  • the best thing is that u r using most common and popular os, it's just as easy to use as a windows pc!

  • BEST DISCOUNT goo.gl\fgIFy

    Customer Reviews:

Have had my slate for several months now and every day I grow more attached to it. I have the 128GB model and expanded storage with a class 10 32GB micro SD card since they are going for about

1 per GB these days. I had the dock ordered but really have not felt I would need it. I would highly recommend getting some kind of stand for it ...

  • Does the vectoring issue only occurs with drawing apps, or is this also an issue when annotating with OneNote? Thanks.

  • Fyi i really like your reviews very interesting and thorough, so you would recommend this over the asus slate? and does this offer remote access

  • @MrVtheviking This one. It runs full Windows 7 and any PC remote desktop apps.

  • which one would you recommend this tablet or the asus slate ep121?

  • @Ykhavari The Samsung Series 7 Slate.

  • Is it possible to install Ubuntu on this device?

  • @luminumx We haven't done it, but it's pretty standard Intel architecture and Wacom digitizer is the most prevalent. So changes are good.

  • is there no samsung on screen keyboard for this? something like the split thumb keyboards you see on other tablets?

  • Core i5. Cool :)

  • give me sdhc card support, usb3.0, 500gb(minimum) hard drive, esata ports, 7hour(minimum) battery life and hdmi output. Where's the tablet for the pc technicians???

  • Great,but too expensive......

  • @MrJohnnation How much was your car?

  • Would you buy this or the Asus Slate EP121? I know this Samsung looks better on paper, but it seems to have lots of hardware problems like flickering screen and loose bezel.

  • Hi Lisa!

Can you do a gaming video using this tablet? Maybe something casual like Bejeweled 3, Plants Vs Zombies, some RTS games with the pen (Company of Herores), and the usual shooters... L4D, CoD4.

    Thanks!

  • How much hard drive space does Windows 7 take up? There's a 64GB version of the slate and not sure that 64GB is sufficient...

  • @smk374 windows seven should only take up about 12 gigabytes at worst.

  • Amazingg that is what i need perfect for students

  • I am buying a tablet pc for an upcoming 12 month backpacking trip, and am trying to debate between this and the Asus Eee Slate. I am an artist, and do lots of writing and will be uploading pictures, videos, music, etc onto the device. Which one would you recommend? Can you get a better drawing program for this guy instead of paint?

  • @mutchinc Hi, I'm an artist too and I think in your case -- travelling, choose the one with a longer battery life, lighter weight and bigger storage (128GB ssd), which obviously leaning towards the Samsung Slate. I've just ordered mine from amazon for $1299 with a bluetooth keyboard + dock, $10 travelling adapter, a $50 original Series 7 Slate Stand Case to protect your device, $35 ZAGG 'Samsung Series 7 Slate (Maximum) InvisibleSHIELD screen + entire body protector :) Safe trip!

  • i'd get one but it's $1300 :(

  • Excellent review, thank you!

  • How is the temperature performance when running software like photoshop and CAD?

  • i want do get this so im deciding

to either get macbook air or this

if i get the macbook air i want to get a tablet to play games

if i get the samsung series 7 slate its all in one

    pls replay

  • god bless your soul .. you are the best reviewer ever . ^_^

  • Its kinda funny.. its like a mac lover.. grudgingly giving a windows slate a good review

The presentation is even done with the common Apple background for presentations.

The point they completely miss.. this isnt a tablet ONLY.... this has an i5 and be a tablet AND desktop with a keyboard, docking station and mouse. You can do that with other tablets but you arent running a real OS when you do that - at best you have to remote to a real OS to get work done.

  • PLEASE ANSWER: I want to get a tablet, should i wait for the next gen tablets or is it ok to buy now and when are the next gen tablets coming? My budget is from 300 to 450 us dollars.

  • i wonder if you can just save what you have hand written in windows journal as it is, so that when you open the file again you will see your handwriting again???

  • @cherrycherry37 Yes, you certainly can.

  • Thank you! :) I was witing for this video. And will this be in Europe?

  • @ewift It's available in Europe already.

  • @MobileTechReview how about Lithuania?

  • Windows 8 and Office 15 are being built with tablets in mind.

  • Excellent review. This is how I envisioned tablets to be 2 years ago before the Ipad came out. Its great to see Windows stepping up to the plate. Apple and Google obviously felt that tablets would never be used by anyone seriously and made joke software but this device is an actual computer.

  • Excellent review. Only thing it could use is some benchmarking.

  • can it work on portrait mode instead of landscape? it better for writing.

  • Can you do a gaming review/ demonstation please?

  • Great review!

  • Thanks for the review! That was the most comprehensive (best) review i've seen so far.0.

  • @drydeniv Thanks! Please share our reviews with friends. ;)

  • Great vid just for the soul fact that this is the first time she has ever shown her face! I used to think that she wanted to stay unknown because if she gave a bad review, well, the guys at HTC or Amazon would make her "disappear". So bravo on coming out and saying "I'm not afraid!". Lol!

  • could you turn this into a computer with the stand, keyboard, and mouse?

  • @DaKoopaRulz You certainly can.

  • Oh, Lisa, you have a very comfy looking couch!

  • Excellent review! Did your slate have the Screen separation issue that seems to be plaguing the BA users?

  • @timothy790110

I guess I should have watched the whole review first! BB seems to have fixed hte screen separation issue, so check you Serial numbers! (BA is made in october, BB is made in november, and BC should be made in December)

  • I love you lisa lol

  • wonder why samsung did not release this with a keyboard like that of the asus transformer. would have made it perfect.

  • imagine this on android ! ^_^

  • This is SO MUCH better than any Android tablet software and hardware-wise. Yet it is totally neglected by the big gadget sites. With Windows 8, Microsoft will finally make it into the tablet market.

  • How long is battery life?

  • @Ragingfighter1 to me it lasts 3:30-5:00 with normal usage.

  • Serious alliteration: SamSung Series Seven Slate. Ssssssss!

  • Another great review!. Thanks Lisa. Full credit to you for coining the term "Androidification of Windows". I am sure we will hear more of that in months/years to come. Microsoft has done such a poor job adapting Windows to the tablet and slate form factors that manufacturers are now adding a layer to mimic the Ipad and Anfroid tablets! Another great example on how Microsoft is missing the boat while Gates and Ballmer are twiddling their thumbs...

  • amazing

  • Put Android 4.0 on it. Enough said.

  • will you be reviewing the asus eee pad prime?

  • @soccertoby Yes, we'll be reviewing the Transformer Prime.

  • @MobileTechReview 08:33 frustrated much? ;)

I really wish Microsoft would have added some more layouts for their on screen keyboard.

  • @andreasaatte windows has upgraded its touch keyboard in the new windows because i used the windows developer preview (windows 8 developer release). The touch keyboard on the new windows is awesome. When windows 8 comes out, you should check it!

  • you a lefty?

  • @octzone I'm 100% southpaw.

  • @bluedaveknight

You should try the asus eee pad slider! It has keyboard. And is nice.

  • Yay! :) minecraft!

  • im waiting for a windows 8 tablet; for a real PC in a tablet OS.. i have an android phone and hate the walled ecosystem concept.

  • This tablet will sell . About 7 or 8 in total . I smell an ipad or a asus prime . Comment back , Bob

  • Hi, Lisa. I am seriously thinking about buying a tablet for college, and I will rule windows 7 based tablets out because of the life battery.

I'd like to know if the keyboard (for samsung or any other Android tablets) are effective enough to take down notes fast, for example, in a class. I can´t tell in your reviews if I can do fast and effective typing.

And the last question is If you will be doing sometime in the future reviews on the differents Android OS. Excellent reviews!!

  • @bludavenknight Look into the Lenovo Thinkpad Tablet. The keyboard folio connects via USB, so no bluetooth lag & it has an optical track point 4 mouse work. It comes with a digitizer so you can write. This is a big deal for people who do any math. I annotate blank PDFs that serve as notebooks and sync with Dropbox. OneNote is better, so I use a Q550 mostly. The Q has the battery life but is a slow computer. Respect the Q's limits and it's an excellent academic tool but not for vids and games.

  • Lisa, is your ringtone fieldrunners theme? :P

  • Best reviewer in the world! Could listen and watch and learn all day

  • @joeman8808 Thanks!

  • i hope these get cheaper in future, i want one so bad, my budget for a slate (asus eee slate or samsung series 7) is $600-700 and i believe that tablets (ipad etc) should cost no more than $400 and when I say $400, they should be perfect at that cost not sloppy, i am hoping by 2013-2014 tablets and slates prices will go down a lot, i will see if they are cheap will get one during next year thanksgiving.

  • thumbs up if it is better than your PC

  • Lisa, you remind me of Jodie Foster.

  • That thing has more grun than my 3 year old gaming laptop, in a stupid tiny formfactor. But seriously touch on windows 7, hell no. I'll wait for Windows 8 with similar hardware, i'm sold.

  • @Neojhun Honestly it's not as bad as most people think. Go into a shop and try it for yourself.

  • Hello Lisa I hope you plan to review the Asus Transformer Prime. Thanks

  • Lisa! You made another fantastic review. :D I like it when you showed your face to your viewers. :) Btw, please do a review on Asus Transformer Prime. I'm excited to know how you find the tablet. :D

  • can we install windows 8 on it

  • Wow! This is already awesome.. except the price w/c I can't afford.

The future for windows based tablet seem very appealing if it has the full blown windows desktop experience and 8 hours of regular usage :)

  • YOUR SEXY AND YOU KNOW IT(8)

  • Good review Lisa. I don't like this tablet. Windows 7 on a tablet is just not appealing to me. It's too much of anti-tablet OS. Wake me up when they have Windows 8 on a tablet.

  • Asus transformer prime?

  • Lisa do you there's a possibility that the developers will release windows 8 on android tablets?

  • No android no go

  • WTF, that is a computer without keyboard, not a tablet

  • @denisrenelara and a tablet+keyboard is what ?...

  • @kaisergreymon99 you are right i was not specific. What I meant was that it has an actual desktop operative system, is not a tablet.

  • @denisrenelara Please define tablet, before you comment.

  • @Neojhun i will comment anything i want, whatever i want, thanks

  • we never get the chance to see the samsung 7.7 tablet with super moled... looked really nice but by the time it arrives to the u.s, asus prime is going to eat the whole cake.

  • Would this be a tablet with good enough productivity for college students in your opinion?

  • @ZeroSection yup.. especially when windows 8 comes out.. it's portable n dockable..

  • @justifyer24 Does it have any kind of sync feature with a desktop version of windows 8?

  • @ZeroSection No Windows 8 features yet.

  • @ZeroSection no.. there is no desktop or tablet version.. both are the same.. means that you can do whatever your desktop can do on your tablet.. vice versa.. the live tiles is just a start screen.. you can press start to go to the desktop.. you see, it's a full featured desktop OS.. not just stripped-down mobile version.. whatever you can on windows 7 right now can be done on any windows 8 tablet, plus more..

  • @ZeroSection Computationally this is a MacBook Air. Build quality is the only question. OneNote w/ stylus is perfect 4 school. Free SkyDrive sync is amazing. Notes taken on tablet are synced to your desktop/laptop(OneNote) and web(Office Web Apps). Share notes w/ 1+ ppl, write or read only. Buy/rent textbooks w/ NookStudy and screen clip stuff into your notes. Record lectures with the built-in mic. Drop PDF handouts into the notes. It will change your life if 5 hour battery life can work for you.

  • @ruzaroos 5 hours of battery life might be a deal breaker when im having classes from 12 in the afternoon till 7 at night lol

  • @ZeroSection 7 hours is tough. I'd top off power during the middle class. You give up functionality with a mobile OS. I use a Lenovo Thinkpad Tablet (2nd best choice for notes) & the digitizer is good, but it just isn't as useful as a windowed OS. When you want to look at more than one thing at a time, you can't. It is the way apps interact with one another that defines the desktop. Looking at one thing is fine on your phone, but it isn't particularly productive. Instant on is nice though.

  • Would rather get a laptop that cost less. :)

  • Looks great, but I'm not even going even consider a slate PC until Windows 8.

  • How Do You Right click on that device?

  • @HunterThird Hold your finger or the stylus down for about a half second and the contextual menu appears. I think two finger tap may work too. I have a Q550 and was waiting on this to launch. Good job Lisa warning early adopters about the screen issue in the early run. I'm going to wait until 2012 to pick this up because of that and it is very thorough to mention that in your review when the review unit didn't even have an extreme case of the problem. Good job as always.

  • galaxy nexus or droid razor

  • pretty sure this costs over a grand

  • how many cores?

  • great, I was waiting for this review even though I got to find petty much everything about the device, just wanted to hear ur comments about it anyways. How do you get these gadgets? Do you pay for them or do you borrow them?

  • Intel HD 3000 graphics runs TF2 great. I'm sure the SSD would make it run even better.

  • Lisa, how is the battery life of this tablet? I havent heard u mention about it :D

  • @camonanh About 5 hours on a charge, not bad.

  • wondering if this device is using a gorilla glass?

  • If these windows tablets weren't so expensive, I'd rather have one of these than an iPad or an Android tablet.

  • Lisa....can you review the Samsung Galaxy Note. I've seen other reviews on it, but I truly only trust a review from you. Thanks in advance!

  • @ndnchief97 We're still working on getting a hold of the Galaxy Note. It's a very cool device!

  • iphone 4s or droid bionic?

  • @best1bag droid bionic

  • @best1bag droid bionic... or even galaxy s2 :P

  • Thumbs up if Lisa's reviews just got BAWS*10!!!!!

  • First time ever see you!!

  • I liked this review before watching it :D
