those are some real nice old technic sets you got there :) The mobile crane (IMO) is the best technic set lego ever made unfortunately I dont have one :( your robot is facinating.
I'm not sure exactly what you mean (mein Deutsch ist schrecklich. Entschuldigung). Yes, the old-style motors are smaller, and easier to build with in a studded (old-style) model. But the new motors have some real strengths as well... including the fact that they have built-in encoders, and are very strong (high torque, compared to the old motors).
I have no building instructions per say, but I have a rather complete set of pictures on my Brickshelf pages. See the information on my "LNE PackBot" video.
I don't know - its certainly a "new style" of construction, but the studless methods have a lot to recommend them as well. Really, both system (in my opinion) work - and they work even better together.
I have to be honest here - in this video, LNE was being remote controlled: it was *not* fully autonomous, and figuring out what to do. Later versions do have this ability, although still to a limited extent. For instance, the current version can detect when the user has flipped it, and correct this by taking over control.
I like how it just resumes the ultra-thuggish gorilla stance after dancing a bit and starts walking around like other old technics were looking for beef.
Actually, the Mindstorms sets (both the original RIS and the newest NXT-based one) use principly what is known as Technic elements. I term them "old vs new" here because the NXT has transitioned over to the newer, studless variety, while the three other models are studded.
I got that shuttle! Some bits are missing unfortunately tho (replaced with simlar but wrong colors) :( needs some tlc
