  • it is gamerbee at 0,53? LOL

  • lol... yea what is that stick john choi is using? its the one i want and i cant find a name for it anywhere. google did indeed fail me.

  • @Sh00peh It's a MAS Stick. I dunno if they are still made anymore these days, however.

  • @jchensor They still are. Arcade Shock still sells them but 8 times out of 10, they are sold out.

  • Choi and Valle... old school survivors...

  • can some one please reply to me, i don't remember any super moves like a super hadouken that ryu did, with the hyper meter and all, from ssf2, i remember half circle backwards was his big hadouken if i remember correctly, but i don't remember anything alse, i remember ken could do 3hits with his sheng long, and he started arching a bit on his hurricane kicks, but no super meter or super moves, is this the jap version? or some updated mode?

  • this is ssf2t...

  • i would say cole celebrated too early. 'you don't score, until you score'

  • PSYCHIC DRAGON PUNCH

  • is john choi using happ p360?

  • It might be a P360, depends on if whoever's stick it is took the option for one. It's a Mas Super Pro, which comes with an optional P360. So it's possible.

  • Is Cole 'Afrolegends' ? Probably not lol.

Hes got a good Sim. You have to keep your guard up against a pokey Sim.

What is the best way to counter Sims small drills ? Are they going to try to throw or set me up for something else ? Is it best to block then sweep or reach for the throw ? It always throws me off.

  • This is just about the only vid on Youtube that has the Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo player select music played for longer than like 2 two seconds. I challenge someone to prove me wrong. I wish someone would upload the theme to Youtube.

  • wow i didn't know john choi preferred american style sticks

  • Ya I was surprised too, just out of curiosity, would you know where to get an american stick, all I can ever find is Japanese, I too prefere the American

  • most of the good sticks are easily moddable, you just buy the bat top separately and it screws on easily. I think there are custom stick makers that do american style sticks too though.

  • nice thanks man

  • KOREA KOREA KOREA XD That was a good match

  • God. Why even have these announcers?!

    Horrible.

  • cuz you would fall asleep without them. have you seen the old evo dvds -

  • I quite like Seth's commentary, even though he says "Roo".

  • Seth's a good announcer. Way better than Yipes' random nonsense.

  • you mean the random nonsense that pretty much every marvel player quotes now...yeah, lol.

  • hey i see 0:27 ricky ortiz

  • lmao at that fat boy at 1:00

  • i've never been to an evo.

does anybody come and do good with a gamepad instead of a joypad?

  • Hmm, they're using the emulated version off the PS2 "Capcom Classics Collection: Volume 2". The one that was later picked apart and rejected by the ST community right? :D I own both Capcom Classics collections and both PS2 SF collections, yet find myself playing the CCC2 ST more than SFAC's HSF2......I dunno, guess the sound's louder and more stereo-like in CCC2 ST. I think PS2 HSF2's A.I is even more difficult than any other version of ST.

  • Why do you assume these people can't play arcade? These guys all grew up and learned everything they know ON the arcade machines. Believe me, they are the best in the nation on console. And you'd better believe they are the best in the nation on arcade cabinets as well.

  • All right, now you are just trolling, trying to get reactions. Thank you, come again.

  • You didnt happen to notice the sticks they are playing with? Most probably its modded ones, using the very same parts that arcade machines have albeit less worn out. Or was it that you meant? Dealing with crappy controllers and stuff?

  • Anyone know if they're having any video game tour. at this years San Diego comic con?

  • lol, i have to agree

I would be annoyed as hell with him around.

  • nice ryu

  • Great sportsmanship at the end :)

  • What was the deal with the "Gloria" chant?

  • I'm pretty sure John Choi's from Korea.

So that's what they were chanting: "Korea".

  • D'oh, I feel pretty stupid - I rewatched it, and you're right :-P If you don't already know what they're saying, it does sound a lot like "Gloria", though :-P

  • why'd he keep calling them psychic dragon punches?

  • It's a term used to describe landing a Dragon Punch against somebody's attack without needing reaction. You can Dragon Punch Honda's Headbutt from a screen away on reaction, for example, but Dragon Puching Dhalsim's Drill has to be done knowing he will Drill in advance. That's why it's called "Psychic." It's not really psychic, but... close enough.

  • Yea I understood the point he was trying to get across but I've never personally seen anyone refer to it as that.

  • uh. everyone calls it that in the ST community.

  • What did that guy say at 0:28?

  • The announcer wasn't so great.

  • fortunately nobody takes you seriously either.

  • They are better on arcade machines. They learned on arcade machines. But arcade machines are dead, you can't find them anymore. Please learn what you are talking about before you post.

  • Come to Evo 2k8. They'll most likely have an arcade ST cabinet there. Come by and own everyone up! Back up your talk. See you then!

  • LMAO I can't wait to see you get murdered by a Zangief player

  • lol now that is funny

  • heh.

  • Lmao

  • He's not going to be there lol.

  • Rape Rape Rape

  • Guys...that announcer was fine. The guys that do the NFL aren't any better.

  • Yes, love to see you to take on the one of the best American ST players.

  • Yeah keep telling yourself that, it's clear a) you suck at ST and b) you don't have the faintest clue what goes on at high level play

  • doesn't...winning..imply that you're good? apparently this timing y'speak of isn't required if he's beating peoples' asses without it..

  • ROO

  • ROO IS CHOSEN AGAIN

  • my boy dirty cole aka 7-11 champ. GET EM NEXT TIME.

    -Kai

  • Do you have an example of a better announcer?

Take into account (1) the fact that Seth -- the announcer you say sucks -- has a fair bit of experience with Street Fighter, and (2) there was a mixed audience made up of both expert players as well as random people who probably don't know what SF is.

  • thats one reason he wasnt a good announcer, ive never seen this game before and he didnt stop to make decent explanations about how that matchup works. decent meaning short, simple, specific, and humble. if you want an example of some really great commentators watch some ssbm videos where wife, dave, or ken commentate. theyre funny, down to earth, and probably more experienced in the game theyre commentating on then this guy...who doesnt seem to be a competitor himself

  • do football announcers explain what a touchdown is? no

  • I don't know what you're talking about, but Seth is quite experienced in ST. And as someone who knows nothing about Smash, the commentators don't do much to fill me in. They do try to explain, and I'm sure a Smash head could appreciate the commetary. But for someone like me cluess about the game, it's very hard to understand what is going on. ST is a hard game to commentate for, because it is fast. But as an ST player myself, the commentary is informative

  • PSYCHIC DRAGON PUNCH FOR THE WIN! I have street fighter 3rd strike but i plan on getting this. This is on capcom collections vol.1 right? then all i need to do is find some pople to play with and actually get good. :3

  • Vol. 2, actually.

  • Wow this is almost nostalgic. Amazing matches!

  • Sheesh, match 3 round 1....Cole is a beast!

  • is that an HRAP 3 on a ps2? Did someone come out with an adaptor cuz I have a Hori Fighting Stick and I'm looking to trade up and HRAP2s practically dont exist anymore.

  • Hence, hope for the best. We don't need to go into detail about this because there are to many variables involved. Those manily being mind games. You vary your game enough and you won't have to worry about psychic SRKs, jab, shorts ect... I was just nitpicking because he wasn't saying psychic insert generic attack here even though there was a lot of that going on. So relax chef ;)

  • Hahaha. Will do. ^_^ Guess I forgot to take my meds this morning or something. But your point is definitely well taken!

  • can every body join to this tournament?? because im from south america, im planning to go there, im good in this game , and i need some money , lol. please tell me yes I can join jaja

  • We have people from allll around the world show up for Evo. We get people from Europe, people from Australia, people from Japan... Everyone is welcome!

  • cool! lol, in wich city is the tournament??? Im from Ecuador, in one month ill move to kentucky, please let me know!

  • We had four qualifiers last year and one finals. The qualifiers were in: Austin, Texas; Stamford, Connecticut (near New York); Northbrook, Illinois (near Chicago); and San Diego, California (near Los Angeles). The finals were in Henderson, Nevada (near Las Vegas).

  • By hope for the best, I didn't mean throwning out random SRK's and hoping that they hit. I meant more on the terms of not getting baited by wifs and constant combo strings that you think/know that your opponent will do.

  • Psychic dragon punch? Why couldn't he just say dragon punch? All counters aren't psychic. It's just a chance taken on priority knowledge. I know that 15/10 Dahlsim is going to stick a limb, so I'll do a SRK and HOPE for the best. The only psychic SRK that I've seen is from SFA3 Shin Akuma. He just walks up to you and SRK at least 50% of anything you do.

  • It's called Psychic because doing an SRK and hoping for the best is exactly what you are NOT supposed to do. You will lose to the best players everytime if that's how you choose to try and SRK a limb. It's not by luck they CAN land it so often. And yes, it's not ACTUALLY psychic, but that's the terminology used for a precise SRK that hits a limbs or a poke because it seems that way. I've seen experts land 95% of their limb-hitting SRKs. It's not simply a probability game at that point.

  • Thank you for confriming that for me jchensor. 5 STARS***** for you.

  • Does anyone know if you can play in the EVO tournament with a daul shock PS2 controller? btw Nice match.

  • As long as you don't use a controller with programmable macros, you can use anything you want (the only rule is no turning on Turbo).

  • lol at psychic dragon punch

  • I think panning the crowd at the end of the rounds was the right choice.

  • HAHAHHAHAHAAH fucking cole man -UCRJesse

  • WOW this vids are amazing. I really want to up my game a bit, just from watching this vids

  • lol awesome vid,commentary wasn't bad either.

  • This vid rocks.
