@linkman1015 Ure right. Master Chief was kidnapped when he was six, but he like became the master chief like, less than a year later. He beat up two marines and so the Spartan program people thought it would be a good idea to promote him to the leader.

@hunter251125 If you read the story correctly at the beginning of each chapter it lists a date specifying the month and year. he became the leader when they were 8 after making sure everyone made it back. He was promoted to leader because he was able to bring everyone back. At 14 he got the treatment then as a test by ONI he fought 4 ODST and killed 2. He did not mean to, but was instructed by a superior officer to fight them.
