here what i say @DzLsws we wont go up to 8 cores because games DO NOT NEED IT...im just saying we will reach a limit just like processors frequencies some year ago...are we buying 8 ghz computers? no dont you see any links with cloud gaming? we can imagine a 150 cores computer with cloud gaming, servers will use and link the power of each gamers computer's cores...the future....
come on a single user doesnt need 8 cores...."games dont use more than 2 cores"...ok so now it is another sur-deal for multi processors.... back in the day that was how fast was your processor can go...now it is how many cores do you have inside...we could have have real VIDEO games soon...no more graphics...all video processed...
Everybody would by it if it could decompile all the single threaded apps into 12 cores, because renderering betwean 2 programs isn't even possible when your designing something, and means nothing when one thing is user friendly with years of design philosophy, but oh my dumpster renderer is fast.
The fastest processor of all time/ever. Yes, as long as "all time" or "ever" means "for the next three months at best". Shows the inflationary use of certain vocabulary and lack of basic language competence.
uhmm, i have no idea what these people are talking about. Does anybody know where i can get a cheap fast processor or whatever that generally wont make me lagg when im editing videos using sony vegas / Adobe after effects?
You shouldn't be calling names. Liquid helium? That would be below 100K! Helium's melting point is 1Kelvin, meaning the only way you could have solid helium is at absolute zero ( the absolute stop of all molecular motion ). Liquide helium would be super heated the moment you supplied any form of energy, i.e. the heat energy from the air of the room.
Well, I think that was enough of a chemistry lesson for today. F.Y.I it's liquid nitrogen is the current record holder.
First of all due to Moors law it will be impossible to go faster than 50ghz on a standard 1-3 inch chip, On able to hold about a Quadrillion transistors. And the processor everyone is talking about is the AMD Phenom II. -Mike- IBM Engineer
IBM just made a 6 cores simlar that can overclock to 5gzh+, also fujitsu made a 45nm cpu that can overclock is 150Gzh o.o but if u do that the heat will be ~80C so u need nitrogen
@manoragas they do, but thats not default, it can OVERCLOCK TO 150Gzh, but u need NITROGEN, got it? if u use fan i think 5gzh is like max, and u get like 80 C
First of all it's impossible if you use nitrogen, because procesor doesn't even can be overclocked that much. Dude, you don't understand what you are talking :) World record is just 7-8ghz, and still, it can't stay for long time.
@magicedaa Yes, incredible development but economics are important and the companies know that more than anyone. Competition is good for the consumer.
@magicedaa its good.amd is for gaming and intel is workspace.its good.it will be a hot rod and i can run cars 2 using maya, and also high end games.and amd's will have hyperthreading...and if ati and nvidia mixed with those 2,they gonna built a super computer desktop.
They forgot to mention that 8-series i7s(and all lga 1156 cpus) only have 16 psi-e lanes, which means a MAXIMUM of 2 moderately high end graphics cards like the 5830 or gtx 275, any higher and you start to lose performance. the 9-series(lga-1366) i-7s can have 48 lanes. also, all the new sata3(6gb/s) and usb-3 mobos coming out now use pci-e based controllers, so only ONE graphics card for 8-series if you plan on using usb-3 or sata-3. amd also supports 48 lanes with the 790 and 890fx chipsets.
I7920 overclocks to about 50% to 52%, and with the 920 overclocked to 4.0GHz it gets the same score as the 980x underclocked to match the 920's stock clock speed of 2.66. WOW to me its amazing that you have to underclock the 980x to match the overclocked 920 just amazing. I cant wait to get mine.
all of your cpus are slow

It's funny, they talk about SSL encryptions(webbased) and AES encryptions, yet probably 90% of the viewers have no clue what it is.
