Brad didn't have a Floyd Rose before Ed (who got the 3rd or 4th) but did choose to stay with his 'First run' bridges (the 50 units he made in the garage) as his trick bag -the Tonality of those are notably thin but the Sustain and Trebliness are AMAZING! Ed's 'prototype' went onto that first Star Charvel after '81 and was only used for noise tracking with a higher output pickup, speaking of which Brad's sounds like it's maybe a Custom-Custom(?).
He may be famous for being in Night Ranger, but his best tone, sound and playing was when he played with Ozzy...Speak of the Devil is my favorite Live album. I have been playing guitar for 26 years and I have not heard a better LIVE sound or tone the Brad's on that album.
@tylivia You're right, his sound on that record is to die for! It's real similar to the tone Stryper got in the mid 80's (no laughing!). I was just reading threads about how he got it on some sites online, you're not the only one who liked the sound believe me. Mesa/Boogie all the way live at high speeds! :D

Gilrock Ranch is a great album if you can get hold of it. Brad's solo album. This guy is not the fastes but one of the best. I laugh at his solos because they are so cool and well written or thought out that I know I could never play or write like that. He is a class act. The comment below mine is an idiot.
