I just got this for £30 for 24 month contract just like jamieson111 from the carphone warehouse.

Its in the light pink. (it was either brown or pink and i wanted white but pink is close enough, plus I can just get a white protection cover for it, sorted.)

But I adore this phone. The second I got it I screamed so loud, sad i know but this is such a good phone!

There's no front facing camera on the Hero so no you can't make video calls...it's still a really cool phone though.

I'm thinking of ordering it today... i visited some phone shops here in the Netherlands but they totally wanted to rip me off XD why? well they wanted to charge me for around 23,~ pound per month and about 140,~ pound extra for the phone! :-| i can order it online for 20 pound a month and the phone is free!

Palm has the right idea, hack into itunes so that it's Pre can use the iPhone apps, it is the only way. Why would you get the hero when you can get the iPhone, who cares about the camera. The iPhone has more memory, a better OS, and the iPhone culture that makes the best mobile apps

about 340-450 GBP. :) its really not a bad investment. as on comparison the iphone has a bad 2mp camera and is around 100 GBP more than the HTC, I would believe it would be cheaper when it comes out in the US though :)

The Phone in the UK can cost around from 330-440GBP. This phone is absolutely more amazing than the iphone in real life and when comparing the two you would realise The HTC has a better camera. (5MP). whereas the iphone has a 2mp camera and is roughly 100 GBP more than the HTC, plus you would be investing wisely, as The HTC doesn't return each year with the same phone but with added video recording. like the iphone did. so its truly superior to the iphone :)

Looks doesn't make it a better phone.

The HTC (as most people will agree) isn't exactly going to win any beauty contests on the outside, but it definitely has more eye candy on the "Sense" interface.

But iPhone still runs better, most importantly: smoother, and has the advantage of a massive app store.

If HTC can sort out the lag then I'll consider investing in it over the iPhone.

The HTC Hero does not run the TouchFlo interface. It runs their new SenseUI Android layover. ToucFlo3D is for their Windows Mobile layover. Seems like a phone company show know what their demoing before doing so.

this phone will not be on providers for these reasons.

T-Mobile: it seems stupid to sell this phone to them now that they have the myTouch coming out.

AT&T: just one word - iPhone. they aren't going to the same provider as their competition.

Verizon: has not shown interest in non-Blackberry smart phones even though it could have a good widget system

Sprint: 4G would seem the reason why it would sell here and i really hope it does but sprint has NEVER tried to appeal to casual users

Orange makes me angry. There packages for contract phones, need to be updated and allow personalisation.

For instance the Omnia HD, is £40.00 a month on 18 month contract, if you want insurance (which we all need), its 45 quid`.

You can only have high minutes, I use texting more than calling - pretty pointless money making scam.
