  • Awesome review and what a great car!

  • To the people here saying stupid things about korean cars: seems like all of you are stuck in a bubble of time. Open your eyes, we're no longer in the 90's. The most stupid thing you can do nowadays is buying an expensive, ugly car with no extras and poor quality when there's kia and hyundai out there offering you quality, fair price and excellent looking cars. ¡Do the evolution! • Nice review. This car is to be launched in Europe in 2012 looks really nice. The Avesis already feels old.

  • hyundi i45 and kia optima are very close to each other but i think the optima is just a bit more sexy

  • hey mooney mooney. i live in berowra. how did u get everyone off the bridges?

  • HEY DUMMY! YOU'RE DRIVING ON THE WRONG SIDE OF THE ROAD! YOU'RE GONNA KILL SOMEONE!! (just kidding, lol)

  • I love this car so much, I went out and brought one! And, your video review had a big hand in pointing me in the right direction. Who would have ever imagined the Koreans would make a car with serious sex appeal?!??! Not me, but they did. Love the car and everybody I know who has seen it or come for a drive in it with me loves it. Move over Commodore, Falcon, Camry and everybody else - the Kia Optima is a winner! One complaint - no turbo version in Oz :-(

  • The Germans should Be worried, they have been churning out boaring cars that look the same for years, allowing other manufacturers to catch up and overtake them in terms of Quality and Style

  • Nice Car, Cant wait to get one of these after 1/2/12

  • I still reckon LED daytime lights are more like "i'm a cock, look at me" lights, but anyway this is a really excellent car for the price. Toyota are now only running on their reputation alone.

  • Daytime running lights...that's amazing??? My 1997 Buick has those...

  • good bye hyandi accent

  • Aussies always get the better taillights :(

  • i have one, im so happy with it and mine is the 2.0 turbo t-gdi!

  • Kia took Audi's lead car designer.

  • LEXUS ALL THE WAY!!!

  • @mohammedschannel Lexus .. boring, uninspiring designs ... basically just like their Toyota counterparts, dribble .. to me sums up the Lexus and Toyota range.

  • @ksearles85 maybe you havent noticed that lexus have to make luxury, comfort.sure it may be cheap but it is on track.if you like non-boring cars go somewhere else

  • @mohammedschannel Your comment makes no sense .. whatsoever, I'm sorry but if you want to make a statement, please learn how to construct sentences in English, thanks.

  • @ksearles85 you probably got my point...if you didnt than that just means youre dumb

  • there is no room...you are just small

  • Everything korean is the best. =]

  • It's a kia. In 5 years that garbage will b in a junkyard.

  • @prony1 most ppl don't buy car because of its logo..

  • @prony1

Stick with your little Honda civic obviously you don't know much about the car industry these days.

  • That cockpit is like a spaceship . I font know man I kinda like cars with a minimalistic dash\"cockpit"

  • actually yes most of the time, if I won the lottery and became rich I would still only buy a nissan gtr, may consider the jaguar or mercedes but bmw's are the worst overpriced shit on the market

  • wait a minute?!?!?! powered side mirrors?!?!

  • honda, toyota, ford, dodge, and gm are failures to new korean cars

  • for me nissan, kia, and hyundai are the dominating brands that deserve the most sales, all their cars are amazing, I was never truly into the optima at first but being a lover of kia i eventually looked into it, id take any sonata or optima over a bmw, audi, volvo, or mercedes for brand, quality, warranty, fuel economy, looks, price and features

  • @Brendon00000 So you are saying that if you had unlimited funding, you would choose a Kia over say an Audi A4? I mean I think Kia is making a good car, but no anywhere near the quality of Jaguar, Merc, BMW, or any of those brands. you pay a premium price not just for name, but you really do get better craftsmanship and better quality materials. Not to mention performance

  • @s54bmw

Obviously those cars you mentioned cost way more. Its actually way overpriced. I own a 2007 BMW 530i, let me tell you its full of problems. I would not buy another bimmer again. In comparsion my wife's 2008 Hyundai Sonata had no problems except for replacing her head light bulbs and she already have over 1000,000 miles on it.

Jaguar, Merc are even have worst reliablity record. For God sake Jags were dumped by Ford and are owned by Indian company called Tata Motors.

  • @stirrednotshaken7 First, Jaguar was not "dumped". You are seriously stuck in the 80's if you think Jaguar is one of the most unreliable cars on the market. Do you know how this ownership by Tata works? It's not Indians building the cars. It's not Indians designing the cars, all it is is Indian money. Jaguar has had a TERRIBLE rep because first off, Lucas electronics. Ford saved jaguar by taking that away. Second, because of the XJ40. But today's Jaguars are extremely reliable.

  • @s54bmw

Sorry , Jags have consistantly ranked among the most unreliable. My brother in laws was a Jag/Saab mechanic in the same delaership. He confirmed it. Honestly I don't even know how they think they can compete with other luxuary brands. Sales of Jags in US are very low.

  • Plus, I think that you'r bmw experience was just that individual car. I currently have 3 BMW's, a 2001, 2002, and 2011. None have had a spec of problems. I also said Regardless Of Price, what would you choose? BMW Jag, Hyundai, etc.

  • @s54bmw

That's like comparing apples to oranges. BMW especially the 3 series are fabulous cars when working properly but should be more reliable for what you're paying for. Overall Hyundais are more reliable than both Jags or BMW and can't beat the price.

I don't know where you live but here in US look into in Consumers Report mag.

I'm actually wanting to cut down in the size of the car since I drive alone most of the time. Next car will be the Porsche Boxster. Reliabilty improved greatly.

  • I bought a Optima SX turbo about a month ago and love it. Now that I have seen this video I am jealous that in the U.S. we don't get the led drl's or the backup sensors that beep. I didn't know I was missing something til I saw this!

  • Only ze Germans had that Ya?? xD

  • the cockpit reminds me of the Supra

  • Great car ..Great review.

  • very nice car right hand drive. this modle is needed in the bahamas.

  • Rented a car from Avis, got the Kia Optima, Had it for 10 days, put 2366 miles on it. Wife and I both loved it. Handled great, excellent gas mileage. Only complaints is on a very windy day on the highway it got buffeted about. Even in the mountains of New York, Vermont, NH, and Maine, no problems. Looking to purchased a "previously owned" one now.

  • I like it, its a bit overpriced though for australia considering it starts at 20k in the US..

Personally though for a family car I like an SUV for a bit more room and 'go anywhere' ability

  • Optic? Optica? Optima? Sorry...Top Gear just made fun of KIA. Who's gonna choose that?

  • @EdinburghTiger what you going to worry about what a two bit tv show calls the car? who gives a fuck.

  • @EdinburghTiger you make your decisions based on top gear, lol. Pathetic.

  • North America won't get the DRL light in the front. That's why the show room in kia.com won't show it as well. If you want it, u can always buy from ebay and install them urself. I don't know why they wouldn't offer the lights to us when it is one of the most important style ques for this car.

  • Wow! a no brainer!

  • what model is this ? The one on the kia website does not show those line lights on top of the fog lights in any trim.

  • @whazmanameletsgo that would be the platinum.

  • wow I can't believe this is a KIA....very beautiful love it....Toyota & Honda...please make good looking cars like this one.

  • Stop copying others?your a moron ,peter schreyer is probably the best designer in the world.

  • what's wrong with the DRL at 1:28?

  • Nice design. the downside though it is stil a KIA. light steering, tinny doors, poor resale, front wheel drive and just knowing your driving a KIA.

  • @scruffynerfherder90 do you own and drive oe b4?

  • WHAT. The ones in America don't have the LED's NOOOO!!!! Whatever, still buying an amazing car either way xP

  • SERIOUSLY IMPRESSIVE~!!! Its probably the best looking 4 door sedan out there

  • I got one myself in black

  • This is better than the new Acura TSX in almost every way lol...

  • @Jamzkangster thats not saying much.......

  • @Jamzkangster In every way .. in fact, in every .. way.

  • @Jamzkangster When did this start to compete with the TSX?

  • goin once , goin twice !! SOLD , am so getting one of these !

  • I'm sold. Checked this car out today and must say I'm very impressed. I'm coming out of a VW Jetta which is the same price as the Kia but doesnt have any of the features that the Kia Optima has.

  • Come on now! They need to start designing their own fucking cars. Stop copying others!!!!

  • i'm american and bought one about 3 weeks ago (Satin Metal). Beautiful car and the LX is loaded with features you would not get in any other brand without upgrading! I don't know how KIA offers this car at the price they do but I'm not complaining. It literally looks like Audi, Lexus and Jaguar had a baby! I will say this. The suspension is very springy. Like riding in a low profile vehicle. That fact is easily ovelooked! Love my new ride!

  • Great review, gorgeous car. need to change out my Sonata one thinks. (Kia, Get your snob on)

  • Damn its Very Luxury and affordable and all the things u want in a car finally here... fuck the BMW, mercedes and audis Optima's price is dearly reasonable...

  • damn.. take that germans.

  • 1:32 what road is that?

  • Comment removed

  • @valetdabess it looks like the pacific hwy near the hawkesbury river in sydney

  • so there is nothing bad about this car then??

  • keep your bad jokes to your self mate

  • nice~

  • Great review! Very informative and it's true. Move over Toyota!

  • @minibus1351 Toyota has already moved over...they're shit!
