Thank you Dayniac, nice to have a reply. My songs were only put on a short while ago by David Hinde. This is one of my favs. and when making my CD just had to put it on. If you ever care to listen if is Anne Francis sings songs from the heart.

Never realised just how many people had sung this song, and as I mentioned never knew Doris had sung it, and thought I had heard most of hers. Loved her voice.

Never heard her sing this before, lovely interpretation, and songs are so much better with a full band who can follow you, unlike backing track which one has to follow, loved this version. Makes my version sound rather boring, but love singing this song, and loved the film. Anne Francis

Doris has such an intimate style. I always feel as though she's sitting right next to me and whispering the lyrics, like some special secret into my ear. The rest of the world goes away for a few minutes when she sings. No wonder the whole world was in love with her!

When I was in the high school band in the early '60s we always played the "Highlights from (name the musical.)" as part of our spring concert. I guess that's where I got my love for show tunes and especially Rodgers and Hammerstein. Every time I hear a song like this, or one from "Oklahoma" or "South Pacific" it brings back wonderful memories of those concerts. Doris is such a great talent. I can see her now playing the daughter in "State Fair." She would have been perfect for the part.

@bulldogbarks55 I grew up listening to show tunes. We have an outdoor theater in Kansas City - Starlight Theatre. When I was young stars toured in wonderful musicals and I got to see the likes of Ginger Rogers in person... fun ! So - I'm a big show tune lover too. If Doris hadn't hated performing in person she would have been wonderful on stage in a musical ! wow !Happy you enjoyed .. thank you !

I'm over the 500 word limit, so I'm posting this in 2 parts.

My mother LOVED Doris Day and I grew up listening to so many of her songs. I loved watching Doris on TV too ... she was so gentle and kind, even when her character got mad! I am 50 this year, and my oldest daughter Zoe just fell in love with her very first boyfriend. She is a senior in High School and will be going to her very first prom this spring. She will even wear a dress!

I got my love of Doris from records my Mom had ... so I always tell her my dayniac syndrome is all her fault ! haha !

Yes - I think Doris is a gentle soul -- and a lovely lady - inside and out.

I'm 57 this year so just a little older than you. It is fun to see the kids get dressed up and do the prom thing ! Hope she has a wonderful time !!

Oh how I would of loved to have been alive back then! I have always loved the 50s since I was little. I even collect 1950s antiques and stuff for my room. I loved the music also. It's funny how when ever I listen to 50s music outloud, my friends look at me like "What the hell are you listening to?" Well, Merry Chrismas everyone. Even though it hasn't snowed that much here and it's warm. So It Might As Well be Spring! Hahaha.

Well - I think you have good taste !! I was a little kid in the 50's - so I probably got my love of this music from listening to my Mom's records. She had 2 Doris Day albums that I listened to all the time !! So it's all her fault ! lol

I was 18 in 1957 and deeply in love. This song brings back those wonderful memories of that wonderful time.

I'm so happy this brought you some happy memories. I was only 4 in 1957 - wish I'd been born a little earlier. I got in on the tumultuous 60's and early 70's for my teen years. I guess there's always good and bad things for any age. But I think the 50's would have been fun teen times. It was fun being a kid then. Certainly different from today. Thank you - really happy you enjoyed !

Well - I'm with you on that one. But our son says he's the king of pop. I know he has a lot of hits. But - for me the kind of person they are has a lot to do with me liking them. And lets face it - he had major issues. That's one of the things I appreciate about Doris - she's a wonderful lady in addition to her talent.

I admire her for her dedication to animal welfare - she's done so much for them.

Very interesting video with so many information, I love it.

She recorded much more music. By the information of a collector - about 1000 songs, by Pierre Patrick, who wrote a book of DD - about 1100 songs. My file with DD music is pretty large, but I still miss many songs.

I've answered your comment twice and it never shows up ! I've asked Peter about the number of songs. I got my information from Stephen's website - doris day tribute. And Tom Santopietro's book. I don't know what the correct number is. Hopefully Peter will know - he's the master when it comes to her music !

OK Nada - I heard from Peter -- he says he's come up with 922 songs she's recorded - and he's spent a lot of time on this. Wow - I'm even more amazed than I was !!

Another very nice video from the 'queen of swing' -- Doris Day!! I like how you used her album covers to match this really nice song!! That's alot of work adding her albums and dates released. Nice tidbit of her "Love Album" recorded in 1967, but not released until 2006 in the U.S. after her son, Terry Melcher, found it in her garage!!  Wow!! You make a great video, Toni Sue ... you really do!! Many stars, and shared!!
