Spain Invaded and destroyed the British colony in 1770.

A small spanish Whaling colony was formed on the island. Which the americans destroyed. In November 1832, Argentina sent a governor to found a penal settelement who was killed in a mutiny after 4 days.

So the British 'Invasion' was to reacquire land stolen from them 60 years previously from a handful of mutinous convicts........

The Falklands were never officially Argentinian because Argentina didn't exist as an official Nation-State.

The fact of the matter is, the Falklands war in 1982 was unprovoked and undemocratic. It was all to do with bolstering up a fascist dictator and the Argentinians still lap it up today when your politicians face economic turmoil.

How can you possibly claim the Falklands after losing so many people in your last defeat, they were never officially Argentinian and most importantly the people DO NOT want to be part of Argentina. The Falklanders are a distinct nationality with their own right to self-determination. They choose Great Britain! Accept it!
