India enjoys yoga competition for 2000 years in many Kumba Melas, where all the yoga masters, yogacharyas, sadhus, yogis come together each year. Yoga also can be consider sport in schools across India. Yes of course yoga also can be a very personal practice which as more original to the idea of yoga. An exhibition group is now lobbying and promoting yoga for possible Olympic status.

I think it helps if you don't think about it as a "competition" so much as a demonstration on advanced asana flow. It seems more legit if you look at it as a learning experience to serve as an inspiration to deepen your own personal practice.

Maybe I'm totally in Maya (which I probably am) but I can't stop thinking about how awesome it would be to be that purple leotard while watching this video. lol. She is so hot.

her routine is very impressive, but the idea of competitive yoga goes totally agains't yoga's philosohpy
