Japan loves this man - His union is distroying the American Car Industry. When they are gone which won't be long after their loans runs out. America will no longer produce cars.
Many gop Senators and people like them will next want our military to take pay cuts and lose there pensions. Next the police, fireman ect... shame shame on them. Soulless Evildoer fools. They are like sheep to the rich, foolish in thought and mind spineless jellyfish,is what they are.
The thing that was so telling to me during the hearings is something this guy said. He was asked if the transplants, Honda, Toyota, etc. were to come in and buy out GM/Chrysler, would they be able to absorb a lot of the jobs lost. He said, (paraphrasing) that the Big Three use 78 employees to produce 2500 units and the transplants use 33 to produce the same number of, in MOST cases, BETTER cars. That right there is the huge problem with the UAW and, quite frankly a lot of Unions.
Actually no I am not and please do not assume you know anything about me. I have a well paying job with great benefits and do not need to pay a union to speak for me or anyone in my company. I understand where unions can be beneficial, but Gettlefinger's very statement referenced above shows exactly what is wrong with the UAW. If you can't do the math, then maybe you need the union.
@RushBear Right on! UAW, It takes double the man power @ twice the labor rate, plus they are producing a poor made product! That is why I do NOT BUY domestic autos
Big 3 (specifically GM) has been FAT for a long time. I feel sorry for the workers but Chrysler needs to go, GM needs to file Ch11, and Ford will be ok.
This guy is a dip shit

if congress is so gung ho on saving the big 3 why dont they just buy all the cars produced by the big 3 and resell them to the public?

Because that would make them something worse than congressmen, used car salesmen.

Are you jealous of UAW workers? I am sorry that you earn a low wage with poor or no benefits.

Southwest Airlines almost went under and ended up becoming an employee owned company - why not the car makers?
