  • CHRISTINA!! <3

  • celine dion, 1968?

    Whitney houston 1963

    5 years ??

whitney to international stardom at 1985, whitney 22 years old ?

and celine, 16 years old, definitely a still a baby! :) she did grow up listening to her!...hahaha maybe

  • what did celine mean when she said she "grew up" listening to WH? how older does she think WH is?

  • @caduteacher I think she means "grew up professionally"

  • she could have grown up listening and been inspired by someone her own age...what's wrong with that...its the opposite!...she is extremely humble for actually saying out loud that a singer her own age has inspired her! lol haters.....

  • Both Divas!

  • I love how it just cuts off when Xtina begins her own speech.

  • @realitytv and you love that because ?

  • @Anime00Freak I no longer love it.

  • @realitytv :)

  • CELINE WAS NOT TRYING TO SAY WHITNEY WAS A LOT OLDER THAN HER. IF SHE WAS 16 WHEN WHITNEY CAME OUT THEN YES SHE WAS STILL GROWING UP CAUSE SHE WAS NOT AN ADULT YET. I AM 36 AND WHITNEY IS 47, 11 DIFFERENCE AND I GREW UP LISTENING TO WHITNEY. DOES NOT MEAN WHITNEY IS 20+ YEARS OLDER THAN SOMEONE JUST A STATEMENT. SOME OF YOU NEED A LIFE TRY AND MAKE SOMETHING OUT OF NOTHING. CELINE HAS ALWAYS SAID NICE THINGS ABOUT WHITNEY AND WHTINEY LOVE CELINE!

  • This message wasn't just lip service. When 21-year old Whitney Houston became a superstar with her 1984 debut, Celine Dion was a 16-year old who sang in French and was unknown in the English-speaking world (she herself didn't speak English). It's fair to say she "grew up listening to [Whitney]"-- it's not as though she stopped growing at age 16. To be quite honest, when you're a teenager, everyone in their twenties seems a little old anyway.

  • To set the record straight: In 1990 and even 92, when Whitney was at the top of the entertainment industry, at her MOST success, Celine was just entering the U.S. market as a singer-virtually unknown. Celine was in her very early 20s...so yes, culturally she DID grow up listening to her as Whitney was already an established and well-to-do singer by the time Celine showed up. She had every right to phrase it the way she did.

  • no tears

  • celine thinks she is at the same age with christina??? where does she see herself as a woman? she is not a teenage girl! who can grow up with whitney's songs! oh jesus! I'm confused!

  • @TheUniverca Remember Whitney was only 19 when she first emerged and Celine was just beginning her music career. I think Whitney is about 6 or 7 years older than Celine, ao Celine was still quite young when Whitney came out, so was Mariah. Remember, Whitney was the first.

  • Celine you're so humble and beautiful diva. Whitney and her fans love you, too.

  • I love them both....

  • if anything, the "i grew up listening to you" is a big compliment because it shows that Celine sees Whitney as an idol for her and someone she looked up to. When Whitney made it big, started setting standards in both vocals and success, I'm sure Celine looked at Whitney with amazement and started learning from her and wanted to be like her. So really it's a compliment, not a "you are old" crap.

  • In fact, search for the video "Celine idolizes the legendary Whitney" to see that Celine has always looked up to Whitney...

  • Why the people figth each other?, Celine is saying that she loves Whitney, and Whitney respond saying with a humble and lovely face, "she is so sweet", wath is wrong with that???, nothing, two of the best voices have ever been on earth, been niece each other. period.

  • thank you for thinking and been inteligent :) not all the people do that ;)

  • @zion24 because people don't do that, it is the source of all problems over the world.

  • 'You know I grew up listening to you', How old does Celine Dion think she is?? Fucking 25 or something?? There's only a few years between her and Whitney.... Grew up listening to her paaahhh!!

  • @ibelieveinyouceline Exacto!!!

  • Hum...saying "I grew up listening to you" doesn't automticly mean that your younger than the person you're talking to. I mean, did she grow up? Yes. Was she listening to Whitney? Yes. So, what does that mean? She grew up listening to her. Or, in other words, she has been listening to her for a long long time (maybe since she first heard her).

  • Celine Dion wasn't even in her late teens when Whitney released her first ever record, she will have been in her early 20's,so to say 'I grew up listening to you' would give the impression she is MUCH younger than Whitney, which she isn't (maybe 4 or 5 years). And also If i was Whitney I would find a bit offensive as its implying she's a lot older than she is!! Celine should have said she'd been listening to her music since she began! To top it off Celine looks years older than Whitney anyway ha!

  • It gives this impression, but where does she specificly says that she's younger than Whitney? Also, no matter how long you speak english during your life, if it's not your mother language you can't speak it like someone who speaks it since he's a baby. She just said something that was on her mind and if you don't think it came out the right way, I'm sure she's sorry. BTW great comment on Celine's looking.Come on, turn a very nice comment into an insult, that's the right thing to do...

  • God Lighten up. I made a light hearted statement about how Celine's comment could come across to Whitney as an insult!! And a stupid joke about her 'look' (but it is true, come on??) ha!! I don't mind Celine, i'm not bashing her, I coulda said a hell of a lot worse. i'm sure people have said far worse on here about her!!

  • Hum...does Whitney looks insulted? No. If she was, she wouldn't have said Oh she's so sweet. She would probably have said nothin.

  • No she doesn't look insulted cause she's an ACTRESS... she did say oh how sweet whilst probably thinking 'you cheeky f***ing ugly bi**h, stop interferring in MY interview you big FAKE donkey faced dog'!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • No, cause nothing obligated her to say ooo she's so sweet. Like I said, if she really was insulted, she would have simply staid quiet. Nothing was forcing her to say that. You're the only one who actually think that Celine ment to say that she's way younger than Whitney. She's not fucking retarded! She knows what Celine ment.

  • How do you know she would have stayed quiet as apposed to making a obligatory polite comment?? You don't know her persona. And you've got confused amidst your tantrum,I NEVER said Whitney was/is/looks offended by what she said did I? You did, Numpty! I said 'I WOULD FIND IT A BIT OFFENSIVE IF I WAS WHITNEY',see the DIFFERENCE? Also, you notice how they've recorded Celine on the vid from waste up? Thats cause they didn't want you to see the hooves at the end of her sleeves the big Moose!! Haaa!

  • Maybe you're right...Maybe Whitney does hate Celine and wants to murder her. It's sad. I thought that 2 incredible singers (making the same job) could have respect for each other. How can they be so immature? I'm very disapointed. Also, I've always thought that people who don't like Celine were exagerating her defaults to have another reason to be disrespectful. I thought she actually was a pretty cute woman...I guess I was wrong.

  • OMG.... I am DEAD @ this comment, JDhappy81 LMAOOOOO

  • Ha ha, it had to be said haaa!!!

  • @JDhappy81 XDD!!!!

  • @JDhappy81

I was thinking the same thing! but i think she meant she has always listenened to her(and grew up listening to her) becuase Celine didnt always sing in english or in the united states

  • @JDhappy81 Celine didn't speak English when she was growing up (she's French Canadian), so she listened to Whitney's music because she was a massive artist then. ...That's why she said "I grew up listening to you." Don't judge before you have all the facts.

  • @TwinPat90 La gente en Quebec habla francés es cierto, pero en la Canadá bilingüe se entienden ambos idiomas, inglés y francés; los francófonos aprenden también inglés desde pequeños

  • @JDhappy81 Why? Can't you grow up listening to someone close or the same as your age? Hahaha.. Complete idiot. Think about it. It doesn't necessarily mean that if you grow up listening to someone then that "someone" is much older than you. Maybe Celine Dion has been listening to Whitney even if both of them were stars already.
