When your teeth aren't straight, it applies uneven pressure to some teeth and causes infection and decay and you will lose your teeth much, much earlier in contrast to someone who has straight teeth. do your research people.
One Invisalign has been around for years, so her sister could have gotten them, two they are no where near as effective as reg. braces, bc you have to take them out. this video made me go put my retainers in lol. I had the good old fashioned braces, and the only alternative to those bad boys 7yrs ago was clear braces and those cost 5x as much as gold or silver braces. My younger sister just finished with invisalign & she really liked it, granted her teeth didn't need as much work as mine. I wish you the best of luck. Be happy there's newer and less painful alternatives out there now!

for those people freaking out, i had braces for five years and the changes it made in my self esteem were amazingly drastic. i went from never wanting to smile to smiling all the time. i'm so happy for megan now that she's doing this. she'll feel so much better about herself.. i know i do:)

To be fair, no one WANTS braces. :/ Some of us have to get them because our teeth are very crooked, to the point where you can tell from any distance that they are crooked. Yours look perfectly straight unless you are right in front of your mouth.
I thought it was an insult when the dentist said He could tell she is someone who wouldn't want the esthetics of the traditional braces. He might as well have said you look like someone who is really into themselves. There is such a thing as ceramic brackets that look almost clear instead of the metal ones. (Tom Cruise had them) Invisalign is good for cases that don't need too much change. If your bite isn't correct then you may not be a good canidate for Invisalign.

I had the good old fashioned braces, and the only alternative to those bad boys 7yrs ago was clear braces and those cost 5x as much as gold or silver braces. My younger sister just finished with invisalign & she really liked it, granted her teeth didn't need as much work as mine. I wish you the best of luck. Be happy there's newer and less painful alternatives out there now!

I had to wear the stupid braces twenty months, which was torture! My dentist didn't mention Invisalign, and neither did my orthodontist. Makes me want to round house kick the both of them!

@Karopex like you said, it's her money. it's not like megans the only person out there thats ever had braces or invisalign. sometimes braces aren't the right option for certain people, in my case it was actually cheaper with invisalign. it's not really your place to tell someone else how they should be feeling about spending their own money.

for those people freaking out, i had braces for five years and the changes it made in my self esteem were amazingly drastic. i went from never wanting to smile to smiling all the time. i'm so happy for megan now that she's doing this. she'll feel so much better about herself.. i know i do:)

@dancerchic913 think about that dipshyt, obviously you have never been to the dentist or to america, otherwise you would know over half america has no insurance, and the prices of doctors can very well be over 50thousand easly for normal issuses, fillings, caps, crowns, cleaning, whitening, braces, oral surgery, and yes we pay cash, and yes my mouth is worth more than your car and probably your house also, so there are no lies fawkin genius.

i had normal braces, but the bottom tooth at the front right is still really twisted, and when i talk it someitmes look like i have a tooth missing but it isnt it just much lower.. do you think i shud try these braces out and fix it? its always bugged me :/

I had braces twice! about 6 years all together i believe...I don't know it just really does something to your confidence level which is why i wish I had had this option! I hated my braces soooo much. To be fair, no one WANTS braces. :/ Some of us have to get them because our teeth are very crooked, to the point where you can tell from any distance that they are crooked. Yours look perfectly straight unless you are right in front of your mouth.

I thought it was an insult when the dentist said He could tell she is someone who wouldn't want the esthetics of the traditional braces. He might as well have said you look like someone who is really into themselves. There is such a thing as ceramic brackets that look almost clear instead of the metal ones. (Tom Cruise had them) Invisalign is good for cases that don't need too much change. If your bite isn't correct then you may not be a good canidate for Invisalign.
