep the good work up! and i've subscribed!

  • @24CRAZYNUT24 Slimes are a lot easier to find then they were before. Previously slimes would only appear at level 16 or below. Now they appear Level 40 and below. This makes them exceptionally easier to find in caves than before. My advice is to just go spelunking and light up caves to prevent hostile mobs to spawn. Slimes will eventually spawn in their place. There also are web apps out there that you can put in your seed and they'll tell you which chunks spawn slimes, your choice.

  • @hypnotizd Thanks for the advice your a legend at heart!

  • @24CRAZYNUT24 crazy etho say how EASY to find there is a side there scan your world for slime chunks :D

  • I think u should put some vines in the corners as u said, and on the outside of the wall. But not the nether brick on the top layer because u wanted it to look foresty, right? I was thinking u could also put some cracked stone brick on the walls to make it look old.

Don't worry about not posting videos that often, u've been great at keeping with ur schedule so far, u deserve a good break! :) and good luck with the new job!

  • @Deinna222 I want it to have like an older overgrown look. Lots of greenery with trees, vines, leaves, etc. Cracked stone brick is awesome, but I do need to find a stronghold to collect a lot of the stuff. Especially a lot of the mossy stone brick! Maybe I'll look for a stronghold soon :)

Also, thanks for the reassurance that posting these LP videos a little more infriquently is understandable. I hate to stop uploading content, but at the same time I need to worry about IRL stuff.

  • If you have to make a lot of stone brick you can smelt useing blaze rods

  • @duncanthaguy Yep, I mentioned that near the start of the video. A blaze farm is something that I'll need to start working on fairly soon. I have two spawners within range to make a dual blaze spawning trap. I don't know if I'll combine the two or make two separate devices.

  • nether brick layer on top of wall

  • @ncktbs I'll check that out! :)

  • You could probably put swirls/curving patterns on the outer wall with wool or sandstone. It'll look real nice.

  • @nintendoto I was almost thinking some random pattern like for instance the lapis lazuli patterns that were found in Sea of Flame II victory monument area. Probably not using lapis lazui, but just as an example.

  • Your channel has really expanded

    :)

  • @MrMinecraftBoyz Surprisingly enough, it has :) It still humbles me knowing so many people have subscribed thus far!

  • Heyo!

I think that you might be slightly overusing stone brick, since it appears everywhere (not that I don't like it, but I think that you should fit in some other blocks other than stonebrick). However, if you find a stronghold, mixing in some cracked or mossy could make the walls fit in with the nature theme. Or you could place vines on the outside, as many people suggested before, and its not a bad idea. For other islands, a railway system to connect them from the storeroom could be useful.

  • @Spangaxis I agree the use of stone brick is starting to become excessive. It is a great looking default block to start with and I don't plan on keeping everything plain like it is right now. I wanted to get the walls up and get a feel for what I'm working with. Adding decoration later is easy enough. Mossy and cracked stone brick are a must. I might start looking for a stronghold soon. A railway between islands was in my original design that I scrapped, but I might go back and use them.

  • Another idea you could do is use the nether brick around the outside and along the corners so that there is a one block gap between the wall and the nether brick. Then drop water in there and open up the ground so your corners are flowing water.

  • @ixcaliber I'll still need to readjust the storage racks because the storage racks block the one block wide path around near the back of the base. Somewhere I messed up the alignment.

  • In response to 18:31 I think you should actually use Nether brick to make a lip over the chests (In front of the glowstone and stone brick). It will give it a different color and I think the lip around the whole perimeter will make the area look sort of concave and homelike instead of looking like a wall of chests.

  • @ixcaliber I tried doing this last night when I got home from work. I don't think I like the idea of a lip in front. The netherbrick just didn't look right like that. I'll try replacing the stone brick top part above the chests with netherbrick and see how that looks.

  • Looking good Hypno. How about adding columns of Nether Brick here and there on the outside of the wall? Make it look like a Roman or Greek building? Just a thought.

  • @FishDS9 Not a bad idea, the outside wall does need something to break it up. The solid stonebrick look isn't doing it for me.

  • do a nether brick roof

  • @ninjafishy77 I'll try out a few things, but I'm not sure yet!

  • I think if u do a lvl 50 enchantment you automatically get infinity on ur bow

  • @ninjafishy77 Your ignorance amuses me.

  • @ninjafishy77 It's random, no specific level gives you an automatic enchantment.

  • Hypno

Also if you are not making as many vids can you update the map download a bit so others can try different ideas on your current projects.

  • @builder4321 I could update my map, sure. It's more of the fact that each LP episode actually requires like 2-3 hours of prep time to get things organized and ready to go. Like one of those level 50 enchantments takes around 1.5 hours to collect the mobs and kill them all. I just don't have the time to prepare for all of the stuff now. I might upload some quick an easy stuff. That's why I like playing the Super Hostile maps, equip and go! Maybe some Terraria, too.

  • @hypnotizd You should check out some of the graphs on bow enchanting. Towards level 50 the chances for the best enchantments go down rapidly. On level 44 you have a 1% chance to get the best bow possible.

  • @TheKastenbrot 1% isn't that great of a chance :( If that's the best then I'll just go for what's easiest for me lol. I'll check out the enchanting charts when I get some time :)

  • Hypno

I love the walls but on the outside you could put vines or pixel art with all the wool you can get. Also I suggest the mob tower should be made of sandstone like the old one in your last map, plus you have so much of sandstone to so it would not take to long to get set up for the project. The last thing is I like the idea of little outside islands and the animals should get there own island because they are loud and make to many sounds.

  • @builder4321 While I do like sandstone, I'm not sure how it's going to mesh with the look of the current main base area. I think having a large sandstone tower jetting out of the center might look a bit... odd. I'm thinking I'll stick with the stone brick look for the mob tower and I'd like to get some mossy stone brick, too.

The animals having their own island is a must. Those guys are so annoying! haha

  • Level 44 is the best enchantment level for bows.

  • @TheKastenbrot I keep hearing there are best levels to enchant stuff at. It's silly it isn't the highest level since that is the "most difficult" to obtain. Oh well.

  • Wow great video, enjoying this series more and more.

  • @Streetpossey Thanks man, glad to hear it :)

  • You don't need to craft an extra fence gate, you have placed two gates for the cows ;) (and the third between the pigs and cows :P)

  • @jumpfok lol, that's where it went! I must have lost it in the epic struggle to separate them all out :)

  • Try not to make your world too DocM'esque, I really enjoy your series, though I can see it ending up similar too his. No hate intended by the way, love this series.

  • @joehbear Hmm, I wasn't even thinking it was similar at all to Doc's other than the fact it's in a large body of water.

  • @hypnotizd I guess it's just my fanboyish mind;) sorry hypno.

  • The rain and snow are the same thing in code. Just the particles change based on the biome. So thus the snow turns out fire. The only reason it's patchy by ur home is because that's the biome line.

  • @DMKILLER11 Ah, that's something I didn't know. I know that they're triggered at the same time but I didn't know they acted the same way.

  • the animals are jumping on the babies and getting out

  • @masterassasain Yep, too many animals in the pens. Fences don't work really well to keep animals secured. Loading/unloading chunks cause mobs, especially when pressed up against the fences, to glitch through. Same with glass.

  • One stack of something is a 8x8 area, thats always nice to remember :)

  • @lucasfer899 Ah yes, I always forget my times-tables hehe. Now that I think about it I'm sure I used over 20 stacks of dirt for the floor. Oh well, I can't math that late at night lol.

  • I`m liking your LPs better every time. When you were ferring the Animals and it started raining, NOAH came to mind, LOL. What about Buddy?

I too started a new world in 1.0 in a Tiaga Biome and decided to stay there. In 1.1 this Biome turned somewhat nasty. My farms are outside and all the water is frozen. Ice does not irrigate. @&%$!

Good Luck with the move, and please make more LPs and not so much Vechs stuff.

  • @GrottoBob It kind of sucks there are no natural pine forest biomes anymore. Only the Taiga ones. Oh well, the snow is nice and I like pine tree so it's win-win!

You can place a block directly above the water source blocks to prevent them from freezing. Just make sure they don't have open air directly above. Torches or glowstone/pumpkins under the water would prevent them from freezing, too.

It's a shame you don't like the Vechs maps, I find them quite enjoyable and fun! :)

  • Possibly make cobblestone columns spaced along the outside to kinda break up the flat walls kinda like _||_||_||_||_||_||_||_||_||_ <-that?

  • @JunkieVomit Yeah something will need to be done eventually. I don't like the solid stone brick wall and breaking it up will be necessary. I was trying to just get a feel for how the finished interior will look and helping the outside appearance at the same time. Having staggered columns is a great idea and I'll probably use something like that in the final product!

  • The snow is quiet as well hypno :) Angorymro saying wordd up buddy

  • @AngoryMinecrafter That is also a plus for snow! No annoying rain sound! What up Angorymro!

  • generikb liked this 1 minute ago :) and so did i :)

  • @xFURiousZ123 awesome :)

  • Starting to look really slick buddy! I approve! What if instead of having smaller pathways heading from the sides of the base to other islands, you made larger diagonal pathways off of the curved corners? You could make some really epic looking archways that way, which would fit the MASSIVE scale of that room.

And it's not just you, I still get super giddy every time it snows in Minecraft ;-)

  • @Generikb Thanks man :D I like the idea of the 4 larger islands from the corners. I don't have a solid plan of how the base is going to turn out. I'm just going by more of an organic feel of what I think it needs and building from there. I originally had a design worked out for this base but scrapped it awhile ago. The idea of the archways sound awesome, too! Tell you what, how about I send you my world save and you Purdify™ it for me? lol hehe

  • @hypnotizd you couldn't afford my hourly rates! ;-)

  • I definatly think you need some sort of cobblestone/mossy designs on the outside, maybe some vines here and there could also make a diference. Maybe you cn make a walkway one block below the top of the wall and make it jagged to give it a more fortress type look. That I imagine looking very good.

  • @stainhoward Having a fortified wall look would help the appearance, I do agree. I used up a good portion of my coal supply and smelting up more stonebrick is going to be needed. I think I'll start working on the blaze farm for exp and blaze rods to help with the smelting process. It seems like a good idea as I need both things done.

  • The walls looks very good. and Good luck on the new job.

  • @iiLloyd Thanks :D

  • next episdoe you should find a stronghold and collect the cracked and mossy stone bricks and randomly place those everywhere

  • @AnderZ312 Finding a stronghold is in the plans, but I don't know if it'll be next episode or not. I do want the cracked/mossy stone brick, though!

  • Snow golem not snow man?

  • @Drominar Snow golem ;) I call them snowmen!

  • hypno or somebody else could please answer this quistion:

how many blocks does a mob need to be away from his spawner to prevent mobkaping for the spawner?

sorry that it is of topic

  • @MrMij96 The mob needs to be outside a 17x17x9 area centered on the spawner. So drop them down about 4 blocks below the spawner and you're good to go.

  • @hypnotizd and how much blocks to the side?

  • Like, Full screen hd. Enjoy the video. =D

    I like it everytime.

  • @iiLloyd Thanks man :D

  • @iiLloyd I wish I could watch YouTube in HD :/

  • Hey,Hypno! You said about Branch Mining Tutorial, will you make on in the future?

  • @Domis525 I'll see what I can do :) That's a fairly easy topic and doesn't take a lot of time so maybe I can get something out soon for you!

  • Hey hypno have u ever heard of the infinite enchant u need 1arrow and u get infinite arrows. BTW love the vide

  • @awesomegamer31 Yeah, the infinite arrow enchant is crazy overpowered lol;) I have an infinite supply of arrows in the exp farm so I'm not overly worried about it. You don't really need to spam arrows anymore like you did in Beta 1.7.3 and below. A stack generally lasts a long time and since this isn't a Super Hostile map, they last way way longer :)

  • Snowfall in mc is a beautiful thing. I adore it. So miss my alpha "winter" world.

Wow, that was amazing luck getting chickens out of eggs!

It's very nice that the fire enchantment will cook food even though the animal is one shot killed.

The curved corners to your room do look far better than simple right angle ones. I really like it.

Good luck with moving to a new city and the new job.

  • @TheMindfiend I never was fortunate enough to have a winter world. I rarely see snow in Minecraft. It really is beautiful especially seeing it first hand!

The fire enchantment on the bow is very awesome. Although, I can't help but think that just dropping the mobs through lava/fire is a better solution for food. There are just so many choices and options these days!

I, too, like the curved corner look. I'm glad I didn't go squared corners as well. :)

  • Good luck with the move and the new job. Looking forward to more episodes, whenever they come out. Best

  • @calcuttr1 Thanks! I might be able to get a few more super hostile videos out, but with everything on my mind and how long it takes to get stuff prepared for the LP episodes I just can't manage them as quickly as I have been right now. It's nice people are understanding :)

  • Great video man, probably one of the best LP's ever + BEST commentator ever ;)

    Thanks

  • @xXBen1995Xx You're too kind :)

  • nice video!

  • @stephenh2009 Thanks!

  • make a snowman to fil in your garden if you like there some more snow

  • @MrMij96 That's not a bad idea!

  • NiPPleZ

  • @HeadshotUan I, er, what? lol

  • YEY! 2nd comment, I love you hypno!

  • @Ziibez Haha thanks :)

  • yes ty hypno

    i was so bored

  • @MrMij96 You're welcome :)
