  • gurdjiev was a typical scam artist "mystic"

  • @4zion4life Your either a fool or simply ignorant. Read his books before you judge. Also his disciples are a testimony to his authenticity and have written books. this man is much more than your puny understanding can comprehend. Scam artist? I can see how it must seem this way to an orthodox thinking outsider but as Gurdjeiff has proved, the world is more complex.

  • @QuietusEpicus Jesus disciples are a testimony to his authenticity and have written books.

Allah disciples are a testimony to his authenticity and have written books.

Buddha disciples are a testimony to his authenticity and have written books.

Religion, myaticism belongs to past. Its irrelevant and poisonous.

  • @4zion4life Yes they have and I see see your point. What I meant to say was no one has ever come out with any proof of him being a fraud; I intuit deep sincerity and see sharp intelligence with penetrating insight in his works. You can't believe Gurdjeiff, you have to look for yourself. I don't see how he was ever trying to gain anything at the cost of others or was being a fraud. Have you read his biography Meetings with Remarkable Men. Anyone who says he is a fraud should first read this book.

  • This guys explanation of the "3 Ways" is completly in error. He does not understand the concepts at all.

The Ways;- 1) The Fakir = control/developement of the body. 2) The Monk = control/develoment of the emotions. 3) The Yogi = control/develoment of the mind.

Gurjieff taught to devlope all 3 at the same time. Hence the name 4th Way. When all 3 were developed the result would be Man No 4, a "Harmonious Man". The 3 ways all corespond to the 3 types of Man. Moving - emotional - interlectual.

  • Fantastic. The Kabbalah is unbelievable esp the Zohar, unbelievable

  • Is this the 4th way?mmm..I also dont understand the point of this video.A yogi uses his mind/+a monk is poor(as he said a sufi is)so what distinction did he do?

  • This people talking about Sufism, but they do not know what is Sufism. Sufi, a person who find his or her reality and Sufism is the reality of religion.

  • @habharchi People should know what is religion, before talk about that kind of religion, or about Sufi, Islam, Christianism. What does the word "religion" mean?... Investigation is very important if you want to know Truth.

And we're lucky in this world, we still have some possibility to have a Soul.

  • @MrMdC94 Yes and Gurdjeiff would say "As you are (imprisoned), you do not have a soul you must develop one." The man was a true fucking sage.

  • Thanks for getting back to me. I am a comedian also, who is interested in metaphysics. This character could be very interesting for me. Thanks again. salaam aleikum, shalom, boom shanka! B

  • Does anybody have any idea who the Turkish comedian is who he mentions around 4.20? I can't make out the name.

  • Some children saw Nasreddin coming from the vineyard with two basketfuls of grapes loaded on his donkey. They gathered around him and asked him to give them a taste.

Nasreddin picked up a bunch of grapes and gave each child a grape.

"You have so much, but you gave us so little," the children whined.

"There is no difference whether you have a basketful or a small piece. They all taste the same," Nasreddin answered, and continued on his way.

  • @yogilevo

    thats deeeeeeeep

    thank you

  • Great video. Greetings from Turkey.

  • Neither Adam nor Abraham were jews. "Jew" is a Roman word that meant "mixed race".

it only applied to the tribes of Isreal who mixed with the babylonians and persians.

  • Adam was the first man, and the first monotheist(Muslim)

Jew came from David. Go study u retarded rat

  • G was and is the source of intellectual power for the 21st century.

  • @pauli9363 actually, abraham was the first jew, adam was only the first man.

  • so good and bad are simply philosophy?

only positive and negative are objective truths?

  • Its amazing how mysticism exists in all three Abrahamic faiths:

    Judaism = Kabbalah

    Islam = Sufism

    Christianity = Monks

Yes I dont think theyre related to freemasons or illuminati. Freemasons are simply corporate businessmen and elites with strong networks, no more no less.

  • your daughters says hello to you hahaha

  • hamic1313

    Sorry Madar Jinda Pedar Sagh

i have an ayatollah at home sent from qumb to collect my Daughters shit turn into shiite praying turba for khamenei, sistani, nassrullat and the remaining they are spreading by helicopter all over Mashhad, Karbala, Najaf ,Kadhum, Qumb also using their urine as perfume spraying it on Khomeini grave LANAT ALAYEH WAALA ALLEH

  • @obaidkarki prick

  • obaidkarki, ever heard of Mary Croft?

  • Confiscatory

  • Good or bad in a monotheistic sense, originated in Zoroastrianism, the first monotheistic religion.

  • wltmy,

You are so right, this is where haven and hell originate from too. Zoroastrian.

  • zorastrianism has roots as well

  • Wrong! The first man was Adam(pbuh), the first man was a monotheism, thus the first man was a Muslim, and Islam is alive since Adam, and made complete in Arabia by Mohammad(pbuh).

  • Really nice video. I've never heard of this man before today. I'll have to do some research. Thank you. Ramadan Kareem

  • find out who taught Gurdjieff.... grandshaykh abdullah ad daghestani who is the teacher of mawlana shaykh nazim al haqqani.... naqshbandidotorg

  • Please, do the world a favor...kill yourself.

  • the work of Gurdjieff, I found it hidden indirectly between the verses of Quran, I cannot reveal the secret now because I am working on it, but it is amazing waw, i just say waw waw waw

  • its not a secret, find a real Fourth Way Master and he'll explain all symbols.

  • @vibrohm using symbols to explain "cosmic truths" is dangerous,it leads to miss understanding, division & fantasy.

    ie. confused cristianty,violent islam,nazism.

  • @kamelamine2006 u study the koran?

  • elyakim57

i will give another chance try harder

יברך אותך השם תּוֹדָה רַבָּה עביד כארכי

  • Besides, I'm sure most of them would agree that what Mr. Gurdjieff gave them was far more valuable than the money they gave him.

¬what exactly has gurdjieff given to the world or to his disciples..?'

Lots of nice ideas/systems borrowed from here and there, but not tied to any centre.Gurdjieff left a trail of broken inividuals behind him,he gave them a glimpse of something that they never realised...that is all i can see

  • Lots of factual errors, forgetting to mention that gurdjieff was a womaniser, who enjoyed humiliating his cathloic/middle class guilt ridden disciples..gurdjieff lied ,cheated etc..but only because those who flocked to him wanted to e lied and cheated to..

  • when did he lie, cheat and "etc"?

  • fuck jihad!

  • "touch Great! consciousness, ideas fantastic, communicate, distinguish, this, how"

  • My first sage & teacher was a big follower of Gurdjieff's work. His student, Ouspensky, too. I intend on studying Fourth Way Philosophy to get in-touch with my Hermetic teachings.

  • I have posted free Kabala of Numbers chapters 11 and 12 on my website for all to use freely, to print, easy kabalistic mental technique to find lost items, etc. Great! Thank you for this video and discussion.

  • I don't understand y u r making it so difficult. All religions are some practices pointing toward one reality. Does not matter what practice we choose the only difference is its outcome, consciousness. The more conscious u r the more sacred u r.

  • I don't think Gurdjieff wrote a "Fourth Way" although I know and have read Ouspenski's book of the same title, and which is a pretty good interpretation of the Gurdjieff work, though questions and answers.

  • Gurdjieff never put major significance on the term "Fourth Way" and never used the term in his writings, his pupil P.D. Ouspensky made the term and its use central to his own teaching of the Gurdjieff Ideas. After Ouspensky's death, his students published a book with that name, based on his lectures.

    From wikipedia

  • fantastic video, thanks

  • Obaid- u have to distinguish n to specify in ur videos that there r 2 types of Sufism. One Universal (atheists like to embrace it because it does not require a belief in God), n one Mainstream Sufism (which is pure Islam, based on our prophet Mohammed's (SAW) teachings. Mainstream sufis dont recognize universal sufism, coz every Muslim Sufi clearly knows theres no Sufism without Islam. I beg u to make the difference. I'm speaking from experience. I beg ur viewers to undertand the difference too!

  • Very refreshing to see how his Way interests people of ALL backrounds, really good!

  • I enjoyed this talk, and will listen to this again.

  • hey obaidkarki.... see my internet site....

  • Interesting thoughts and ideas.

You could try this on that yobi innovator contest.

  • I thought you were a muslim, and did not explore anything else. I am impressed with this video. You are a smart man.

Don't forget that there were people that were afraid of Gurdjieff, because of what he could do.

  • why would you be afraid of Gurdjieff?

  • I would not be afraid, but I did read that some people were afraid, because Gurdjieff could do things. I know he told the truth, because I have used his techniques, and amazing things happened.

  • I study the Fourth Way too, what amazing things happened to you?

  • Gurdjieff's textbooks: I picked out the Stop exercise, and going back in the past, and looking at incidents, with mature eyes. The techniques worked. I felt a surge of prana? going into my left rib cage. I re-looked at a disturbing incident in my childhood. Realized "I" was responsible. For 5 days, I couldn't feel feet touch ground. I had to look down to make sure I didn't trip. I now believe walking on water could be possible. We are responsible, period, no discussion. I was lifted up. Truth.

  • I hope you don't mind the questions but, why do you think a disturbing incident where you didn't feel your feet touch ground for five days is in any way related to Fourth Way, Christ or Truth?

  • When you practice Gurdjieff's Stop Exercise, and then go back in your life to any incident that means something, or hurt you, and look at it with new eyes, you can experience what I said. When I did this, and realized that I was responsible, and the other person didn't do anything wrong, my left side filled up, and I felt lifted up. I could not feel my feet touching the ground. Nothing bothered me. I felt different. And when I began to question my responsibility in incident, down I came, boom.

  • Our perception of reality is directly connected to our breathing rhythms. When we alter this, we experience a different reality. The Stop Exercise alters the rhythm, and we have one foot in the spiritual world, and one foot in the physical. I now know that the centers Gurdjieff talks about, are real. I also know that I can be lifted up. I am also a Christian, and when I was seeking truth, and God, He was there for me. He let me know what is bad, and what is okay. tarot is very deadly dangerous.

  • Yoga, breathing rhythms, are perfectly fine. Christ said, "Know thyself." This also means self-honesty. We are separated from God, because we lie to ourselves, constantly. Try it. Do the Stop Exercise as much as you can stand it. Close your eyes so they won't burn, and then find an incident that hurt you, or made you really mad, whatever, Then look at it with mature, honest eyes. It worked very easily for me. Seek and you will find. He will be there for you. He was there for me.

  • Now, I like this video very much.

  • I read that Gurdjieff studied with the Golden Sufi. I use his Stop exercise, which to me simply means altering the breath rhythm. When you alter your breath, you fool your spirit, and it starts to come out thinking the body is dieing, but it doesn't come out all the way. It just comes out a little. You have one foot in the spirit world, and one foot in the physical world. It's that simple. In that state, you can feel what's happening in the spirit. You have more intuition more of everything

  • sorry but the faqir gurdjieff refers to is the indian fakir and not the sufi fakir.

    gurdieffs 4 ways:

of the faqir= working on body

    of the monk=working on emotion

    of the yogi=working on intellect

the sly man(the sufi)= working on all three together(body, emotion, intellect).

  • you are right, the man in this vid is wrong, too bad 95% of the people watching this vid wont be reading ur comment, and so the decline continues :(

  • iknow what you said is right... msg me if you have the time to communicate... i'm looking for good sources to read more about complete human development.

  • hi Obeid great vid pal. i am waiting for yur next vid about idries shah -:)

  • Obaid,

The People of the Secret, by Ernest Scott.

I couldn't fit it in the last message.

    Hasta la vista! :-)

  • I swear I didn't see this till today! Gurdjieff studied with Sheikh Abdullah Ad-Daghistani An-Naqshbandi as did the linguist J.G.Bennett and others. Therefore, S.Nazim met him as well. It's funny that just this morning I was making a dua to S.Abdullah on your behalf.

I've been away at Woodstock to welcome the 17th Karmapa with many others this past week. His message:

"When we can no longer bear the suffering of sentient beings, we unleash our full potential to help others and ourselves."

  • Very nice talk about Gurdjieff by Obaidkarki. Although it has some minor errors about the books written by G overall an excellent introduction. I am quite interested to know how much Gurdjieff or sufism is popular in the middle east and islamic world.

  • There seem to be just too many spiritual Teachers, Authors, Intuitives, mediums, healers, shamans, mystics etc etc etc

Some are the real deal but every tom dick and harry is a guru lately. Proceed with Caution.

You can Tell based on their intentions, expressions and actions and more. Go with your feelings and intuition

  • I and my state are not the same

  • For some the mission is to speak.

  • For some the mission is to speak.

  • Those who know, don't speak,

    those who speak, don't know...

  • Amen!!!!

  • Those who know don't talk, and those who

talk don't know. Some have made a career

out of spirtuality, buyer should definitely

    beware!!!

  • yes, the market is full of retreats, brotherhoods, transformation courses etc.

While some may be true and effective, most are expensive and sensationalist.

    enlightenment for 9.99 !!! lol

  • see above

  • what i have wondered- if the critical seeker finds a spiritual path that seems very true, should one be willing to part with money? on the one hand i think no; some scientologists have to raise thousands for their church...

but what if one feels the message is genuine- people pay for other things-piano lessons and stuff after all...

  • double talk.crap, unfounded nothingness, may he rot in hell and whatever.

  • ...god luke too all...kip going...

  • Sorry but obviously you know nothing of the 'work'. You are full of repetitious words that mean nothing else than your desire to be something you cannot be...this is just your personality trying to impress the ignorant. It is a pity but also a natural law: the further away we are from the source the less energy we get.

  • Gurdjieff's work is heavily influenced by Sufism. He himself described himself as an esoteric Christian and claimed that the meaning of most Christian symbolgy, scriptures and ritual have been lost. He never used the term Fourth Way to describe the Work - and the book The Fourth Way mentioned in the video is by P D Ouspensky. Compiled by his pupils in question and answer format it's invaluable - but read In Search Of The Miraculous first to get a feel for back ground, the language and concepts.

  • Hi Obaidkarki,

I enjoy your posts but are you positive Gurdjieff influenced Kaballah?

    Thanks

  • Many are misled into thinking that those who are brash, the extroverted enterprising salesman types or those outspoken traditionalists and conservatives are more likely to spiritually awake. This is not true. It is not about bravado or toughness, but rather gradual personal discovery of the divine strengths (the king) within, the feminine in the masculine and the masculine in the feminine much like Buddha, Jesus or the character Aragorn in the movie Return of the King

  • The key ingredients to esoteric enlightenment are failures but self-analysis, hardship but not torture, curiosity but not blind submission, humour, observing the principle of analogy and patterns, awareness of one's uniqueness but compassionate, constant philosophising how things "are"...among others in contrast to the ways of many teachers of "advanced religions" that emphasised non-reasoning and "coldness"

  • Enlightened spiritual development cannot be induced by encouraging group mentality and oneness and the use of shock keeping straight. Examples of those inclined to tune to the "universal consciousness" like Barrios, Bruce Lee, Mother Teresa, Schweitzer, Gandhi, Einstein even examples found in fiction like Elektra, Neo in the movie matrix, or the latest Batman show how they "awakened" themselves

  • Teachers of advanced martial arts, ballet, classical music, theoretical physics etc would agree with my observation that give freedom and and support those unique dreamy ones are more likely to "awake" the warrior within. Although G is right in many ways but should have observed and adjusted for this as his own experiences and character are testimony to this.

  • @flying8speedistra I agree..u mean something like.truth is to be found in ones soul(?),and isnt it sad that society teaches so many right/wrong rules and inhibits individuality thus taking away perhaps the only tool one has to evolve? Also bright periods in human history were those with freedom+tolerance of xpression.

  • teach very gifted bright intelligent students & I observe something that G missed. Those students who are (sensing judgers) are more likely to become unquestioning hardworking robots. They may be more attentive and fast learners but less inclined to "awake". In contrast those few unique ones that seem to drift from the mainstream, dreamy (yet on a quest, "man on a mission",) actively seeking truths and sees "patterns" (perceivers) they are the ones who are more inclined towards transformation.

  • In reality A.C. was a distorted man, who disguised his perverted sexual fantasies as magic rituals in his books, yet today his crap is still on the market, with all these pseudo-masonic S.S.

G.'s work has nothing today with all these daydreaming fantasies. It is about spiritual Growth of the finer/higher human bodies, which can not happen without real love and compassion towards other human beings.

Thank God, that his work can never be shoehorned in any Secret Society, that is.

  • The word today in my previous post, should read: to do.

    Sorry

  • To sum up a little. People that are not familiar with G's teachings, is that G followed a special way, that is know in the Sufi tradition.

I define it as wearing the "negative armor", which made him especially unpopular in France ( intentionally and as personal choice)

This way has nothing to do with his teachings though.

He was a really developed and conscious being and could financially support well over 50 people at that time has stayed in France.

  • allymetoo Thank you Great Insight. You are a good Youtube community member Keep up with the good work. Don't stop Keep posting your views Please accept my subscription and YT-Friendship. • obaidkarki, I incidentally crippled my previous post, so I found it necessary to add a few more.

I added out the fact, that G actually was involved with the different levels of magical powers.

Nevertheless, these do not play any important role in G's plans. He always used to scare away people, who where after it, like he did with Aleister Crowly, the self acclaimed Magician and reformer of the O.T.O.

    break

  • Since the 500c limit slaughters any possible natural literal expression, two thing more.

There is absolutely no secret in his teachings and there has been taken special care that none of his work can be kept secret by anyone.

G's work most certainly also was not meant to increase welfare personal happiness and such, like modern astrology does, although it possiby degrades to such levels, if in wrong hands.

  • Some of G's Teachers where Sufis. G's SYSTEM isn't Sufi Teaching , although, there are Sufi Elements in his movements.

G's Teachings of the forth way must be seen entirely outside any religious context.

It was/is a System, that is esp/ly designed to suit the needs of modern western man.

There is nothing groovy about him indulging in Qaballa or S. S. (The ones with regalia, grades and stuff)

  • Jewish Rabbis do not fall into the second category of ways,as suggested by Obaid, that being the way of the monk, since Jewish rabbis do not retire from the world.

  • G is reported to have spoken of three traditional "ways" corresponding to developing the higher faculties of one of the three "centres."I think treating this as historical documentation that would be missing the point, being that the elusive "fourth way" works on developing all centres simultaniously, thus ensuring a harmonious development. This was not G's invention, rather it was his discovery. Sly Man, indeed... Does anyone think The Teaching is the invention of some human primate, anyway?

  • Youtube comments are the greatest cesspool of words the world has seen yet.

  • what an interesting impression and interpretation of Gurdjieff and the Work.

Those interested in Gurdjieff would simply do well to read "In Search Of The Miraculous"

Trying to put Gurdjieff into a sufi context or any other religion is beside the point.Sufi people, christians, Jews and Buddhist constantly fall asleep.Gurdjieff was about waking up and the 4th way is JHana Yoga as he called it hadic yoga....Its a tool box of tools to wake up.

  • In reality Gurdjieff was a pompous ass that scammed everyone around him. Those that still meet to discuss his ideas ignore the fact that Gurdjieff openly admitted taking money from the "sheep" to support his extravagant lifestyle! He no doubt is laughing from his grave!

  • This embarrassingly stereotypical and shallow opinion is based on practically non-existent scholarship and study of Gurdjieff's life and ideas. How strange that none of Gurdjieff's detractors mention the fact that he actually financially supported penniless Russian emigrants as well as members of his own extended family, and that in Paris in the Second World War he sheltered a number of Jews from the Nazis.

  • My previous comment is a response to the entry which claims Gurdjieff was in reality a a pompous ass etc

  • It's really fascinating and made me to look for {The Fourth Way} too, I don't know if I can find an Arabic copy?

  • I often read books that referred to Gurdjieff (not to mention the song about him by Therion ^^) but never got around to reading anything he wrote. Thanks for the introduction.

  • obaid they block your blog ,, OMG ,,why

  • Salaam, Thanks for the video.

  • falzaabi

Two sides of a river Nasreddin sat on a river bank when someone shouted to him from the opposite side: - "Hey! how do I get across?" - "You are across!" Nasreddin shouted back.

  • hahahahahaha,

  • mula naser aldeen get iphone , and he flip it over to see if it is male or female

  • falzaabi

One day Nasreddin sat under a walnut tree and pondered.

`You Sublime Allah,' he said, `it's your business, but why would you grow huge watermelons on weak branches of a vine, and house little walnuts on a strong and mighty tree?' And as he contemplated such, one walnut fell from the tree right onto his head.

`Great Allah,' he said as he massaged his bruised head, `now I understand why you didn't find the watermelons suitable for the tree. I would have been killed if you had my mind.'

  • hahahaha

  • yahh Gurdjieff, sufi,

  • Another five star video. Thanks.

  • Im not to sure about this Obaid. Is it anything to o with witch craft or the use of Jinn?
