Can one really blame early Christianity for painting a white Jesus? It doesnt say anything about how a system behaves when it has energy coming in all the time. The Earth is constantly getting energy from the Sun, so the 2nd law of thermodynamics does not apply. Genesis 3:1 "Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made." What if there are followers of Jesus appalled at the North Americanized version of modern day Jesus, as you are. When I read the bible i see a different Jesus then what most of the world has made Him out to be.
