Women over there back then looked at underarm hair as a real sign of womanhood and not to be messed with. I had a friend whose uncle was stationed there in the military back in the day and he tried something similar and she nearly beat the crap out of him lol! Besides I think you had the best idea about concentrating on the rest/best of her and ignoring the hair lol!
