  • I've been looking at buying this pistol. Thank you for posting this.

  • @cfeAncient No problem, you're welcome.

  • I just bought a used one. It has a little indent on the barrel from the firing pin. It looks like maybe 200-300 rounds have been fired but is that normal or excessive dry firing?

  • @glennwih If there is a indentation on the barrel it has been dry fired, however if you are lucky it will still fire and eject correctly otherwise it has excessive dry firing and will need to be Repaired thanks.

  • Keeappah? I thought en Espagnol it's Cheeoppa?

  • Great instructional video! I appreciate your help a lot.

  • @slinganstone No problem glad to help, keep it safe keep shooting!

  • Should this be my first handgun?

  • @lumpymoose200 I would say it would be a very good first hand gun, it is a small caliber yet is the size of a larger caliber hand gun, and that's a good thing.

  • i just got mine and im having some trouble with it. i fired to clips and i found metal shaving in the gun and i cant find where it is coming from is that common with hand guns? this is my first hand gun also that barrel retainer will not come out. what was the trick for it? it almost feels like its stuck on somthing in there....

  • @brandon163774 With a new pistol it is not uncommon to find small bits of metal when firing however, it is paramount that you first clean and oil a new gun, not all but most manufactures apply corrosion preventive on all metal parts for storage and shipping to gun shops. It is important to understand that this IS NOT a lubricant! It is not intended to be used as such when operating the gun. So clean it and use rem oil or other gun oil this will not only make it operate smoother but

  • @brandon163774 may also be the cause of the small shavings that are appearing in your gun. And in the end make much larger problems later, the barrel bushing can be rather hard to remove in a new gun, it is because in guns everything is measured to the thousands of an inch when they are built due to the pressures caused by the bullet firing. If you manage to get it out use anti-seize grease on it this should make much easier removal.

  • what you refer to as a slide stop is a barrel bushing :P im sure youve been told tho

  • @2xthe15s My bad if I miss spoke thanks for the correction,

  • Very good presentation. This will come in handy as I have just ordered one of these (actually a re-branded Chiappa under the "american classic" name....

My only minor criticism (besides the mis-spelling of "Stripping"), would be to get a better camera!! Otherwise, keep up the good work.

  • @MisterBorg9 Yeah ha ha ha I did not waste a "P" lol. Thanks for the kind words.

  • Thanks! The instructions that came in the box were pretty horrible... Only time I wished for some Ikea like pictures to help out :D

  • I'm trying to field strip my weapon and I'm trying to take out the barrell bushing and it won't come out could you please tell wut I'm doing wrong

  • @sticks70462 As shown in the video the retainer needs only to be turned 1/4 turn than comes out by pulling forward or away from the barrel I have found that allot of persons that first get the gun turn it to far and that is the problem remember only a 1/4 turn, it can be stiff coming out on new ones so keep trying.

  • @sticks70462 i ether i need help

  • If u want a better version of the 1911 .22LR look at the GSG 1911 .22LR pistol , made with better quality/metal.

  • @jeffyjames2k11 but they are like 500 bucks to

  • @usbond1 They are under 300 bucks if you see it for more than that look at a different place.

  • Well done!

  • @MyYogiB Thanks!

  • I have a question...can you buy a different slide for the 22?

If the slide is a .45 slide.

  • @jb32895 no it's a 22 not a 45 cal.

  • @PaytRawrsVids the fire pin lock is there for storage safety of prevention of firing by mistake, not for repeated hammer slaps.

  • Nice vids, I wanted to know, will the rear sight interchange with other 1911 sights? Thanks a bunch. I would also like to thank you for your service, I'm in my first year.

  • I'm having a bit of trouble getting the barrel retainer out. It seems to be stuck in the slide. I'm new to fixed barrel 1911s, if you have any tips they would be very much appreciated.

  • @M1911A1GUY some have had to sand or file the sharp edges off of the retainer after removal this aids in a smoother install and remove after words but always oil it down and try it first.

  • Thanks for the video. Helped me strip it without damaging it. Got a question. If i want to polish the barrel to make it look chrome, do i use the wet or dry paper M3 with the remington oil to do it? Also will it go from black to chrome looking after i get the finish off?

  • @balamb0776 though I understand why you wish to do this, I don't recommend you do this one; because the blue is there to protect the metal from rust, and two; the barrel is cased in aluminum not steel so it will not have a shiny steel finish that I'm sure you think at this point it would have. thanks

  • first comment!

  • I have one as well and I am just wondering how many rounds you have through yours?

    PV2.Grazier

    U.S. Army

  • @SFCGrazier at this point it around a 1,000 - 1300

  • Hmm, not sure if i'll buy this if you can't dry fire. Is there any way at all to dry fire this safely?

  • @dabrownone this is a (Rim Fire) gun because of this I do not dry fire it, doing so will dimple the barrel witch will cause a very bad cycling problem.

  • Hey thank you for the video. I cannot get my barrel brushing off. Any advice? i turned it 90 degrees but it will not come out..

  • @blinkidpv you are turning it too far, it only need 1/4 turn.

  • You rule!! Thank U man for this video!!

You helped me with me new chiappa 1911 target that is almost the same than the standard one showed in your video.

    Thank for sharing this.

    Regards from Spain

  • @fernandito1984ipod thanks so much glad I could help.

  • hey

  • Hey Limu Todd, I have field stripped my Chiappa, and then assembled it all back together. I am able to press the slide lock lever out of the gun.( Not easily though)

Is that normal? ( I have to apply a bit of pressure with my thumb)

    Let me know, Thanks alot!

  • @RyBread321 yes it is only retained by spring pressure however this pressure is enough for full use of the gun

  • hey
