@natehvv Yes they do, the first thing they do is remove the keyboard on the computer, next they scan the computer top to bottom for ANY blemishes, then they replace the unibody if there is any damage. its essentially a BRAND new macbook, with a much more in depth check up. They look through every nook and crannie of the computer and change anything that is wrong or blemished.
Truth is, All refurbished macs are hand inspected and graded out A-grade. With new parts. Most Macs that are brand new are created on an assembly line and more than likely will have a fault. If you are smart, dont ever buy brand new unless you want that extra premium. Even refurbished items have a one year warranty and the possibility of buying Apple care. Refubs all the way.
There is absolutely no difference if you buy a new or refurbished MacBook Pro other than saving a few hundred dollars. Totally worth buying refurbished over new. Apple would never sell a product that is scratched, broken, or old. Apple is a great company and very fair. The only thing they will do is put new parts. I bought a brand new one and when I received mine, I knew I should have bought a refurbished one. Good choice getting it refurbished. Please subscribe to my channel!!! Apple for life!
lol, I got a refurb 2.3 ghz quad core 15" anit-glare screen where my buddy got the 2.2ghz (6 months ago) and spent almost 3000 w/ the 8gb ram etc. I spent 2100 including my wireless keyboard and magic mouse. Got 8gb ram off amazon for $50. So I saved almost 1k with a better processor than his. The apple rep talked me into it b/c I didn't want to spend 2600 for the latest 2.4ghz or 3000 for 2.5ghz. The current 2.2ghz model has only 512mb of ddr5 vram. I need the 1gb vram. I got a steel :D
@CJCA915 Um, buying new technology is kinda pointless especially spending 3k for the latest and greatest when 6 months later something newer and better is out.
Then you'd never buy anything... because technology is always advancing fast, what's new today is obsolete tomorrow... and especially coming from Apple... a new computer line every year or so... a new OS every year or so... however, when I said I like to buy new stuff, I meant in condition, not latest and greatest.
@CJCA915 Where am I shopping? Apple of course! Price it out after taxes bro. $2,849.00 is b/4 taxes for the 2.5ghz quad core. So after taxes it's > 3k. Like I had mentioned earlier, I got the 2.3ghz quad core for 1k less as a refurb. Take a look at the 15" mbp 2.3ghz in the refurb section of the apple store. I know technology, I'm a software engineer and actually have a good reason to get a MBP besides people who have to buy their new MBP's for the "status icon".
@toddrecommends yeah just the fact that is new and never been used. its like when you buy a brand new car as soon as you drive it out of the lot , it loses value.
i am excited to get my first mac, a refurbished macbook pro and i just ordered it today. and i am doing a HUGE transition from pc.
im lookin forward to it!! :D

What an apple employee told me:
"apple does not sell old product. When they release a new product they label the old/unused product as refurbished."
Think about it. Why is there never the latest model of an apple product on "refurb"?
I'm getting my MacBook Pro "refurbished" in the mail today :D

@AlexanderTrivellin Thanks for the info and good luck with your new Macbook Pro!

@AlexanderTrivellin Dude, the mac pros haven't been updated since 2010 and I bought the last one refurbished, so your statement is incorrect
bouchandre 4 months ago
@bouchandre There is no way you bought a mac pro newer than 2010 refurbished.
AlexanderTrivellin 4 months ago
@AlexanderTrivellin What? I'm saying that the one I bought is actually the latest model, the 2010 one.

I don't get, why purchase a refurbished one, if it's the exact same as a "new" one?
Why does Apple do that, it makes no sense.
CJCA915 11 months ago
@CJCA915 Because it's not really a new machine. It's could have been used or a new machine that had broken parts.
toddrecommends 11 months ago
@toddrecommends Well even then, why do they sell them, I mean personally, I like to buy new stuff...
CJCA915 11 months ago
@CJCA915 Some people would rather save money than get something new. It's just a preference.
