The problem with the crashes is: if the car is not enough strong it will totally crumple up killing you. If it is too strong it will not be destroyed but the deceleration will make the seatbelt instantly kill you. So there's no SAFE car, the only way to be safe is to respect the limits and pay attention while driving, yeah respecting limits u will reach the destination 10 minutes later, but alive...

I survived an accident like this... with about 80/90 km/h into a tree! I didn't wear the safety belts but instead of going through the windshield I came under the steeringwheel.

Damnage: broken ankle, broken hip, broken ribs and a shattered thigh (and some external injuries).

It took a year of my live but, it could take my live if I had an other (less save) car.

seatbelt saves you only in frontal and side crashes, if your car is rolling, its better if you fall out of it and fall on the ground then car falls on roff and crushes your head and neck.

@ALKANS223 Test done in the USA and in Finland in the 50s and 60s showed that in every simulated crash you where better of if you wore a seat belt. That included roll overs. The test have been repeated in the EU in the last 10 years with newer cars and its still safer to be seat-belted in. It did show that if your car did roll you chances of serous injury or death increased dramatically.

Our business car is also Kangoo. I do not think it is safe at all. I always wear the seat-belt but it all depends on many factors - speed, angle of impact, etc.

@5ky5tr1d3r hahahahha, no... Mercedeses are just as safe (if not safer) than Volvos.... in ANY car you would most likely DIE in a 100 km/h crash. I know people say that "I crashed this car at 120 km/h and lived" etc, but they say what speed it was BEFORE they started braking, so it doesen't count

Volvos are very hard cars-They don't absorb impact by smashing their chassis,they absorb it by crumbling other one.And I never said anything about 100 kmh crash....Overall,you need some luck- My friend a few days ago hit a truck in Lada-70 km/h,no time to brake. Car was carying 4 passengers,no airbags,and folding seats. He was on back seat,managed to break his tooth,but everyone walked out unharmed (thank god).Car is completely totaled,doors were jammed

I crashed with 150km/h with renault kangoo 2008. I only have bruzez from the seatbelt and the steering weel.

I have a complaint thow: The seatbelt is slow in reaction. The impact raised me from the chair and when I came down I broke the chair.

There was a little deformation of the pillar and door, but don't forget the vehicle will also be rated on how it looks after its occupants. Far as I can see, it did pretty well!
