All this talk about whether "the surge" worked is a strange debate. Sure, the violence level in Iraq has decreased. But the fundamental problems are as evident as ever. It is so sad to see that more than 4000 US soldiers and at least 100 000 Iraqis now are dead in a war that has cost 500 billion dollars. What is now the aim of the war, and at what point can it be declared "won"?
The Iraq war is an unwinnable war. The war was started on the premise that Iraq had piles of weapons of mass destruction that constituted a threat to the USA. That turned out to be untrue. The war is now only about trying to make Iraq work as a country again. That is something that no amount of military input can fix. Let's hope that the Iraqis can put aside their ethnic and religious strife and somehow become a country again. But this won't be easy.

There will always be resisters long after a conflict has ended. The real problem is, the liberals sooo want this war to be lost so they can attack the Republicans. They don't care how many more US soldiers get killed as long as they can make Bush look bad. The surge has worked, the back of the enemy has been broken, and the Iraqis are ready to take over the job.

I saw another similar video like this. It was horrible(not the video), I feel very sad for the troops and the Iraqi Civilians(Especially Children)how they have to survive each day. My cousin was in Iraq for about four years, now he's back home. I pray that you will come back safe. Take care of yourself!

I feel very let down by the press, the Democratic Party, and the apparent delusion of the American people. The Democrats turned their backs on the people who got them congress in 2006. I fear their ineptitude may allow John McCain to smear his way into the White House this fall. Whatever happens I will do everything I can to restore truth and sanity to our democracy. We all take an oath to defend the constitution and I'd like to hear how invading and destroying Iraq is doing that. We are bankrupt as a country and our defenses are now non-existent.
