  • These cars are always mistaken for not being as fast as they really are because they are so smooth. I still want one. Just wish the aftermarket support would come down in price like the car is with old age.

  • chinese K04's are seeming to be alright so far. and thats probably the priciest part of going stage 3. if down the road they prove to be as reliabe as OEM these cars will be easy to make quick.

  • When a car is stage 3, it usually means the turbos are bigger than stock.

    All mods before that is Stage 1, 1+, 2, 2+.

  • It doesn't mean anything specific. Most tuning companies have their own idea of what each "stage" entails. In general, Stage 1 would be ECU software and maybe a different intake design. Stage 2 would be upgraded exhaust, full intake modification, intercooler, and some other supporting hardware. Stage 3 is a larger turbo, (which can vary greatly) larger fuel injectors, and some basic engine modification like intakeand exhaust manifold or porting.

  • haha thats an S4 man they run between 9 and 15k used here in the U.S. twin turbo v-6 through 6 speed awd is standard. that is a great car.

  • @AntiMashu theres a lot of tuning for a3's. It really depends on if you want to go gas or TDI. A local shop owner was considering selling his b5 s4 yellow avant stage 2+ with W/M (quick as hell) to big turbo a tdi but nobody has bought his car yet. your going to want to do more than tuning if you want some good power.

  • @AntiMashu IDK why you wouldent go 2.0. But I believe if you go to goapr(dot)com they have tuning for the 1.8t. It really wouldent even be worth it. You get more power with a chipped 2.0 then what you do with a 1.8t with turboback,chip,and bigger injectors (stage 1+ tune). So in the long run the 2.0 is smarter powerwise and its an all round better engine.

  • @AntiMashu b5 s4...no other car beats money to performance than that bad boy. Make sure to find your time looking for one with lower miles and that was taken care of tho. If not you can be spending a lot of money. Or go for a b6 s4 if you want a newer car. The b6 s4 stock is just as fast as a stage 2 b5. How much were you looking to spend.

  • @Littleluk dont worry about what "stage" anyone says their car is. Stage is just an arbitrary term that Audi n Vdub guys like to use. it means nothing. It could be stage 10 for all i care, but unless someone can give you numbers and specs, it means nothing.

    Stage 2: Catback and Down Pipe

    Stage 3: Swap Turbos

  • @hp306020 wrong. stage 1: chip and often diverter valves cuz the stock cant handle more boost

    stage 2: is downpipe (dont need catback)

    stage 3: bigger turbos. often ko4's or gt28's.

  • @Littleluk STAGE 3 it's mean upgrade turbos , injectors , pump , ECU , exhaust with downpipe and much more just research online its ton of info also i got Audi S4 stage 3 and its rocket car i loved .
