Some, it seems, are making this man David Gates into a prophet or more. I will let my former postings answer most of what you are saying. You said "any resonable person would agree the economy IS collapsing." So if I don't agree with you I am not a resonable person? I don't agree and I am a resonable person-the economy has serious problems but it is not collapsing. Lastly, don't believe everything you read and hear! Find out for yourselves! "Test the spirits"!!! Let the Bible speak for itself.

With due respect you must not be reading or hearing the same thing I am! David Gates did set a date for his catastrophic scenario. It didn't happen. He is irresponsible in his scaremongering and then he slandered my country and its population. Check out some of the so called "sources" he is using to back up his statements-very off-the-wall stuff. David Gates is not a prophet according to the Bibles test of a prophet. And some people even treat him as more than that. Think for yourselves!!!

On several occasions (perhaps not in this 10 min clip) Mr. Gates has made it clear that the economy SHOULD collapse by September 08; however, it is GOD, he says, that HAS the FINAL SAY-SO. He has also stated repeatedly that he and others are PRAYING FOR MORE TIME to spread the gospel. His prayers are being answered. Also, after tripping the first domino, it takes time for all to crumble. Any reasonable person would agree that the economy IS collapsing!

When, where and what where his exact words. Did he state he knew or that he merely felt things would happen by a date in time. We all have feelings about things. But to say that God revealed things would be a different matter. Often we interpret others statements incorrectly. So to be fair, let us check out what you are referring to so we may see firsthand what has been said by David Gates. Calculations can be made about anything, but variables make all the calulated conclusions only guesswork.

With respect it is not scriptural to speculate! Further how can it be scriptural to copy the US haters in the world by bad mouthing an entire country and people? What good will this do? But it does do damage. How does he justify that? Unfortunatly, a lot of what one reads in the popular media is so biased and subjective as to be untrustworthy. David Gates should know better. If he wants to preach doctrine and prophecy, fine. Leave the other topics to those who know something about it.

I was forwarded a paper that evidently was authored by this man. It is a long letter about how the US will declare marshal law and go bankrupt this Sept. 2008. It is based in part by people who know people who know people that said so and so was going to happen! That paper lead me to this video. From what I have read and now have heard I think this preacher needs to get some more education on many things including what a Christian is all about. Scare-mongering is not one of them!

Sir: This is according to prophecy you know. The Bible has foretold that that the second beast in Rev 13, will rise up and take dominion over this world. An economic criziz would be just perfect in accomplishing this. From what I have heard, he is reading only what established magazines and economic journals or whatnot is saying.

Ofcourse we should be sceptical of new things however it is worthwhile studying the economic history of the US and also other sides of the coin, ie New Age.

A great deal of what I am talking about is based on the paper David Gates was sending around. The Bible says "test the spirits" does it not? David Gates set dates! It didn't happen. Why is it good for this man to trash a country and its people? His words of speculation & condemnation cause damage and serve those who are looking for ways to mock the Seventh-Day Adventists. And by the way, who mad him judge? I will serve the God of the Bible. I will not serve and pay homage to this man.

It didn't happen? Financial ruin didn't come close to the US and the world in September? It didn't happen? To anyone even faintly listening, it is plainly evident that only through a lot of government intervention did the predicted catastrophe didn't happen. Read the papers now, Dear Brother. You see the stock sell-off, the retailers announcing store closures by the hundreds and secular papers announcing home prices not stabilizing until 2010? Gates said it COULD happen but that God could saveus

May we have a copy of this paper? Is he trashing our country, or warning us? The Bible prophets warned the people of their sins and the consequenses they would deal with, would you say it was trashing their country? Even an ordinary human can warn others not to do wrong without being called a mocker. I warn my children not to do wrong, because I love them, not to hurt them. And I am not setting myself as their judge because I have tried to warn them. Is our country perfect, no, nor are others.

Just a thought-If you or anyone else believe everything you hear from pastors, leaders, or whomever, be they from the world or your own church, and you don't find out for yourselves if what they are saying is true, then your going to have some problems. God gave us minds to use and if you ask for it wisdom.
